 + 3 moreNick De Rosa gave me a detailed estimate with costs of each portion of the job to be done. He showed up on time and finished the job exactly when he said it would be finished and with no extra cost. He has previously done a complete remodel of my kitchen and bathroom. I was very pleased with the work he had done for me and hired him again for a variety of smaller jobs, including installation of skylights and reroofing a sunroom, patching and resealing a concrete walkway, removing an A/C unit and several fans in the outside walls and patching the walls and interior painting. He also repaired my gutters, installed a filtration system and added some new gutters around the sun room. He does a great job in bathrooms, and this time he installed a vent fan and a recessed mirror for me. He is amazingly versatile and knowledgable of both indoor and outdoor remodling jobs and I trust his advice. He always uses good quality materials. I was very pleased with all the jobs he did for me this time. The concrete walkway looks great, the sunroom skylights her installed are very nice and the gutter filtration system he recommended works well. I cant recommend Nick enough and I will most definitely continue to employ him for both large and small jobs. He is very detail oriented and doesnt cut corners. His rates are quite reasonable for the area and he sticks to his original estimate both in cost and time.

Project involved gutting an existing garage attic space in order to create storage as well as to provide much needed strength to support a new HVAC system. Project also involved replacing several severely deteriorated windows and replacing them with Anderson 400 Series Architectural Style Windows. The final end product far exceeded our expectations and we have already contracted Nick to complete additional work estimated around $16,000.00. Overall, I would rate Pristine East End Contracting an "A". Specifically, Nick DeRosa: 1. Provided us with a detailed quote in which he clearly documented both time and materials; 2. Completed our project on time and at budget; 3. Worked exclusively on our project without the distraction of other commitments; 4. Coordinated effectively with other tradesmen, including Mr. Frost Heating & Air Conditioning as well as John Julius Electric; 5. Maintained a safe and miticiously clean work area free from dirt and construction debris; and 6. Exhibited politeness and professionalism in his dealings with us, his helper, as well as other tradesmen.
Description of Work: Attic - Installed 3/4" plywood sub-flooring throughout attic. Study - Removed large triple unit window. Installed zip wall to contain work area. Removed all sheet rock and insulation from entire window wall. Opened and closed at least two areas in knee wall to allow access to HVAC installation. Treated any mold on framing members and replaced any rotted framing. Insulated entire wall using R-13 fiberglass insulation. Sheet rocked entire exterior wall. Prep rough opening and install viscreen around window opening. Install one Anderson 400 Series double hung window unit with screens and grille. Foam insulated around window. Trimmed window both inside and out using Azek for the exterior and pre primed pine for the interior, both craftsman style with crown and cove at top as well as historic sill at the bottom. Filled all holes and painted interior trim using Benjamin Moore white semi-gloss paint. Media Room - Removed and installed one single double hung window unit. Installed zip wall to contain work area. Prep rough opening and install viscreen around window opening. Install one Anderson 400 Series double hung window unit with screens and grille. Foam insulated around window. Not only is he fair, reliable, and talented...but his work is absolutely beautiful!!! He was there every morning and stayed late MANY nights to finish what hes working on. He was very to open to changing things and answering any questions I had along the way with ease. I was not home while he was working and I completely trust him. This is a contractor you can leave in your house and never have to worry. At the end of each day they clean up very diligently which made my life very easy. Communication is a must for me and with Nick you always get a detailed response with a happy voice on the other end. A pure pleasure to deal with for sure. I was hesitant to use anyone that didn't come recommended from a friend who previously had work done, but we had already used a few contractors who we weren't happy with and we wanted to get the project completed. Nick called right back for an estimate when we called him and came exactly when he said he would. He was priced well for the project and gave us a detailed typed estimate with a date he could start. We decided to use them over the original contractor we were planning on using and we are very glad we did! Nick and his crew were great to work with! They were friendly, came on time, cleaned up before they left each day, were honest (left them several times in my house alone), and worked quickly and did great work! Our bathroom came out gorgeous in marble mosaic on the floor, subway tiled walls and a frameless standing shower. He really does fantastic work and was quick and efficient! He thought of every detail -even things that my husband and I hadn't considered (and we are very detailed precise people). There were a few things we asked him to adjust along the way and he did it happily with no problem. We would absolutely use them for future projects and have already given their name out to family members for work.

 + 5 moreNick has been very punctual from the beginning when he arrived to give us the estimate, to the timetable he set for himself and maintained progress. He sent me pictures at key times to identify progress. He kept us in the loop informing us of progress, obstacles and came up with reasonable solution to those obstacles. He is very detail oriented and spells everything out in the contract that he will be doing. He is very resourceful and has several associates that we had to bring in to finish the job who were very helpful. I had most of the material I was responsible for ordered through 2 home depots and he made several trips to pick the supplies up. In the end we decided to put in a new patio door and he even came back to install it 2 weeks later despite his other obligations in the free time he could find, not to mention picking the door up from the store. 2 Bathrooms and kitchen had to be completely gutted and it took 1 week for the demolition, then came time for the renovation, painting of the remainder of my condo which took another 2.5 weeks. I did not expect the turn around to be this quick but I was really surprised given the obstacles - termites, had to also call a plumber to take out my heater and HVAC to redo the outside storage closet for these items. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a general contractor.

 + 3 moreNick deRosa did a fantastic job. It took almost a month of work to completely gut and rebuild the kitchen and bath as well as some work on the great room. The house dates to 1947 and that presented a lot of challenges particularly in the kitchen where it took a week to tear up 5 layers of flooring and replace with tile. Nick worked diligently and showed up every day. Some days he worked late into the night and brought in extra help when needed to be able to finish on time. Despite a lot of extra work, some arising from extra requests, some from the extra work due to unexpected complications due to the house's age, he only charged me an extra day at the end of the month. Nick gave me a very detailed initial estimate for the labor and materials he needed and he stuck to it. He was very patient and made sure to take the time to explain what he was doing at every stage and to answer all my questions - even texts sent at midnight were immediately answered. He also used high quality materials and was very careful and attentive to details. He helped me secure some very nice kitchen cabinets at a discounted price. Both kitchen and bath turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend him and certainly plan on using him again for several more projects.
Description of Work: Pristine East End gutted and completely remodeled a kitchen and bathroom in a 1947 house. In addition to the kitchen and bath, some work was done on rebuilding the gable of the cathedral ceiling in the great room as well as painting.

The job took three days and they cleaned up before leaving each day, they moved heavy furniture to install flooring and put everything back as it was. The project involved completely gutting the old garage doors, support column, and framework in order to accomomdate a new set of carriage doors. The two areas were completely reframed using pressure treated lumber. A rubber membrane as well as concrete backer board were used to ensure a support column seperating the two bays were completely water proof. Finally, framework was covered using Azek fascia, molding, and trim work. Nick worked closely with the folks from T.M. Kenney's Garage Door to coordinate the final date of installation for the carriage doors. The final end product far exceeded our expectations and we look foward to working with Nick in the future. Overall, I would rate Pristine East End Contracting an "A". Specifically, Nick DeRosa: 1. Responded immediately to my initial inquiry; 2. Provided us with a detailed quote in which he clearly documented both time and materials; 3. Completed our project on time and at budget; 4.  + 4 moreThe room looks GREAT!!! Better than we thought it could look. Nick has great attention to detail and it shows in every aspect. He discovered the trusses after the demo and he suggested we keep them rather than just adding beams (as we had originally planned) because the trusses were unique and original to the structure (house was originally a barn). They were a bit of a mess when he found them, but he had a vision of using metal connectors and staining them to match the beams and they really came out great! Everyone who sees the room thinks it looks amazing and that the contractor did a great job. Lines are clean and neat and having ceiling lights in the room for the first time adds a lot of extra light. Nick was also always available and receptive to our concerns and we really benefitted from his vision. Would definitely recommend!
Description of Work: Nick renovated our family room - replaced drop ceiling and all walls. Reframed walls, installed all new insulation, new walls and brand new vault ceiling with all all new electricity for high hats and moved our tv wiring behind the wall and over to a built-in on another wall. He also wrapped our joists in reclaimed wood to look like beams, and preserved our original truss work by staining all pieces to match the beams and installing new metal connectors between the wood pieces. Painted the whole room and installed new radiator covers.

 + 9 moreAMAZING!!! I can?t say enough great things about Nick and his assistant Keith!! His estimate was provided in great detail listing a breakdown of cost. He was promptly at my house every morning and stayed late a lot of times past 5:30pm to complete a step he was working on. This is a contractor you CAN trust, he had the key to our house and everything was left in great order when I got home each night from work. The work was done in an extremely neat manner. The whole time he stayed in great communication with me and addressed any concerns or things I wanted to change or add in addition to progress updates. Nick went above and beyond his call of duty and treated my home as his own, I was never just some customer on a job, he made sure we were happy. The work he does is spectacular!! He has a great eye for detail. My home looks beautiful and everything that was on the initial quote was done on time and with the highest standards in care and quality work. All I can say is, if there is anything that you need in your home, definitely go with Nick @ Pristine...you will not be disappointed!. At All!!! Nick is great problem solver whenever obstacles out of his control arised. He is an extremely talented carpenter with great design instincts. Both guys were neat and clean. They were extremely trustworthy as both my husband and i were not always able to be home while they were working. They met all of our expectations and the floors were laid beautifully. Nick provided a detailed quote, started the job exactly when he said he would. Showed up every day for 13 days exactly when he said he would. Nick and his staff are extremely clean and when it comes to construction they are extremely professional and knowledgeable in all aspects. Part of the job required opening up the ceiling on the first floor to access plumbing on the second floor. The ceiling, paint was all repaired as if nothing had ever happened. Nick worked with us in making necessary changes and adjustments as the project went on. He did a nice job altering a sink cabinet to fit a apron-front sink that it wasn't built for. We are happy with his work and he made the experience as comfortable as possible.

To be fair to outside parties who may read this review, there is only one thing for which I would comment negatively :Nick s usual partner , Mathew could not come during the second week due to some family emergency and two other workers replaced him probably did not Have the same sense of detail.and expertise. After the job was finished, I noticed several spots and drips on a bedroom paint job and on the marble sink which I had to remove. The painter painted right over the curtain rods and blind holders which should have been removed for a proper job and then reinstalled . The job took one day more than planned so I guess everyone one was in a hurry. Nick did stay late to get the job completed on time. Nick and his coworkers always cleaned up at end of day and were very professional and courteous, I would highly recommend them and work with them in the future.
Description of Work: Installed a new bathroom , removed and replaced damaged plaster board wall in a bedroom, installed a click vinyl floor in hallway and bedroom, waterproofed existing concrete floor.
