Northeastern Masonry & Chimney

The work was mostly not done. The work that was done was very shoddy. I spoke with the owner, Joe Shearer, who said he would come down to inspect the work but he never came. He then offered a few hundred dollars refund, not enough given the work he actually did. Ultimately I had recourse through my credit card company and was refunded. Joe Shearer responded to the inquiry by my credit card company by writing that I was a "dead beat who doesn't pay his bills", he also used some very colorful language on the phone. I had to hire another company to repair the chimney but I still have stains from rusted chicken wire running down my chimney.

It went very well. The service guy was very personable and helpful. We never knew anything about a chimney before we met him. He told us pretty much everything we needed to know.

Excellent results. Jon and his associate did a great job with the work. They were on time, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and cleaned up really well. Would definitely recommend to others.

We weren't very happy with them. It took them a long time to call us back. It took them weeks to call us back and I wouldn't use them again.

They sent two workers to repair a crack in the corner of my foundation. The repair was done with a white mortar as opposed to the grey mortar on the existing foundation. There was no clean corner and repair extended beyond my shake shingle siding, a messy job. Clean up was very poor, they seemed to be very Inexperienced. Every time I pull in my driveway i have to look at their messy job.

It went well as nothing much to clean from their inspection though they fix the damper pulley as it jammed.

They were on time and did a great job. The chimney had a crack in the crown coat and needed cleaning after a conversion from oil to gas.

No call no show for the estimate the first time it was scheduled. Came a week later. I was not home when "Justin" assessed the chimney. The estimate cost was literally DOUBLE the cost of one that I had done in the fall. When I called to inquire as to why there was such a big difference in the cost, Justin ( the service manager) very sharply responded " because we have insurance and we are not just 'Joe's Chimney' down the road. We are reputable" I explained that I had used Angies List FOR THAT REASON. I had paid "$150 for the $350 + worth of masonry" offer they had advertised. I asked Justin what that entitled me to...just the estimate? again I asked him EXACTLY what it was that DOUBLED the price I was quoted from another REPUTABLE ( although not insured) masonry business...rudely he responded " we don't get anything from Angies List...maybe 50 bucks...so I don't know what your talking about, but it doesn't change the price I gave you. Angies List means nothing to us. Get another reputable estimate" I again asked about the $150 I paid toward masonry work if I didn't think that $1500 Was a reasonable price..he told me that was Angies List not them. very over priced. very rude, unprofessional, sharp and sarcastic attitude. didn't show up the day he was supposed to. Justin doesn't realize how important customer support and communication are. word of mouth spreads pretty fast with social media Justin... I wonder if the owner of this company realizes how things are handled.

Great guys! Were neat, efficient, respectful of people and property. Did their work well and were justly proud of a job well done.

The service went exactly like I had expected, it took about 45minutes total due to explanations I needed about my chimney.

They were wonderful. They did a good job. They also gave me a quote to fix it and it was around 200$ which I felt was too much.

I have complaint before but in all honesty I thought my case was to old to have a repair done by said company. But after repeated visits from other chimney experts all of them encouraged me to have the defective product be replaced by original company. Thermocrete should have never been used on an old chimney flute that is not recomended. Also the damage chimney had an existing stainless steel liner which unbeknown to me this chimney had. The person that came to make the repair never told me there was already a working liner on that chimney he replaced it with the thermocrete charge the money and never looked back at his work. The particular chimney is used and only dedicated to exhaust of the furnace nothing else, during the winter when is cold outside the hot exhaust of the furnace causes condensation and because the Thermocrte is really not a barrier like Stainless steel would be, humidity has cause the old red brick to leak through to the surface. I have as of late after this very cold winter contacted the owner again, I spoke to him and I'm only demanding his replacing on that chimney only at his own expense a new liner of stainless steel be put back in. This would relatively be the minimum this business can do. It would cost minimally to him.

The experience went fine and they were easy to get a hold of and schedule service. We did not follow through on the larger job that was recommended and I may follow through this year.

They came on time the day of the appointmen, did a scope of the entire chimney and showed me where there was a little creosote build up, and said that the masonry was in good condition, suggested that I purchase and burn a log to reduce those spots. They didn't try to sell me that or any additional services. The fireplace has burned great after the service, no smokiness or odor in the room

Poor. Gasket did not fit. Stove did not work upon its return. The owner had a very poor attitude. Matthew fixed the stove event.

Overall, they were good. The scheduling process was okay. There were weather issues on the first appointment. They came out on time, but couldn't complete the work. Then one of their employees got sick. They finally were able to get the work done on the third appointment.

Arrived on time, two men worked professionally. Good communications on problems located in chimney to be performed at a later date.

Came in did exactly what was promised for the price quoted. Great job, friendly, competent, Great job guys would defintely recommend them

D.J. and Tim arrived on time. Answered all of questions and concerns. In today's world of inferior and impersonal service D.J. and Tim are a treasure.

Had 2 rusted chase top covers that were not stainless steel so they rusted and were letting water in. Needed to be replaced with stainless steel.

All aspects handled very professionally. Work done well and on time.
