Excellent Air Heating & Cooling

Would Have give all A's but tech mentioned that a scope camera check of furnace was usually part of service, but he left the camera at the shop. Tech was knowledgeable and professional otherwise.

I received a call a few hours before the scheduled visit to update me on the provider's schedule. He then showed up right on time. He was very thorough in the inspection and cleaning and took the time to address any questions I might have. He also offered a few suggestions to improve the efficacy of our furnace. I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. I have recommended Excellent Heating and Cooling to my friends and family and will definitely use them for future maintenance.

My husband called to have an estimate done on a new heating system and a/c put in to our new addition and updated in the old part of the house. When they came out to give an estimate, the service guy was here for about 5 minutes, then indicated they were not interested in doing the work that they were too busy. I understand being busy this time of year, what I have an issue with is when we called to get the appointment, we indicated the details of the job and if they were too busy and did not want to take on this type of job then why waste both of our time.

Greg and his team installed a new boiler to replace my 50 year-old boiler last January. Prior to the installation, Greg met with me and/or spoke with me several times to give me options and answer my many questions. On the day of the installation (1/10/14), his team stayed until the job was done (1 AM) so that we wouldn't be without heat any longer than we had to be. Following the installation, I was having problems with the upstairs being 10-15 degrees hotter than the downstairs. Not only was this very uncomfortable, but it was also causing problems with snow melting and refreezing on the roof, ice jamming, and ceiling leaks. I had tried closing down the valves on the radiators, but they are so old that they appear not to be working. Greg did not recommend replacing them with the risks of damaging the old piping. Greg, his team, and the boiler rep worked until they found a solution - covering the upstairs radiators with radiator covers or blankets. While I am not thrilled with this solution, it does appear to have taken care of the issue. There is only one issue that has not been resolved at this point. Following the installation, there was a dramatic increase in my electric usage (kWh) compared to the same time of year over the last 2 years. The only thing I can attribute it to is changing from a gravity feed boiler to a boiler with a circulator pump. This increase in kWh obviously resulted in higher bills. While my gas usage decreased, it did not decrease enough to off-set the higher electric bills. The net result is that I am currently paying more to run a brand-new high-efficiency boiler than I was to run my 50 year old gravity feed boiler. Greg's response to my concern was that perhaps my children or I had left something running that I was not aware of. I am not convinced of this since my usage went right back down to my trend-amounts as soon as I turned the circulator pump off for the warm months. I will follow-up with Greg about this, and I am sure he will try to have an answer.

First contact phone call was pleasant ... Made an appointment that fit my schedule... Showed up on time... Very professional , took their shoes off to keep from marking the hardwood floors in the house.. Dressed professionally ( clean , neat) The person who did the job was very knowledgeable about our furnace and duct work. When he finished the furnace was cleaned , tuned and then he cleaned up after himself.. I would recommend them without hesitation!

The technician that came out was very knowledgeable. He was also very friendly and professional. He is a great trouble shooter. I switched from my old heating and air conditioning company to Excellent Air because the service as well as the technician were excellent. The technician saved me a lot of money.

They are great. They are amazing and an entirely family run business so everyone one you deal with is related. They are nicest bunch of people we have worked with. They were quick about it and the got the furnace within a day and fixed it.

Overall great experience with Excellent Air- from our first meeting with Greg who went over the entire project (installation of duct work, pros and cons of replacing furnace). Greg, Charlie, Lou and the team were great! They explained everything as the job progressed, paid attention to detail with installation throughout the house, added custom duct work as to not add to bulk in areas with limited space! We know the job took longer than they had anticipated especially given some challenges in our layout- however, right up until they finished they , were professional and respectful to our home. We would highly recommend Excellent Air!

I consulted 4 contractors, all of whom came to my home at no cost to me and offered solutions that were not radically different, so I believe Angie's recommendations were all good (I went for top rated contractors with more than 20 reviews). The contractor from Home Depot took 10 days to show up because of too many engagements, the others visited within days. Greg Dixon of Excellent Air made what I estimated to be the best offer when balancing quality of equipment (Amana ASX16 4T) and warranty (10 years limited, including replacing the whole unit if compressor fails) versus price, which includes maintenance for 10 years. I had checked the internet for A/C capacity versus my space (guide is 500 SqFt/ton capacity) and had concluded the 4T that had been in the house was too small. To install a 5T, the furnace would have had to be replaced, but Greg told me the construction of the house made the 4T adequate, no need to change the furnace - which would have been another 4k. Tuesday I told him I accept his offer, Thursday his men were here and did the work for the price we had discussed, clean and neat plus furnace clean up. The machine I picked was not the lowest offer Greg made me, but I wanted to stay ahead of minimal efficiency standards (13 seer now) and get the warranty with replacement of unit. Greg is a great guy to talk to, he knows his job and cares about it. I am - until now, at least - very happy with the work and the experience, and would definitely hire him again and recommend him to friends.

It took a few visits to test and diagnosis the problem because it was almost intermittent but they stuck with it and work with my schedule to track down the underlying cause and provide a long-term solution.

Lou was fantastic! He didn't just clean the furnace, he took the time to explain everything he did afterwards. And he didn't try to sell me, "extra" things that I really didn't need, (as a women, this is always a concern). Great guy, great job, and great price. What more could you ask for?

Phone service was friendly and very helpful answering my questions. I needed the receipt to be stated a specific way for the sale of the house. Service personal was on time worked efficiently price was as quoted and receipt was given with specific information as requested. nice to have good friendly service!

Provided better service than the company that installed the system.

The technician was rude and unprofessional. Wanted to do additional costly work that wasn't necessary at the time. Just an overall awful expierence

Previously during the week I had had a total of five companies come in and give me an estimate on replacing my old furnace. When I had first called Excellent it was not about replacing but about repairing. During that week I woke up to a cold house and I had tried the usual things but could not get the furnace to start. I called several different repair service but none could get there until the end of day leaving me without heat for roughly 10 - 12 hours. So I went on Angie's list found Excellent and made a call and they were at my door within a hour. As he was looking at my furnace and we started talking I was really impressed. So I asked him if they install new furnaces and then they impressed me even more. He gave me a quote, helped us with financing and installed our new furnace in less then a day. (Side note: He also helped me get out of a bad deal with Sears). When the crew came in they were very friendly and professional. It was amazing to watch them work and my daughter's got a kick at how they banter back and forth. Each member worked in unison and when they left our home they removed everything. Except for the new furnace you wouldn't even know they were there. Now, the reasons I had Excellent install over the other five is because...I didn't feel pressured about making a decision, they actually sold me the number one furnace that was on my research list, they didn't tell me to buy space heaters or to bake a turkey until they could get around to installing, there pricing was reasonable and they seemed to be concerned more about our comfort. Today I'm very happy with my furnace, I love showing it off and I recommend Excellent.

The owner was so nice. Was so easy to communicate with him since I am deaf.. They did a good job and even cleaned my furnace next door at no charge.. I will definitely use them again.. They have contacted me a few times to set up appt for furnace cleaning .. I'll have to call them back. I like the idea of them reminding me. I had contacted a few other companies re the furnace and Excellent Air was the most helpful and cheaper than most for the same job.

The experience was exemplary. He responded quickly, when he came to give me an estimate, he was well prepared, knowledgeable, and pleasant. The price was lower than a couple of other estimates. The work was done on time, the installers were very professional, intelligent and friendly., and they cleaned up after themselves perfectly. All in all, except for having to pay for it, it was a thoroughly satisfactory experience. I plan to call them soon for some more work.

While preforming maintenance, Lou provided me with tips for fixing a whole house humidifier and and maintaining my whole house filter (for Geo system). He also identified that the zone valve on one heat pump was malfunctioning (I didn't notice as my system automatically kicked me over to propane - should of noticed my increased propane usage though!). He spent the extra time to diagnose the problem, order the part, and returned as promised within a couple of days to finish the job. Very professional - will definitely call them again.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Greg from Excellent Air and couldn't be happier with the experience. We had a furnace stop working in the middle of the night and our tenant recommended Excellent Air. The owner himself answered the call quickly and diagnosed and fixed the problem efficiently and for a good price. And unlike some of the bigger companies Excellent Air doesn't charge an exorbitant fee to come out after dark. All around great experience!

This place was excellent. The technician took the time to explain how things work, and answer my questions in a way I could understand. . . really went the extra mile and I could not have been happier with their service. My cat even liked the tech and he doesn't like anyone! They were also on time, which is a huge lifesaver when you're trying to take off of work for a couple hours to fit this kind of service in.

Great attention to detail! Very thorough, honest and helpful. Noticed the thermostat was loosely attached to the wall and took the time to fix it. Spent time explaining what was found and provided suggestions on how to keep the equipment functioning properly.

They came when they said they would, did the work efficiently and well and answered my questions satisfactorily.
