Description of Work: We have an older wooden, very heavy, double garage door. About a year ago, one of the springs on it broke and we had ANOTHER overhead door service replace the springs and some other hardware. The appropriate springs were never used, and the tension on the door was not correct. I finally called Empire to have them take a look. After assessing the situation, Todd promised me that he could locate and install the appropriate springs for the door. The process of obtaining these springs took a bit of time but, as promised, the door is now functioning as it should. I really appreciated how they were so "invested" in making sure the door was properly repaired and followed through until it was. Great job.

Description of Work: Tune up of both of my garage doors. Stopped the squeaking, made sure they were balanced properly (they had been jumping and jerking) and adjusted the insulation to keep mice from coming in. Showed me how to lube the doors and what to watch out for.

Description of Work: Empire Overhead Doors performed a residential garage door/opener tune-up and battery replacement. The technician was prompt and professional. He arrived without the necessary battery (although I had reported to the office personnel that I would need one at the time that I scheduled the appointment), but he returned to the office to retrieve it and completed the service the same day. The price for services was reasonable and as expected. The technician left a screwdriver at my home, so I called the office to tell them I would leave it on my (tiny) front stoop for him to pick up (I work nights, so I am usually asleep during regular office hours). Several days of stepping over the screwdriver and multiple calls to the office later, it was finally retrieved but only after I threatened to dispose of it. | |In summary, I was pleased with the technical service I received from this company, but displeased with the service provided by their office staff over multiple contacts. I would be willing to give this company a second chance due to the quality of the technical service I received during this initial encounter, but if I experience similar problems with the office/scheduler, I would be unlikely to utilize their services again.

Description of Work: Empire performed a garage door tune up, which involved a complex balancing of the garage door (for years the door would seal flat to the ground, one side was always off by an inch.) They also performed a normal tune up with lubrication and inspection. I wish I had contacted them sooner.
