Response from Accurate Pest Control
We offered same day response/service to a call made in which [Member Name Removed] stated he was getting bit by the bird mites in the garage. We had a technician on site that day in which he inspected, wrote up a contract, and provided service. The contract was for the treatment of bird mites at the garage, bird nest removal and a shockwave treatment to disinfect and sanitize along with the exclusion of the bird opening with a 1 year warranty all for $700. Because it was raining at the time of service we offered a second exterior application to the garage. After the initial visit and before the follow up [Member Name Removed] called our office and said he had 100s of bird mites scurrying all over his garage when he moved items such as the garbage can and wanted us there ASAP. A technician was sent out within hours of the call which was a Saturday. During this emergency follow up service the technician did the exterior follow up to the garage and also provided an exterior spray to the house. Upon further inspection the technician found the “100s of scurrying bird mites” to be springtails that were harboring in moisture areas around the house and garage. The emergency Saturday follow up response and exterior to the house was all done at no additional fee. [Member Name Removed] claimed the bird mites were scurrying all over but upon inspection our technician noted it to be springtails but we still proceeded to treat for [Member Name Removed] and once again we did not charge. [Member Name Removed] called again and claimed more activity because he was still getting bit so we did another exterior follow up. [Member Name Removed] called once more and claimed he was getting bit in the bedroom at night. After this we had our technician set monitors throughout the home and garage to collect samples of the said bird mites. Once the monitors were set [Member Name Removed] collected the monitors with the samples and placed them outside so we may pick them up. The samples were brought back to the office for identification. After careful inspection of the samples the insects identified were springtails along with a bedbug. The office notified [Member Name Removed] of our findings in which an inspection for the owner to further inspect the property and bedroom was scheduled. [Member Name Removed] supervised as the owner inspected the bedroom. As the owner proceeded to move the bedding and mattress and box spring a bedbug was found by both the owner and [Member Name Removed] crawling on the box spring. As [Member Name Removed] watched the owner proceed to kill the bedbug. Despite this evidence [Member Name Removed] and his wife were still set on believing bird mites were the insects biting them. We offered a price for the eradication of bedbugs which [Member Name Removed] said he would look over. We received a call from [Member Name Removed]’s wife regarding this in which she accused our company of planting the two bedbugs found in their bedroom that [Member Name Removed] witnessed the owner find. During the conversation with the owner and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] the owner said “You have bedbugs, you are crazy not to worry about eradicating that problem.” Since that conversation we have not heard from either [Member Name Removed] or his wife until today when we read this review. It saddens us to read this review when we went above and beyond the original scope of service for the price paid.
