Description of Work: Ron and his team removed our existing faulty garage floor, excavated, laid crushed stone, rebar, drain for the garage and pool filter, and poured a new garage floor with appropriate pitch. This was no easy task as we had a lot of obstacles including steps to the basement, a pool heater, filter and gas line, and a sloping lot so the ground level outside the back of the garage and the level outside the front were different. We also had some carpentry and driveway work being done at the same time. Ron was great! When he said he was going to be there...he was there! That means everything. If he had to adjust the time frame...he called. It's amazing how few contractors you can say this about. We priced with 3-4 different companies. He was upfront on his payment structure and spelled out the job clearly and concisely. There were no surprises. Ron's price wasn't the lowest and certainly not the highest, but he came recommended so we felt we could trust him. Ron's professionalism was an A, and his crew was great...but they're crew guys not the owner, that's different, so that's why the B. We can and have recommended Ron to others. In fact, my husband called him just the other day (2+ months later) to let him know how happy we are. When people do a good job you've got to let them know! :) :)

Description of Work: Parched cement on sides of two porches & caulked the steps. The cost also included the cement & caulk.

Description of Work: Shapiro Masonry replaced the old worn bricks on my front porch with blue stone. They were punctual, professional & friendly. They answered all my questions. They left the work area clean. The steps now look beautiful. I plan on using them this fall for another project.

Description of Work: I called him for an estamate on a stamped concrete patio job, and decided to go with him to do our patio. We set the date for 6/11/12. I called him the Wednesday before work was to start to make sure the date was still good. He said that he was little behind and would start the following week and contact me the Wednesday before the 18th. He never called. I called him that Thursday and left a message. He never called back. I called again o Friday and left a message. He never called back. I tried one last time on Sunday, and he never called back. Apparently he didn't want the job. It would have been nice if he would have called back and said so. We are now going through the process again to find a new contractor. A lot of time wasted because of Shapiro. I would not recomend him.

Description of Work: We used the services of Shapiro Masonry for concrete pouring in August. They poured the concrete and finished the work.

Description of Work: We wanted to have our original basement windows replaced with safer, more efficient, glass block windows. Our home is over 100 years old and the foundation is fieldstone. Because of this, R Shapiro had to not only install the custom glass block windows but he also had to build a level sill on which to install the glass blocks. The end result was beautiful! Neat and clean, and beautiful! Very very happy.

Description of Work: We called this guy who showed up the same day and seemed nice enough but his follow up stinks. We asked for a written estimate and he promised to drop it off, never did. He did send an e-mail, which he had seemed to have a hard time doing but it was very criptic and just had the price, no details. I would not recomend this contractor.

Description of Work: Ron and his team poured two sections of patterned concrete in front of our house. The first section was a walk-way that stretched from the front side-walk to our front stoop - red concrete using a brick pattern. The second section was a driveway - traditional smooth gray concrete with sections of colored cobblestone pattern.
