Description of Work: Company was asked to move from an apartment in Webster,NY to a home in Ontario, NY approximately 10 miles. Was quoted a price and a time that they would be there. The cost was increased $200+ and they were 4 hours late creating a move during evening darkness. I believe because of the time element they were hasty to leave and did not give respect due on my property. They used no assemblous of order while placing my property in my storage unit, Upon inspection in daylight, it looked like they stood back and threw the boxes in.

Description of Work: Moved several pieces of heavy furniture within town. | |A professional and courteous crew was assigned to the job. They were able to accommodate my needs within a short time after contracting for their service. Furniture was moved and placed without damage, including those from the second floor. | |My only minor issue was their inability to give me a more accurate time of arrival. My job was the third of the day for the assigned crew, so it was understandable.

Description of Work: Part 1 of 2 part move for mother into nursing home. Estimate was right on and the moving crew was friendly and hard-working. The large crew got the move done in short-time. Was very pleased with Rochester Moving & Storage and will use them again in the future.

Description of Work: We called Rochester Moving to get a desk moved. I told him I needed it done the next day, and he said he would get back to me if he could do it. I called later and he said he was working on getting a crew, etc. I emailed a picture of the desk so he could gauge the size, sent the exact dimensions, etc, so he could get a crew. He said he could do it late in the afternoon, to call in the morning for a time. But when I called he pretty much said "don't bother me, I'm busy, I'll let you know." By 3:00 I had not heard, called again and he could not do it, but said he could do it the next day. We called the place where the desk was supposed to be out of, and they said okay, they would hold it one more day for no charge. But then the next day Rochester Moving again said they could not come - in fact they would not move the desk at all. Just not the kind of job they could do profitably.

Description of Work: The owner of the company came to our home, looked at what we had to move and quoted based on that. He informed us that we could save $ if we were able to move boxes ourselves. We removed 95% of the boxes in addition to some furniture however when all was said and done, we were charged as much as he quoted for the whole house. Very disappointed in quote. As far as the crew, they were professional and quick. I would hire them again but not the company.

Description of Work: We used Rochester Moving and Storage to move my parents from their home of thirty plus years to a condo across town. There were six movers and one truck. All the movers were polite, introduced themselves on arrival, asked questions when needed and were very careful with my parents boxes and furniture. The original estimate was for $800 they actually came in a little under as my parents were completely packed and ready to go when the movers arrived.

Dave Conkey, owner, was very pleasant on first meeting and assured me that the move would be effortless. His team arrived promptly on moving day, were courteous, clean, very experienced and pleasant. The team took extra care with my belongings, making certain to pad furniture, took extra special care of my antiques and provided wardrobes for my plethora of clothes! I would definitely recommend Rochester Moving & Storage to anyone con- sidering a Rochester moving company. They were GREAT!

+ -1 moreIt went wonderfully! Dave and his team are great! I felt the price was extremely fair given that it went so quickly! I was promised at least 3 men for the job. Imagine my delight when 7 (yes, that's right, SEVEN) showed up at my old apartment to help us move. They were efficient, polite, and extremely quick. The entire move from the time they got there until they finished loading into the new place took only 1.5 hours! I couldn't believe how quick they were! In addition to being fast, the men were very polite and were careful with my belongings. I didn't have anything break or shatter in the boxes, as they were careful and I also had packed them well. My furniture was in good shape too. They were friendly and I felt comfortable telling them what I needed done and what needed to go out or what needed to stay. My old apartment was on the 3rd floor in the attic of an old house. It was very difficult to move things in and out of due to the long, steep staircase. But these guys were great sports and managed just fine! $280 for a 1.5 hour total local move-in? Not only did I save my back, I also saved $$! It was well worth it and I will absolutely call these guys again for a move in the future. I am recommending this company to anyone I know who is needing to move within Rochester and needs some help.
Description of Work: I scheduled a move-in for 8/17/13. I needed help moving from an in-house studio to a 1 bedroom apartment. The belongings I needed moved included a full size bed, a few small tables, a desk, electronic appliances, and several boxes of belongings. This was a local move from one Rochester location to another.

+ -1 moreThey were great and fantastic. They used a couple more guys than most companies would have so that the job was done really quickly. The workers were extremely polite and friendly. Each one of them introduced themselves. They asked good questions like where everything went and where I wanted things placed. They were very careful with all of the stuff and it was not an easy move. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

+ -1 moreThe company sent four men, who moved heavy workshop tools, etc. from my old basement workshop up to my new workshop off the driveway. The move went fairly quickly, with no problems. Also, we switched the furniture in two main floor rooms, including a sofa bed which was difficult to maneuver through the doorways. Again no problems. The men were friendly and courteous, and wasted no time.

I was actually concerned that because day 1 went so well, day 2 would be a disaster with a different crew. It was not the case. Very pleased with the overall experience. I could not have asked for it to have worked out better. I would not hesitate to call them again.

Was able to have two gentlemen come over and do the job last minute and was charged a flat rate (which was great at such short notice). Two nice guys came by, did the move quickly and efficiently.

Description of Work: In preparing my home for sale, I had to move some furniture into my garage as well as boxes of packed items. I would recommend this company over and over again! I have nothing but praise for this company! The Tim's were awesome!
Description of Work: They moved all of my boxes, bags, furniture and odds and ends. They even took my hung clothes and wrapped and moved them. They did not make pack a certain way which was wonderful. They moved my one bedroom apartment down a flight of stairs with no complaint. They then moved my to buffalo. Once we arrived at my new home they were were quick and put everything exactly where I wanted.

The foreman and team were self-motivated to keep going-they did not use inappropriate language or smoke, and they were friendly, courteous and professional. It was my first experience in not having a mover lose something or damage something.
Description of Work: This move consisted of the loading, delivery and unloading of cartons and furniture from a three-floor townhouse to a two-floor condo, two-and-a-half miles away.
