Rochester Hardwood Floor Inc

This was a 3 day project. The 1st day the crew came during the blizzard. They prepared the flooring surfaces and set up plastic sheeting to protect other surfaces. The floor was sanded, cleaned, stained and polyurethaned. The crew also dealt with moving the refrigerator. The 2nd day the crew buffered the surfaces, vacuumed and applied the 2nd coat of polyurethane. The 3rd day the crew vacuumed and applied the 3rd coat of poly. The crew provided a list of floor maintenance. The crews arrived when promised (even during the blizzard). The different crews that performed the work were all very friendly and were very professional. They left each day cleaning up any items they brought in and cleaned any mess that was created. There were no surprises other than the floor looked much better than I anticipated. The floor, landing and stairs look beautiful and greatly enhance the look of the kitchen area.

The floors turned out superbly. We were fortunate to be away while the work was done. The house was empty having just been purchased. The real estate agent assisted by providing access to the work crew who then had free access thoughout the job. The provider accommodated us by modifying their schedules to do the work within a schedule of other work being done prior to occupancy. I was able to follow the work progress with the proprietor assuring that there were no questions using email or the phone. We are very pleased with the service and the results. It was a pleasure to work directly with the proprietor. The contact created the feeling of trust and understanding to do the work and do it right while we were away. We recommend the provider to you.

they were short one box of wood that is on backorder, but have scheduled the date to finish the job. they were extremely neat and professional.

As usual it went incredibly well. Donna and Kelly have always been very professional and friendly. We have used them several times in the past as have other members of my family. Quality and workmanship is always top notch. Workers are always on time, friendly. They work hard, keep at it and do a great job cleaning up when they are finished. I believe their prices compare with any other company- probably better. I look forward to having three bedrooms done in the near future giving me a total house of beautiful hickory hardwood flooring!

they did a good job refinishing the floor and replacing a few floor boards. They were responsive and courteous, professional. They did miss a spot with the molding they installed. If i look in some of the harder to get at corners of the floor i do see swirl marks, i honestly dont know if this is normal or not (this is my first experience with hardwood flooring). all and all i would use them again, they did want they said they would and for the price they said. there was no fussing about; im happy with the way the floor look.

Pulled up a bedroom carpet, all tacking, and disposed of debris. They refinished the hardwood floor under the carpet. They also replaced some flooring and put in new molding around new floor. Floor looks great!!!

Starting from the estimate/quote we had a positive experience with Rochester Hardwood Floor. They were able to come out and do the estimate within 1 week of our first call. The work schedule was about 4 weeks out but we managed to find the first available time over a weekend pretty easily. The work started on Friday and lasted from morning through mid-afternoon. Saturday they came and buffed and applied another coat of polyurethane and again on Sunday. Sunday they also installed the footing. The workers were nice and informative, very much in and out of the house, no breaks. The service is supposed to be dustless which we found to be largely true. There was some dust left in the hallway and on the walls but it wasn't bad at all. We were slightly disappointed that the wooden trim floor boards around the rooms was roughed up a bit in the process of sanding on day one, it will need to be re-painted which we had not bargained for. I'm not sure if we could have done something to prevent that or not. There were two basketball size water or some sort of stains on the floor in one room and after just regular sanding they came clean, our 100 year old floors look beautiful. I was concerned with the smell of the polyurethane but it was ok. I am pregnant and therefore more worried than I would normally but but found the we could keep our bedroom 'fume free' for the most part by some creative ventilation using a fan in the hall way and an open window.

I called quite a few local companies and private contractors. Rochester Hardwood Floor's price is the second lowest, only higher than a handyman. We chose to trust a company that has dozens of positive reviews on Angies list. Everything went smooth and we are very happy with their work.

Donna came and gave me an estimate in late April. She was prompt, efficient and professional and the price was about what we were expecting so I hired them. We scheduled for Memorial Day weekend (mistake on my part, but not their fault) and they came and did the job. They replaced a few boards in the upstairs hallway and when we came back in the house the day after they applied the first coat we noticed there was too much give in a couple of them. They fixed the problem when they came back to do the second coat and it looks great! I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Rochester Hardwood did an excellent job on our installation, they were clean, efficient and very professional. Unfortunately our first shipment had damaged wood boards and we are grateful that Rochester Hardwood protected us by not installing and going back to the manufacturer to correct the problem. It took three shipments to at least get the majority of the order correct and we were without floors or furniture for over three weeks. This was not the fault of the Installer, on the contrary, they protected us and negotiated with the manufacturer on our behalf. The owners, Kelly and Donna, were in constant communication with us and even made a trip to our home to inspect the wood personally. They assured us that they would not install any wood that had even the slightest defect, and we appreciated that. The answer we got from the manufacturer was that because of the product we ordered that we should expect some defects, which was never disclosed when the choice was made. Once Rochester Hardwood began the installation, I have to say that the work crew did an outstanding job. Before they installed the trim, I thought that their cuts were so precise that they it really didn't even need the trim. After all of the drama with the shipments, and rescheduling, this crew performed a 3 1/2 day job in just 2 1/2 days. We are very pleased with the workmanship and the look of our floors.

Worker's arrived on time and went right to work. The installation was perfect and CLEAN! They have installed hardwood flooring in 5 rooms for us. EXCELLENT work !!! I would recommend them to anyone looking to have hardwood flooring installed! It's not much more than carpeting and you don't have to worry about stains or wearing. Look no further...this is the company you want to hire!

I would put a sign in front of my house for this company!! They did everything they promised and more! They sanded and refinished all of our floors, they stained the dining room floor, and repaired multipul spots throughout the house that had cracks or holes in the wood floor. They were knowlegable and friendly. I would use them again in a heartbeat. If anyone tells me that they are getting hardwood floor work done I make them promise me that they will call this company. I love that it's a husband/wife duo that owns it, it gives it that small buisiness/family feel but the work they do is better than any big business could hope for.

We hire this company to install hardwood flooring in the main floor which included to remove and reinstall the baseboard installed by the builder. Their estimate was $3500 plus $500 for the baseboard removal and reinstallation. Their two employees were friendly and professional. The problem were not the two guys who did the job, but the lady that is one of the owners of this company. When the workers told me that they didn't remove the baseboards. We found out that they damaged some of the baseboards with little cuts and also they made a hole in the plastic base of our brand new front door. I called the lady (owner) and told her that they made a mistake in the bill they sent because they were charging us for removing and installing the baseboards. I couldn?t finish talking and she started to yell at me. I never expected it such a rude reaction from her. I just wanted to tell her what happened and asking her to explain me the bill in a very polite way. She even told me that she will take us to court, which was also rude and very out of line. She is a very aggressive and rude person. She ended saying that she will give us a $200.00 discount from the $500.00 for the baseboards removal and reinstallation that they didn?t do. We just didn?t want to deal with such a rude and aggressive person anymore, so we accept her discount and paid the bill. We have done lots of renovations in our former house and we have never had such a horrible experience. I really don?t recommend them.

I contacted this company via email for information and pricing and they were not very helpful. My schedule does not allow me to use the phone much during business hours as I am constantly involved in meetings and presentations so I prefer to conduct as much business as I can via email. When I contacted the company for pricing information I received the following response: "There are too many flooring types to just send out a quote, please call our office at the number below to give us more info." When asked for more information or examples I received this response: "Installing Hardwood Floors would have a range of between $9-$13 sq ft. Oak would be on the low end." Again, not very customer friendly or helpful. After telling them I will work with someone else I did get a slightly more helpful response: "Via email, I can also quote you less expensive flooring. But , realistically, most flooring installations end up being between $9-13 per sq ft. There are MANY variables. So, good luck. We would be happy to come out and measure and provide a written estimate, which is our usual practice." Overall I like to work with companies that are working to earn my business and this one did not give me that feeling. They did respond quickly via email but as you can see it was not the quality response I am used to getting.

Very well, highly recommend. Made it easy. Dustless system is pretty impressive. Expecting a big cleanup when they finished and it wasn't necessary.

They showed up on time the first day with a large crew to sand the floors. Not - "dustless" but much less dust than I experienced with another company previously. Workmen were courteous and friendly. They were very accommodating when we decided last minute to add an additional room to the project. Quality of the finish is excellent. Provide tips on how to maintain the floors. I would hire them again.

They showed up with a big crew and sanded all the floors. Very little dust.The following day the floors were stained and the next day poly was added. (3 coates- one coat per day). Great job and very responsive to any concerns I had.

They provided an in-home estimate within two hours of me contacting them by phone and (because they'd had a cancellation), started work just two days later. Donna, who did the estimate, was unbelievably good with math, friendly, professional, and answered all of my questions. The head of the crew who did the work met with me on the day they started work and went over everything - really carefully - with me before they started anything. The job was done on time, on budget, and there was not a speck of dust anywhere. All the other tradespeople who have been in our house since (we just bought the house, so are having a bunch of things done) all comment, with no prompting, how gorgeous our floors look. As for the repairs, you cannot even tell where they are - they blend seamlessly with the original boards.

Donna came over to scope out the job, provide details and an estimate. Wall to wall carpet covered the floor; i elected to remove it to keep cost down. We settled on a date, left the house for a few days to visit family and turned the place over to RHF. When we returned, the floor was perfect. A great finish, a better than good match to the existing floor, and no dust/dirt anywhere. Could not have been a better job. Well, free would have been good ;-)

I was very pleased with the service of the owners and staff. They all were very professional ,friendly and helpful. I can't beleive how beautiful my home looks. The results were beyond my expectations. The work was done in a very timely fashion. The crew arrived when they were scheduled and did a great job. I definately will have them back. NO DUST !!!! REALLY GUYS NO DUST. I have to say that moving things out of the rooms was a pain but then, how would they get to the floors Anne McGurk Brighton NY

Donna was a doll and so easy to work with. They had an estimate ready right away and worked hard--above and beyond--to get the matching stain for the existing floors! They didn't even want a deposit! The only reason I rated them a B for promptness is because we were out of town and my step-son had to meet them at the house to let them in daily and lock up when they left each day. He complained that on a few of the days they were no here when they said they would be. Otherwise, perfect and I would definitely hire them again.

They were very good. I didn’t get another bid but the price was reasonable. They are efficient, they are punctual, they clean up, they do a decent job, and it is no hassle.

They polished it and cleaned it up. They were very flexible because we changed our mind and thought that we would not get one of the rooms done but they did it for us. They had to squeeze in the work because it was Christmas time and they still did it for us. It was the day before Christmas. They were prompt to reply and the owner came and checked. The boys who worked were pretty decent and I could trust them. I could leave the house for half an hour and we were pretty happy with them. They didn't leave anything behind, they cleaned up after themselves. There was no mess left behind and there was no smoking by the workers. Once we had a problem with another companies workers smoking and we don't want to expose our kids to that. These guys were very decent and very professional. They came and did the job and cleaned up after themselves. We didn't have to pick up anything. The quote that they gave us was reasonable compared to other places. They were very reasonable.
