A great experience from start to finish! Five star all the way! The estimate was done by D0nna who was punctual, knowledgeable, experienced and pleasant. Her follow-up communication was excellent. The estimate was detailed and fair. Communications/interactions with owner/managers Steve and Mike were always a positive experience. They are very knowledgeable about the hardwood flooring business and were a pleasure to work with. Installers Charles and Craig were excellent at their craft. They were punctual, worked hard the whole day, and cleaned up at the end. We were very happy with every aspect of the flooring they installed. The flooring that we had installed was a natural pre-finished select red oak from the Hardwood Outlet in Penfield. The folks there, Oz and Levant, were very helpful and accommodating in helping us choose the flooring that would best fit our needs. We took home numerous samples before making our final selection. Like Rochester Hardwood Floors, the Hardwood Outlet is a quality operation. All around, this was a great experience and we are very happy with the quality and value of the finished product. We look forward to recommending Rochester Hardwood Floors and the Hardwood Outlet to family and friends.

I had a very good experience with Rochester Hardwood. Donna came out to give me an estimate and I was impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. I had a total of five companies giving me estimates and I felt the most comfortable with Rochester Hardwood. They were not the cheapest but I felt that they were well worth it. The work took three days and a different crew came out each day. Everyone I met was courteous and did great work. I had had water damage from the pet's water bowls and the floor under the table was very worn. My floor look amazing now, just like new! And it really is dustless! I would recommend this company to anyone and I definitely would hire them again.

Floors turned out great! The wood floor is very old -1890s and they were able to make them beautiful again.

They arrived on time, worked through the day, finished on time, and removed the old carpeting. We are very happy with their work.

Everyone we spoke with was very professional and friendly during the sales process, which led us to choose this contractor. However during the repair we had some issues, and were very surprised with the responses from the company. 1. Before the polyurethane was applied we noticed that one of the newly installed boards was split. We told the contractor on site who assured us that it wouldn't be visible when he was done. 2. Once the job was done we had four issues: The split board was very visible, most of the nail holes had no putty in them, the color was missmatched in one section, and the heat register covers no longer fit because the size of the holes was reduced. 3. We contacted the company and they came out to look. They said they could fix the nail holes and the size of the register openings but that nothing could be done for the split board or the missmatched color. 4. We were very surprised by their unwillingness to fix their error, and expressed this to them. They stated that we had other splits in the portions of the floor that they didn't replace, so we wouldn't notice the difference. 5. Eventually we convinced them to send out a contractor who didn't even know why he was sent - once we explained the issue he took care of the problems that we had rather quickly. except the heat register openings were cut sloppily leaving visible over-cut. All-in-all the after service did not match the sales service, which is very disappointing.

Removal of carpeting and parquet was done quickly. Even though the house has an open floor plan, they covered off the rest of the house to keep dust from spreading. The installation was quick as well. When taking care of an existing squeak, the sub-floor was screwed down which caused a slight but noticeable step in the middle of the entry way. There were also some other minor problems. Kelly personally came to the house to review these problems and all were taken care off within a week.

Three rooms and a hallway in my downstairs are hardwood, and very badly stained by pet fluids and various things. Other companies told me that the stains in my floor simply would not come out and the floors would need to be replaced entirely. Rochester Hardwood floor was able to sand out nearly all the stains and replace the boards which were stained beyond repair, and they did the entire downstairs of my home in a day! The end results were stunning. Prices very competitive and less than anticipated. The workers were professional and efficient, and the end result is stunning.

Everyone involved, from the initial quote and guys on site to the office, were friendly and professional. Everyone was always on time, I was told when they would be there, and they tried to work around my schedule the best they could. Truly dustless, I expected there would be a LITTLE dust, but zero dust. That's pretty impressive, as a former woodworker, I know how hard that is. N/A on the price because I didn't get multiple quotes, but from past experience, I think they were on target; in any case, I feel like we got very fair value for what was done. I will definitely use them again.

The work crew arrived on time to start the project and in a very professional manner completed the living room in the estimated three day period. Six weeks latter they returned according the the estimate and completed the dining room floor refinishing. Thoughtout the process, the crew was very professional and accommodating. The floors turned out looking like a new floor installation. We would highly recommend Rochester Hardwood Floor inc. and we would use them in the future.

Installation was exactly as described. Team was prompt and professional. Refinish was totally dustless as promised. Floors were beautiful and installed matched existing. We had 3 coats of poly applied. My only disappointment is that they assured us that the 3 coats would stand up to the wear and tear of our goldeN retriever but we are already seeing scratches. We will have to have a buff and re-coat applied next year vs. every 3 as recommended.

GREAT experience! Arrived as scheduled, staff were professional, stayed on schedule, finished on-time and within estimate. There was accidental damage to the ceiling but they immediately came in and fixed it to our satisfaction. They have this down to a science. The estimate was so thorough that there were no surprises.

We were extremely pleased with the professional job performed by Donna and Kelly and every one of their crew. Every step of the way, they displayed the knowledge and professionalism that only come with experience. The best single word that describes the work itself is meticulous. The first day the men sanded the floors and replaced boards that were damaged and boards that were previously installed to cover old register holes and cold air returns when the house was heated with coal or oil. They also put down the coat of stain and the first coat of polyurethane. The next day they put the second coat of polyurethane on, and the third day the last coat of polyurethane went on. These men were very efficient, polite and certainly knew what they were doing. My floors look so beautiful, and I am very happy with the end result.

I had Rochester hardwood sand and finish the stairs between my first and second floor of my home. The quote was for stair treads.they do not sand the vertical risers, baseboards, or banister and railing. The stairs look nice. I am sanding the other parts they did not refinish. My main issue with this place was the lack of customer service I received at the end of the job. The office staff did not call me to tell me when they'd be there for the last day. When I spoke to the owner, he insisted his staff called me and it was my error as there was a check mark by my name that meant his staff called. He did not admit the possibility that his staff could've made the mistake and was actually rather condescending while we tried to figure out when they could come to complete the job. They also kept calling and emailing me within 5 days for payment. And the guys who did the work talked about how they want to find new jobs., which I found rather amusing.

I was working with a tight schedule and I called and Donna came out the very next day and they did the work the following week. Everybody I have worked with from Rochester Hardwood Flooring has been polite and professional. I plan to use them when I do the rest of the floors in my house and I would certainly recommend them to others.

Donna was prompt in providing an estimate and she explained the process well. Teams did each phase of the work - installation, sanding, and finishing - over a multi-day period. Several other floor contractors had told us it would be impossible to match the flooring. This company did the job without a hitch. In general the teams were prompt and cleaned up well. However, one team was more than 2 hours late one morning without calling, hence the rating.

The crew came in on 3 separate days to do the work and left the house clean with barely any remnants that they had been there doing work. Extremely professional and would recommend highly without any reservations.

The job had to be done at two times in order to store furniture from one part while the other rooms were being done. The work was essentially dust free as their vacuums on the sanders were very effective.
