Description of Work: Tear out and replacement of driveway. This included tearing out some concrete and widening part of the driveway.

Description of Work: removed bad blacktop and replaced with gravel and repaved the entire driveway.

Description of Work: They took off the old blacktop and added a layer of new crusher also added a new extension with a deep base of stone and crusher. The driveway looks fabulous even after the winter we had. George was very straightforward and helpful. Very professional.

Description of Work: Driveway resurfacing. | |Rochester Driveways was recommended by a neighbor whose driveway was totally rebuilt. Our initial attempts to contact this business were ignored for several weeks...we found out later that this was due to a heavy seasonal workload, which is understandable, but which resulted in the lone "B" in our review. We feel that a quick call to let us know that they were too busy to take on more work at that time would have been an enhancement to customer relations. | |Nevertheless, we persevered (based on the recommendation of our neighbor), and we did eventually set up an appointment to estimate our job. | |The job was to resurface an old concrete driveway that had been resurfaced with asphalt 40 years before, and which desperately needed it again...and to do it WITHOUT totally removing the old concrete base (we were trying to save money before moving). Chuck showed up on time, looked at the job, and recommended complete replacement (as had others). When we told him that we were simply trying to prepare the house for sale, he agreed that a simple resurfacing, while not as durable as a complete replacement, was probably the wisest choice, and quoted a price for the job that was roughly half the price of a complete replacement, with the caveat that any warranty would be less comprehensive than usual because the job would not be the recommended replacement and he couldn't guarantee the stability of the old concrete base. We considered this to be a fair trade-off. | |They showed up on time with heavy equipment, removed the old and degraded surface, prepared the base, and installed the new surface in a total of two days. After a week of "curing" time, it looks nice, performs well, and will certainly serve our needs; we plan to get it sealed this summer (if we're still here). | |We recommend Rochester Driveways and would use them again, but be aware that you should call very early in the season for best response...and don't give up if they don't call back right away.

Description of Work: They peeled off the old blacktop and put new gravel plus an add on with 8" of gravel. then came back after two weeks with 2 1/2 inches new blacktop. Looks great and George was professional and personable. One of the other estimates was $400 more and that was going over the old blacktop.

Description of Work: They put the top coat of asphalt on our driveway. Great job. Did all he said he was going to do. Couldn't ask for more.

Description of Work: My driveway was from 1955, it really was almost just gravel. Mr. Brucato explained they would have to dig out an entirely new foundation and then in a week or so they would put on the asphalt. It took a little longer than we both expected because my town had changed their rules and he had to get permits but once he had the paperwork done it took only a few hours to get the foundation done. In about a 2 weeks the crew came back and poured the asphalt and the driveway looks great.

Description of Work: I was looking to have my driveway replaced. It was a complete tear off and also to widen by 2 more feet. I researched the process of replacing a driveways and also looked on Angie's list for contractors that have good ratings. Rochester Driveways had and excellent rating and I chose to call and ask for an estimate. I met with Chuck to discuss the job that needed to be done and he explained the process. He was very thorough with the information and answered any questioned that I had. I felt he was an honest person and someone who has pride in his work.He started the job the week of Easter and explained that we would have to drive on the stone for a few weeks to pack it done. Due to all the rain we had, the ground was very soft so it took a bit longer for all the stone to pack down. He returned to add more stone and to complete the driveway. I am extremely pleased with the job and have had a few neighbors comment on how this job was done the proper way. I highly recommend Rochester Driveways to anyone looking to have work done. You will not be disappointed.

Description of Work: My residential driveway was full of holes and craters and needed complete new paving. At the same time, I decided to have the backyard portion of the driveway (to the 100 year old garage/now shed) torn out, old tree roots removed which had made walking hazardous on that portion of the driveway and topsoil spread to create a larger lawn. The first part of the process was begun around the third week of April, The old driveway was torn out, topsoil was trucked in and spread on the area of what was the back portion of the driveway and the base gravel bed was layed on the driveway itself. Three weeks later (a slight delay due to rainy weather) the new blacktop was layed and rolled and looks wonderful and new grass is growing in the larger back yard. Rochester Driveway was in early (this morning), completed the job, cleaned up the area around their work area and I am extremely happy with the work they did. I recommend them wholeheartedly!

Description of Work: We had an existing stone driveway that was installed in 1989. Rochester Driveways graded it, straightened the edges and installed a complete new asphalt driveway.

Description of Work: The company did an overlay of new asphalt over the old driveway.

Description of Work: Replaced an existing asphalt driveway and two footpaths that were in very poor condition. The old asphalt was removed, the base gravel was recompacted and a new layer of asphalt was applied. The lawn and garden edges were cleared and a large invasive tree root was removed. It now looks great!

Description of Work: Called for a quote on a 4655 sq ft driveway for paving on 26 and 28 June left message on answering machine. Chuck was suppose to call. Left another message on 30 June never received a call back or quote

Description of Work: This guy would not return calls at all. He came out gave a quote and that was the last that I have ever seen of this guy. Just try to give him a call and see if you can reach him. I rate this guy a ZERO!

Description of Work: I had my entire driveway dug out and replaced. I got several quotes for this job, all of which were very close to each other. I knew that the driveway was in very bad shape and figured that the entire thing had to be torn out and replaced rather than just being resurfaced.. All that quoted said that it had to be dug out and replaced, so it was no surprise to me. My driveway is 22 feet by 70 feet

Description of Work: They removed my old driveway, about 1200 sq foot, laid stone and repaved. They were fantastic. I love the way it looks now.
