Pro-Tech Appliance

We were extremely pleased with the service we received from Pro-Tech Appliance in cleaning our dryer vent. The serviceman arrived during our agreed upon time and did a thorough and professional job. He was also very helpful providing us with very useful safety information. We would hire this contractor again!

We called them and spoke to them. They said not to worry that they were in their system. The secretary was very nice and professional.

Although the issue was not resolved, it went fine and the guy was nice and as helpful as he could be.

It was Saturday and I went to dry a load of laundry and the dryer would not start. Went on Angie's list and selected Pro-Tech because it had so many favorable reviews and was open on Saturday. Called and left a message. They called back within 20 minutes and I explained the problem and they said they could do the job on Monday but I had to work so we scheduled for 10-1 on Friday. Friday around 12:30pm they call to let me know they are running behind because of problems at the previous Customers site and won;t be able to make it till 1:15pm or so. 1:15pm rolls around and I get another call that he is still working at the previous customers site and will be to my house as soon as possible but it will be at least an hour. Finally at 3:30pm he arrives at my place. I was a little annoyed but he was friendly, apologetic and courteous and had called to let me know he was running way behind so I got over it quick as I realized he was just having a bad day through no fault of his own. He got to work, had it fixed inside of 15 minutes and then took another 10 minutes tops to clean my vent which was quite clogged. Overall I was very happy with the service and the price was very reasonable and was actually much less expensive than I thought the whole thing was going to be. He was fast, courteous and very professional and I would definitely use them again in the future and would recommend them highly to anyone else as well.

Protech was incredibly professional and helpful. He did a very thorough job and properly installed a vent that had been put together on the cheap by the original installer. I am very pleased and will not hesitate to call them again.

Lisa, who answered the phone, was very helpful and supportive. Rod, the owner, had time that morning, so he stopped by within a couple of hours. He analyzed the problem right away and fixed it quickly. We talked about how the machine worked. He showed me the Reset button, which had not been discussed at all in the manual. This was a revelation. I might not have been successfully setting the water level, and that might have thrown the drum out of whack. When I mentioned I was worried about the basement sink filling up too high if the water level was extra large (the machine empties into the basement downstairs) i found myself down in the basement with Rod, watching the water expelled from the washing machine. Rod did this to set my mind to rest. He also proceeded to plunge out the sink. I felt he went way above and beyond, and was so considerate! He did an excellent job of fixing the machine and teaching me a few things too! I just had to write this review

Rod and his associate came to check out a refurbished dryer I had recently purchased that I was having ventilation issues with. They cleaned out my dryer vent and spent I think at least a good half an hour checking the dryer to try to diagnose the issue I was having with excessive lint. Rod offered some good advice for proper dryer maintenance as well. He was very friendly, personable and very detailed oriented. The only thing that bothered me about the experience had nothing to do with his expertise in his work, but it was raining outside and both Rod and his associate walked all over my freshly cleaned hardwoods with soggy, wet dirty sneakers after standing outside in my yard in the pouring rain... I just wish in the future they would be more aware of things like this. I was cringing with every squeaky-squishy rain-soaked step as I watched them go in and out of my home and up and down my carpeted stairs... Ugh... I guess I'm just a little bit of a freak about things like that, but I'm sure I'm not alone. Other than that, the actual service part was great and Rod was very articulate explaining everything about my dryer in detail to me. I will consider using him again, but maybe just ask him to take his shoes off... especially if it's raining outside ;)

the tech was the best! Given my dryer is over 30 years old, he was still familiar with the nuiances of the "old" technology :) Everything was done quickly, thoroughly so hope it is good to go for another 30 :) Difinitely on my list of go to people when I have a need.

The craftsman arrived on time. Asked a few pertinent quest, and set off to work. We have very long dryer vent and he was able to clean the full length of it. Our dryer never functioned better. What a difference in performance, not to ;mention the safety issue. He advised that we should have the vent cleaned again in about 5 years. I will not hesitate to use this service again. So very pleased.

Rod was AWESOME! Honestly one of the best repairmen I've worked with off Angie's List. Was extremely thorough and explained everything that he was doing in a lot of detail. I actually learned more about Gas Dryers (didn't even know they were gas) than I ever thought I'd learn and he even gave some useful hints on how to care for other appliances in my house (cup of vinegar in the dishwasher each load has worked awesome!) Ultimately the dryer vent cleaning is what cleared up my drying problems, I'm not setting the dryer to two 75-minute cycles anymore, I'm able to get my laundry dried in one 40 minute cycle now. Thanks so much!

The service was exemplary. I have a front loading washing machine which was in need of a good cleaning . I didn't know it at the time but there was mold on the inside ring of the machine . Ron - the service man - showed me how to keep it clean in the future. Also, the fabric softener dispenser was clogged , and the was cleaned out. My dryer vent was also cleaned out. Both washer and dryer worked much better after the service call.

Showed up on time. Performed the service (cleaning dryer vent) and was on his way. He took extra time to look at the inside of the washing machine as well and give me some pointers on keeping it clean and fresh.

Determined that the igniter was bad on the oven. Had a replacement in his van. Replaced the igniter and tested for operation. Worked perfectly. in and out in less then 30 minutes. Very courteous. Advised that the igniters last 5 to 7 years generally. That is good knowledge to have. Very satisfied with Pro-tech Appliance and will use and recommend in the future.

They came at the time they said they would and did the job quickly.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. The dryer is working okay and our house didn't burn up so it is okay.

My 11 year old gas dryer had stopped drying and was making a loud knocking noice. I thought I was going to have to purchase a new dryer but decided to investigate a repair. I purchased the $69.95 coupon on Angies List for a dryer vent cleaning and repair call from Pro-tech Applicance. Rod, the owner, contacted me promptly after the online purchase and I set up an appointment for him to come to my home. He arrived on Saturday at the appointed time, and quickly diagnosed the problems as 1) bad heating coils and 2) a small metal toggle cord end cap caught in the dryer. Rod replaced the coils, removed the foreign object and cleaned the dryer vents. Cost for this repair was about $39.00. In addition Rod looked at my dishwasher and cleaned the trap for me and charged nothing for this service. Rod knows his business, is extremely honest and his charges are very reasonable. I could not be more pleased and give Rod and Protech Applicance the highest recommendation. I will certainly be calling on him again whenever I am in need of appliance repair or installation. FIVE STARS!!!!

The owner showed up and determined the problem. He told us that he needed to order the part and would call when it came in to schedule the repair. He said it would take about a week. When the part did not arrive as he planned, they called to let us know that they were expecting the part shortly. They called later that day to schedule the repair. The young man who came was very nice and courteous. It took his less that 1/2 hour to replace and clean up. The cost was exactly what the estimate was. Great experience!

Our Whirlpool Dryer shorted out a few times, and eventually stopped working. Contacted Pro-Tech Appliance on February 26, 2014. Receptionist was friendly and helpful and an appointment was scheduled the next day. The service provider (Rodney) was very professional. He found a coin that had fused inside the dryer (causing the shorting) and replaced a damaged hose. Answered all questions and offered helpful advise. Pro-Tech Appliance would be my first call for any appliance problems in the future.

Showed up on time. Was friendly and knowledgeable. Did a thorough cleaning of the vent which was very clogged for an excellent price. However, he did not clean up and left a very large pile of lint just sitting behind the house that we had to try and pick up. There is now a layer of lint matted to the ground all around the area. Also, our dryer vent cover was lost in the process. He said he left it on the deck right next to the vent area, but it was no where to be found after he left. We had to buy an ill-fitting replacement cover since we couldn't find an exact match to the original. (There are many wild animals that frequent the area under the deck, so a vent cover IS necessary.)

The company called right away and told me that they could not assist with a front load washer. Very prompt in responding.
