Birchcrest Tree & Landscape Inc

They cut it into pieces way too large to carry, some weren't even completely separated; and left beer cans behind. When I complained they did nothing. (now, in all fairness, I don't know for sure who left the beer cans; but there have never been any there before in 20 years; so I presume it was them.

The initial contact was with Micah Burns, who was very informative and professional. We explained what we wanted to have done and he offered options to meet our needs. After we selected the stone and design a tentative date was given of 4-6 weeks. Since it is a landscaping company, weather plays a big part in the schedule. Work was not started until after 7 weeks due to heavy rain in the area. I was contacted after 6 weeks to schedule the start. The employees arrived on time, went right to work and cleaned up the area as they progressed. The job took two days and the finished product is fantastic.They replanted some plants that they had moved, plus seeded, fertilized and mulched the finished area. Very, very pleased with our experience. I have only one concern. After setting up the work schedule start dated, they failed to contact us when it was going to be delayed by one day. I did get a phone call later in the day from Mr. Burns to apologize , but it would have been nice to know at the beginning of the day so I could have done my errands.

See above for details listing what was done on my property by Birchcrest. I am very pleased with the outcome. Each of the workers represented the company in a professional manner. I was in my home the entire time the work was being done. I watched as they did their work and was quite pleased with their work ethics. Whenever I had to speak with the workers to give my opinion or add a suggestion, they were always ready to listen and always accepted my input. I was also pleased with the office staff and their response to any questions I had. I love the way my garden now looks. I am very pleased that Birchcrest sculpted it in such a way that I will be better able to manage and enjoy it. I would recommend Birchcrest to anyone who needs professional work done in their garden at any time, and plan to definitely use this landscape company for future work.

I am very unhappy with the services provided by Birchcrest. I used them in the past for tree removal and was very happy with them, and they were the first company I went to when I needed a section of my lawn graded and reseeded. Since the original work was done last September they have been back at least twice and there are still some bare patches. The latest time that they returned I had to call twice before someone came, and then there was no sign that anyone had been there, and the grass seed that was apparently put down was completely scattered by the lawnmower the next day because it hadn't been tamped down and we didn't know to avoid the area. The job doesn't look professional and I feel that I probably could have done as good a job myself for a lot less money.

I cut down a tree myself and needed someone to remove the stump. Brichcrest is actualy the third company I called. The other 2 places I called never showed up so I decided to call a "real" landscape company. The estimator showed up the same day and gave me a price which was less than I expected. Someone showed up with a stump grinder a couple hours later and ground the stump to dust. I was very happy and quite stunned at how easy and fast it was to get that stump removed. From now on I'm going to call them first!

We believe the estimate was well timed and helpful, they provided a few details we did not think of. We have a large, sloped rock garden that dates to the 1930's. The work was scheduled and done well. They did a nice job to match our older rocks, blending the old with the new. All repairs were done and holding up strongly.

Birchcrest Tree & Landscape Inc's reputation on Angie's List was very good as far as professionalism and landscaping. I needed both landscaping and tree work done. Although I had looked for people that had that description in the business, the tree seemed to be the biggest issue with the people I did try to use. It was just about the same price with Birchcrest Tree & Landscape Inc as if I went with two different people for the work I needed. The other company that came close would have referred the tree work to another contractor as Birchcrest Tree & Landscape Inc did not.

They were punctual and very nice but the estimate was more than twice the amount quoted by another company and about 4X the lowest estimate we received. I wouldn't recommend for "average" landcape jobs.

Birchcrest Tree & Landscape were professional and they were good. They are definitely the people I'm going to get by Spring. The man that came out was a certified arborist and he was quite knowledgeable. He didn't want to just cut everything down. They emailed me the quote withing the day.

I asked Birchcrest to send an arborist to look at a large hemlock tree on my property that was turning a brownish color, showed no signs of new growth, and had small holes in the bark. Other hemlocks nearby were green and showed new growth. They sent an arborist out to examine the tree and he confirmed that there was extensive borer damage, and that the tree should be cut down, chipped, and removed. Birchcrest came out promptly to remove the tree, grind the stump, add top soil and landscape the area. There was no trace of the tree when they were completed.

I called them and attempted to get an estimate for work I needed done, and I never even received a return call.

Overall, the experience was great. They came and took a look at the site, sent us some preliminary drawings, e-mailed stone type pictures, took into account that we have an active toddler and dog. They also considered how much rain we get (we live by the lake) and the soil conditions. I was very concerned that my wild roses would be damaged by the heavy equipment - but they took care of those too.

The estimate was amazing they sent out an actual Arborist to inspect the damage to my trees and go over my options for care and he even gave me future suggestions for setting up a garden. An extremely helpful individual. I had obtained several other estimates and although they were the most expensive i felt the price reflected the knowledge i was paying for. But the next few steps were disappointment. I called the office to set up a time for Birch Crest to come do the job and their office was less then helpful. She seemed more concerned with charging my credit card and getting off the phone then discussing the services I was interested in. Another problem was scheduling there services, be prepared to work with their schedule she was very difficult and bordered on rude when I explained that i wanted to be home at the time of service. After 2 phone calls discussing it we reached an accommodation. From there things improved once again. The workers were punctual, professional, and personable they arrived on time were extremely careful not to damage my lawn and went above and beyond in the clean up portion. I am still waiting for their return trip for the mulch and will update my review accordingly. Birch Crest get a slightly lower grade because of the difficulties of their office but if you can overlook that they are a top notch service.

Quality of work seemed good. Price was rather high considering the amount and difficulty of work performed. Next time I will consider gathering multiple estimates before having our tree trimmed.

Placed a call Friday morning for firewood delivery. Their answering service (a real person) took down my information. Received a call back sometime Monday, but I was already done stacking the wood I had delivered from another company that was more expensive, but was willing to call me back the same day and deliver the next day. The outsourced answering service was a nice touch, but it didn't win my business without a timely followup.

I would not hesitate to use their services in the future, as I have said, and look forward to continuing work at our home!

Dave provided a professional, fair estimate for the work being performed. He answered all questions quickly. His crew was neat and cleaned up at the end of each day. When I had a small issue, it was resolved quickly and without any hassle. The project came out just as I had hoped. I would recommend Birchcrest and will use them again.

Excellent.. Estimate response was quick and very well explained. Work was scheduled and completed in just past one month. Workers were very professional and worked very hard. Overall project was a success and the area looks great today a year later.

They were very clean and very professional. They were in and out very quickly. It was a good experience.

I called for an estimate on leveling a small potion of my yard for a pool. I emailed pictures of my yard and was told over the phone that it would be $500 I requested he come out and look anyway to be sure. I received an estimate 2 days later. He was at my home and stated that it would be more like $2000 At that point I knew that if that were true,(he was my first estimate) I would not be putting a pool in the back yard. I asked if he could get back to me with an estimate for the side yard and he said he would but never called. I have since received another estimate. He said it will be 500-600. Waiting on a third estimate and may wait til the spring at this point to put up a pool:-/ The thing that bothered me was not even getting a call back for work on my side yard.

They did a fine job. It was a reasonable price and looked good. They cleaned up well. I met with the arborist and he was very friendly and gave me ideas on what to do and what trees needed trimming and which didn't. He was very professional and honest. We didn't shop for bids so not sure if the cost was competitive.

They did a great job. The clean up is immaculate. They picked up everything from large branches to the smallest twigs even during the walk around with me after the job was done.

They sent an arborist out here to take a look at what I needed, and give me a free estimate. Two other companies I called gave me quotes over the phone that were twice or three times as much. Birchcrest’s prices are reasonable, and they do a professional job. I plan to use them again.

The trimming went well and quickly. They were in and out in about an hour and even mulched a few limbs that were piled up in the corner of the yard. They did have a bit of a communication problem between crews. The crew that trimmed the tree was different from the crew that performed the stump grinding, but the stump grinding crew didn't show until I contacted the company to ask why the stump was still there. They apologized profusely and the next morning the stump was gone.

Bob came out and gave me an estimate after I told him what I wanted. His crew came out and removed the tree and the shrubs and left NOTHING behind but the stumps. A couple of days later (weather problems) they came back with a stump grinder and chewed them up pretty good. I was able to plant a new tree in the same spot with no trouble. Fast and efficient group.
