They fertilized and treated the lawn on a scheduled basis throughout the season. Though a few weeds did pop up, the grass overall was thick and healthy. The technician was very professional and friendly.

The Company always sends out a professional landscaper to go over with you what it is that you want done. Then he makes suggestions to you with no pressure. They are reasonable, prompt and do the work when they say they will do it. You can count on them and that says it all.

They didn't charge me to come out and do the estimate. They were responsive for the estimate.

M. They did an extremely bad and seemingly quick job leaving a mess behind and compromising our property value in our opinion. Although they have done very good work for us in the past our last few were disappointing. Trying to get a response from them has been just short of impossible. They seem to ignore phone calls and emails. After 4 or 5 attempts they did come out and with the regard to the RG&E work, admitted it was a bad and sloppy job. Their initial response was that "it WILL grow back." The rep that came out was personable but blamed the contract stipulations with the utility. However his description of those stipulations would have had no impact on the destructive job. He noted that many homeowners had complained but it apparently did not make much difference to Birchcrest. He was kind enough to say he would have the crew return to clean things up but this never happened. He also agreed to contact the contract manager at RG&E and get back to me but that also never happeneded. After being quite satisfied with the $7K+ work the did for us the quality of their work and response changed drastically. We have a large job that has to be done in Spring and we will not be having Birchcrest involved.

Late 2013 my lawn (a quarter acre lot) was rutted from mower wheels and the grass, particularly under the trees, was sparse. Birchcrest agreed to "top dress ruts and bare spots with topsoil. Slice-seed sunny mix" for $1950 which they did 9/4/13. My job was to keep the seed moist until it was up and growing. This spring (2014) the entire lawn looked fabulous. For an additional $500 Birchcrest agreed to make five visits during the year to inspect and treat the lawn, which they did. During the summer the area under the trees looked progressively worse and at this point (October) it is pretty much bare dirt. I asked their representative during the fifth scheduled treatment why this was so. She agreed it looked very poor and said someone from Birchcrest would call me. Didn't happen. A month later I called Birchcrest and was told somebody had been out to look at the problem and concluded it was my fault for not watering under the trees regularly all year. Nothing was said about a need for that when the contract was written, when the work performed, or during the five inspect and treat visits this year - even though it was a continuous, progessive deterioration during the year. The majority of the lawn that receives a lot of sunlight still looks very nice so my $2500 was not a complete waste, but the shaded areas honestly look worse than they did before the work. My fault? I will not be using Birchcrest next year.

They were professional, thorough, great cleanup and re-seeding, all done promptly for a competitive price.

The work was done well, and wood was cut and stacked. Clean-up was not so good -- A lot of sawdust and small pieces of wood were thrown into patches of ivy growing in the back yard, and it was difficult for me to clean up the mess. One of the workers took a large log with him without asking.

We did not use their service.

Birchcrest removed two trees and large overgrown hedge. They then ground all stumpage and removed all debris. They also landscaped the area where they worked and planted new grass. It went great, no complaints or problems. They were accommodating to our schedule and the work was all done on time - weather dependent. We have used them in the past and have never had a problem.

From the planning to the execution they were on time and provided the exact service they promised. Their two works were polite and efficient.

Short term, it looked great. We paid to have a very low maintenance landscape installed, but unfortunately the goal has only partially been achieved after two years. We went with full coverage of all beds with weed preventive matting covered by stones. All beds were then trimmed with interlocking bricking. We also had below ground piping installed for gutter drainage. After two years, the matting only partially works, the stones still look great though. The bricking has come loose in several areas and the interlocks have come unlocked. And the below ground drainage has up-heaved. Part of this is due to mother nature, but part of it is also due to workmanship that could be better. I plan to use Birchcrest again (and have used them since this full overhaul), but I tend to do more in-process inspection and am much more demanding during the work process. Given the amount I pay for the premium work done by Birchcrest, I'd not expect the need to do this.

They're very professional. They're very quick to come here and looked at what needed to be done. The next day, I received the bid via email. They did not go over the bid, that was via email and that was very upfront, plain and easy to understand so there are no questions. They did a follow up call. There were no issues with them. He called up and set up an appointment to come out here and he was here at that time.

Everything was done as agreed, although we did have to call to remind them to finish the new bed. However, the weather was a factor, and they did finish the job as promised.

the two gentlemen were very helpful and professional and the work looks beautiful. i thought the price was very high.

We were very concerned about a tree that was split down the middle from a storm. The men from Birchcrest came promptly and cut down and removed the tree. We were very satisfied with their work.

It took quite awhile to get a guy out to do the initial estimate (several weeks). However I booked the trimming and the guys arrived right on time and spent a good 4 hours at our house and did a great job trimming our huge tree. It looks fantastic and they cleaned everything up.

They came and did their job in an expeditious manner.

Used them twice already. I used them before in 2008. Trimmed up the canopy on another tree in my other property. They do a good job. Cleaned up the debris, chipped it and were care about not doing any damage to the property. They were on time and did a good job.

We wanted an estimate on a tree removal. The whole attitude of the man sent to our house was unacceptable. It was as if he had better things to do, didn't think questions on our part were important nor deserved answers. He was very pretentious and rude. This is not the first time we've called Birchcrest for estimates on something. We wanted landscaping estimates a few years ago and went with someone else and again for a large line of tree plantings and went somewhere else. They are also always at the top of the price quotes that we get. The office is just as rude and unfriendly. Not sure why they're supposedly so popular.

Very good job, clean up was excellent and they were careful to not damage my lawn or property. What I wanted.

It went very smoothly--they are very efficient and clean up when finished.

I had an old brick patio that was torn out and redone and a small set of wooden steps in my back yard. The patio is very nice and the craftsmanship is top notch. I had a few issues with the stairs and they did come out and replace some damaged boards without hassle. The owner and his crew were very professional and cleaned up each day of the work. They addressed my concerns and were done when they said they would be.

I will not know for awhile.

It seemed to me that they were very late every time they had to treat my lawn. By being late, I mean at the very end of their alternate schedule. The reason given was that they were very short-handed. We used them until our contract ran out at the end of the season. This year I decided to to treat the lawn myself. The lawn is so lush and weed free so far this season. it is possible that the treatments last season by Birchcrest may have helped me this year, along with the rain in this spring, and with my own efforts on spreading my own store-bought chemicals.

They were supposed to come back to grade the area. I have been waiting 2 months for service. Called a couple of times and was given flip answers with still no set date. I called on May 27th to cancel the service call.
