Birchcrest Tree & Landscape Inc

See my description above: it went extremely well from start to finish. We appreciated the fact that Birchcrest left the work area neat and orderly each evening and took care to meet our town's erosion rules.

I have no doubt Birchcrest does beautiful work, I just could not afford their services.

They were on time appointment for the appointment. They were courteous. I just chose to not have the work completed.

They came when they said they would,. The tree removal took only a couple of hours, and it was a huge tree. I had an issue with the huge sizes of some of the lengths left behind, and so they returned and cut up some of the larger chunks to where they could be cut up with regular chainsaws. After I had friends remove the remaining firewood, Birchcrest returned and completed the stump grinding. Because it snowed for days, nothing else could be done and whatever was out there was covered for weeks until last week (end of Dec., beginning of Jan.) when they returned to break up the frozen ground, remove the grindings with a backhoe, put down topsoil and smooth the entire area. All of the work was done with precision and professionalism. The contract was understandable and the only thing I needed to do was write the check and, except for my request to have the largest chunks cut into manageable pieces, there was no need for me to even be home since they knew what to do and how to do it. I cannot speak highly enough about the great service they provided. I would use them again in a heartbeat. From start to finish it went like clockwork with no prompting from me.

Birchcrest is wonderful. They sent an arborist to go over all the trees in my yard and help me to know what each needed (this was free of charge) and then they worked with me to develope a plan to keep the trees healthy and looking nice. By the time I contracted for some of the work it was late in the season and since we had an early snow fall I thought the work would probably not get done---but Birchcrest showed up to trim / remove trees dispite about 8 inches of snow on the ground and more falling. They have done other work for me and they are always timely, polite and professional.

They seemed more logical than the other companies.

The guy from Birchcrest did a thorough inspection of the work described and convinced me that the work was unnecessary and not worth the amount of money it would cost (the benefits did not exceed the cost). He could have easily done the work and taken my money, but he did the right thing. It is hard to find honest businessmen like this some times.

It went well. They were prompt in sending someone to give an estimate, but then they forgot to call back to send me the estimate once it was done. After I called again, they promptly scheduled the lawn treatment and yard cleanup and got it done promptly as well. They did a good job, and I felt the prices were reasonable.

They were great. They were expensive.

They were very professional, punctual and finished the work on time. After installation of the patios, they also undertook hardscaping and painting of the same. They were very good in their job. I will use their services in future.

I called the office for an estimate, and was given a prompt appointment at a time convenient to me. The gentleman who came to estimate my project was professional, knowledgable and helpful. He was ten minutes late for our noon appointment, but called me in advance to advise, and asked if it would work for me. It did. The 20 minutes or so that it took to walk my property with him felt more like the lesson I needed than a sales pitch. After he walked my lawn, he wrote up a two part estimate- one for work I needed done right away, and another for trimming and caring for two large trees, which I will likely contract with Birchcrest to do in the future- and he gave me the written estimate and explained it thoroughly before he left. He did not pressure me to use their services, but I asked him to move forward with the work. He advised that it could take up to four weeks before they could begin my one-day project, as this is their busy season, and he marked the trees to be removed before he left. All this was managed on my lunch hour. The work was completed around two weeks after my estimate. I was not home when it was performed, but did not need to be. It took me a few minutes when I came home before I even noticed that the trees and bushes had been removed because there were no traces of garbage, limbs, branches or leaves in my yard or driveway. They had removed the five trees and bushes and filled the holes with topsoil, per my quote. In addition, above and beyond the contract and my expectations, they also seeded my lawn in places where it had been affected, filled in numerous holes in my yard that my dog made and filled in a 2' by 15' section along the edge of my yard where the dirt was around 6" lower than that of my yard, but where I had indicated to the "salesman" that I intended to replant grass. In all of this, they barely disturbed the perenials planted all around the trees and shrubs that were removed. Overall, I was very impressed with the work and quite pleased at the value added services they provided. I will use their services agan in the future.

Sometimes I wonder what attention I will get for a small $ service. Well, Birchcrest exceeded my expectations in both promptness and quality of service. An estimate was given over the phone, given my description. A final quote was provided within 48 hours. Mailed in my payment. Within a week the job was done and work site was left neat....and this was a stump grinding job too. Will use Birchcrest again.

It was easy to make an appointment for an estimate and to schedule the work. The work was done according to the estimate. Great job. I have complete confidence in this company.

They were quick in responding to our emails and phone calls. They followed through on what they said they were going to do in the timeframe they said they were going to. Things had worked out quite well.

I chose them because I found them with a very good reputation on Angie?s List. I know that they?ve done a lot of work in this neighborhood, and they did some work for a friend of ours not too far away. They did a good job on the tear out. It was very good working with this company. We had a particular person who worked with us. They were very responsive and their crew was excellent. The price was reasonable but I know that they are more expensive than some. I know that I could have gotten this specific work done at a lesser cost. They were here when they said they would be. The only issue was that, because this was part of their busy season, we had to clarify their schedule and make sure that we were in the schedule relative to the other things. They responded well to that. We did the work in preparation for some rehabilitation on the exterior of the house. I am considering them for a re-landscaping where we did the tear out but I haven?t contacted them yet.

Work crew was very effecient and extremely careful in their work and treatment of the surrounding property. The hardscaper did a beautiful job. They completely cleaned up when they were done. Very easy to get along with and make changes with as we went along. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

They did a very nice job- the trimming was exactly what I wanted.

Did a fantastic job and were excellent. Clean up was perfect and were professional. Showed me how to trim my magnolia tree. Spent time with me teaching me something. I misunderstood something on the contractor and the manager handled the situation perfectly and the issue was resolved calmly.

I initially emailed and requested a free estimate and corresponded with a woman who was very personable and prompt in her responses. Someone came to my house that same week and left the estimate on my front door. I mailed it back with my deposit check. I did have to follow up to request an appointment even after they mailed me a thank you card for the deposit. The only other minor glitch was a misunderstanding of what exactly I wanted (somehow they over looked the lilacs at the back of the yard) but that was easily rectified for a small addition the cost. The guys who did the work arrived promptly, they did a great job and were super friendly, courteous, professional and thorough. They even saved me the lilacs! The cleaned everything up and were gone in just a couple hours. I'm very pleased.

I contacted Birchcrest via the email address on their website, and they called me back within 24 hours. We talked about what I wanted done, and they came out and gave me an estimate (I was at work, I didn't even have to be home), within the next 24 hours. The price was entirely reasonable, so I agreed - and then the work was done within a week. Here's the kind of company they are - they put red ties on the trees they recommended we remove to get some light into our backyard, and neighborhood kids came and took the ties down for some game or other. When I called to let them know, they were back within a day and marked the trees with spray paint - without a word of complaint or grumbling! I would not only recommend this company, I will likely be going back to them to have more work done shortly!

Took four weeks from time of estimate. Work crew did a good job but didn't do extent of work we expected. Questions came up and they made a decision to do less vs. more w/o contacting us. However, company rep met with us and agreed to send crew back out to perform job to our satisfaction which we appreciated. Nothing wrong with the company's customer service but they could do more to make the customer feel his business is valued.

Birchcrest arrived on time and performed the work efficiently and cleanly.

We were given an estimate with suggestions for other work that could be done, including a dead tree removal from the back of the property. All of the work was out of our budget for the fall so I asked if we could only do part of it. He told me to cross off what I didn't want done and he would only do what is not crossed off. The service was performed perfectly with no issues and perfect clean up. A little sawdust was the only evidence and I was sleeping when the work was performed. They were quiet and flawless in execution. I would use them again and recommend them to all my friends.

After a bad experience with another tree service, I called Birchcrest to get an estimate. The person who gave me the estimate was very prompt and professional. I agreed to have the work done and he told me that they would be back in 2 or 3 weeks to do the job. After 3 weeks, I called the company to find out when they would arrive and found out that we were scheduled for the following Thursday. They arrived when they said they would and I was pleased with the work that they did.
