EVERYTHING WENT AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. WHEN JOB WAS FINISHED I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW BEAUTIFUL GRANITE STEPS COULD LOOK. MY WIFE ALSO THOUGHT THE GRANITE STEPS AND TILE LOOKED GREAT. I WAS ASSURED BY THE BOSS THAT IF ANYTHING WAS FOUND WRONG LATER TO CALL HIM AND HE'D FIX IT. IT FELT GOOD TO HEAR THAT. IF SOMEONE WANTS TALENT THESE MEN SEEM TO HAVE IT.

4/14/2015 update: Appreciate Mr. Singh came out on Sat to take a look our place and gave us estimates. He seems knowledgeable and gave us references to check the works he has done. We are looking into his references. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Never showed up to the appointment. When I called back to find out what happened, he pretended he never confirmed the appointment with me. He claimed that he was supposedly to call me back to confirm the appointment. So no call back = no appointment. When I was trying to reschedule, he didn't sound too interested at all. Therefore I decided to cancel the appointment over all. Very unprofessional.

Excellent job - Ryan was very responsive and reliable. He quickly followed through and the job was done in a timely and thorough manner.

It went pretty good and my only complaint was that the owner dropped three employees off who did not speak English and it was difficult communication.

I can highly recommend City Suburb if someone wants roof work done promptly and professionally. Ryan from City Suburb gave me a written estimate the day after his visit and followed through with updates until finished. I hope to use this company again.

They did a good job! I felt it was a fair price and good quality work. They were on time for the most part and finished the job a few days early. They also did a good job in cleaning up afterwards. I would recommend their services to others.

Things went well with the work done on the side and back of the house. They were able to come a few days earlier than planned and completed that portion of the work in one day. Looked clean and neat. The stairs/cement work was completed in 2 days. The granite capping on the sides of the stairs needed to be replaced. It appeared they used pieces of granite tread rather than a bull-nosed cap and cemented it onto the sides. The owner was contacted and he came to see discuss our concerns. He came the next day to replace the caps (though they should have the been the correct caps in the first place).

I called to make an appointment. The man who answered first told me he couldn't talk and would call me back. He called back a short while later only to tell me to call him next week to make an appointment.

City Suburb arrived on time and did the work contracted. They were punctual and very courteous. I feel very comfortable with the work they did. I would definitely use them again in the future and would highly recommend them. I have worked with awful people in the past, so I also checked them out on BBB (Better Business Bureau) and they have an "A" rating. They also honored the coupon on Angie's List. They were GREAT!

Paul answers all requests immediately, politely and extremely professionally, he does great work. Paul has helped my wife and myself before, always a gentleman, trustworthy, a pleasure to deal with. I give my very highest recommendation to Paul for others to contact him for their needs.

It went very smoothly. After the initial phone call, I decided to use them to fix my roof. Very easy to contact and they came and fixed the leak and put a layer of rubber roofing on very quickly and as scheduled. I would use them again.

Bought a Roof Maintenance Package for $99. Tried to schedule an appointment. Every time I sent them a message, they just answered "Thanks". I was so frustrated I hired another contractor on the list who had good reviews but no "deals".

After an estimate and making arrangements, the crew came in on a Saturday and took care of the work in a few hours. They seemed to work very efficiently, and the work was completed very well. They were punctual, professional, and showed me clearly what they were doing, so I would recommend this company to other Angie's List members.

Once we got the appointment finalized, Paul and his man were very punctual and fast working. There was a delay in making the appointment because the job was a small one and City-Suburb does not always work in Brooklyn. I have a small brownstone type house with a brick stoop and stair covered in slate which is cracking and peeling. The underside of the stoop is brick as are the stairs leading to the garden floor. All the seams on the stoop had to be recemented as was the brick structure underneath and the bottom stairs, one of which had lost a large chunk. All the joints had to be cut out and repointed. The right and left sides of the stoop were repointed. All this was done with waterproof cement. Paul repaired the missing slate areas with cement , leaving a good seam which is durable and attractive. The whole job took about 3 to 4 hours with two men. They were working steadily against a forecast of heavy rain that came much later that night. Paul left the area which is adjacent to my front garden very clean neat for which I was very satisfied. The reason that I did not use the Big Deal as offered was that it was not offered for Brooklyn which was in the fine print. Paul came to give me an estimate at my request and the price seemed very fair to me.

I met with Ryan the owner of the business for an estimate on the job. I explained that I wanted the stucco repaired and painted and theret was a section of the stucco that was bulging and I wanted that fixed. He gave me a price of $3500 to power wash the house and deck and paint and repair the stucco. When the job was started I saw that on the section where the stucco was bulging the workers only fixed the cracks and did not take out the bulge. I called Ryan and he said that to do that it would be a much bigger job and it would be a lot more money to rip the bulge in the stucco out. I was surprised at that but chalked it up to being a language barrier. n The rest of the job was done, the house looks nice and clean. The workers could have been neater but Ryan made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of the job.

They did a fantastic job, and in the 2 day time period they stated before the work started. I contacted them for an inspection and within in a week there were here, punctual, polite, and moved with urgency. the quality of the work is top-notch, and they did a thorough cleaning of the areas after they finished and before they left (a small detail, but a testament to their customer service and pride in their work).

He worked with me well around personal deadlines and weather. He has a big and brave crew and they got things done very professionally and very much on time after they arrived. I actually got 6 estimates for the job and I think he is both more able to deliver quickly and offers a better price. Only really tiny complaint, they trampled my hydrangeas. If you hire them, and I would recommend that you do,just watch that if you love your garden.

It was okay. he went up and he fixed some spots but he said I needed to have a new roof for $6500. It's not my house and my father passed away and I'm living there so I am trying to get my brothers' consent to get it fixed. There were two men and they were very courteous. They went up there on the roof and came back and described what they found up there. They said they patched up whatever they could but I still need a new roof for that house.

Needed some pointing work done on the front of the building due to water leaks. Contractor came out in a timely manner and gave us a quote. Although we didn't go with him, I would recommend him to others, and would call on him again in the future. He gave a detailed description of what needed to be done, and made other suggestions. He knows what he is doing as far as the codes etc are concerned. The price he quoted for the work was reasonable.

Only complaint I have is that he worked so fast (1 day) that I couldnt see the work before he was done (thought it would be 2 days). He threw 3 guys on it for 10 hrs.

Had water infiltration through the bricks on the back of my house during heavy rains. Found City-Suburb and Ryan on Angie's list and he promptly arrived at my house after scheduling an appointment to provide an estimate for the job. His price was right in line with a couple of other contractors that provided estimates so very fair. I chose them because they also included replacement of 2 window sills and water proofing on the stucco. He was also very responsive to my inquiries on updates for timing to start the job. They were able to start the job 2 weeks later which took 2 days. They arrived on time, were very professional and kept everything very clean. The job looks great and I highly recommend this team to do any masonry/water proofing job.

They responded to my phone call and came to five estimate the same day. They pleated me to the problems of the roof and chimney. They came back and did the work in less than half a day.

It was a pleasure getting Ravidener to work on our home. Initially it was difficult scheduling a time where he and I were available, but after quite a few back and forths, he did come. The reason I chose City Suburb for this specific work was because I wanted someone who specialized in exterior foundation walls, concrete, masonry work - that kind of stuff. In fact, before starting the job, I called Ravinder back a second time so he could look at the interior sheetrock wall of my basement window, because it looked wet and weak and peeling - and I asked if he could also fix that too. He declined, saying he only does exterior work. While I should've been disappointed, I was actually happy he didn't try to make a quick buck in something he may have potentially had little experience in. Originally he was supposed to come on Saturday, but we were hosting guests that day, enjoying our backyard. So we I asked if he could come the following day. He arrived around 7:30am on a Sunday morning, early, with another worker. This other worker stayed and did the work mostly by himself. I kept going outside every few hours to check the progress, and to ask him to fill in specific areas I had been eyeing for a while. That worker was courteous and kept saying, "anything you want, anywhere you want, you just tell me where, and I'll do it." After dealing with contractors for years, both good and bad, I've learned to constantly check in on the work and talk with them about what's going on. And he didn't mind at all. Very clean job - just like promised. Ravinder said he does this kind of work all the time, and that I'd be happy with the results - which I was. The price was reasonable too, he does offer senior discounts.

I contacted the provider on May 28th and set up an appointment for May 30th. When he did not show on time I contacted him via text and finally he responded to say "maybe this Sunday" which would have been June 1st. That Sunday he was also not available and told me via text that "Sat could work" and that he would call me on Friday. Once again he did not call or text me but when I followed up with him at 3:29 he replied via text "Ok, Tomorrow morning at 10". At 10:26 am I contacted him again and this time he called to say he was on a job in Queens and would call when he was on his way. He called about 1pm to say he was one minute away but then called back to say he was having difficulties getting to my house due to traffic (It is the day before the Puerto Rican Day parade and a block party does take place between 116th and 110th street). I advised that he try to get around it by going to 125th street and coming down. Unfortunately he called back to say he could not navigate around traffic and that he "cannot waste anymore time trying to get to my house". Update: the provider did contact me and made an appointment for that Sunday (June 8th) and inspected the roof, made minor repairs and provided an estimate on potential work (as per the terms outlined in the package I purchased). Based on his professionalism on site and prices for repairs I would be willing to give this company a second chance in the hopes that they would be more responsive in the future.

Company didn't answer my first 2 emails. Then when I called their one phone number, it wouldn't let me leave a message, when I called their second phone number, it wouldn't let me leave a message. Then I called a number that was home adviser that transferred me to them. At that point the guy said I was now 'out of his range' because I wasn't in Queens, but I am in a part of Brooklyn that was much closer to their offices than much of Queens. I guess they're busy now and don't want to do the work, but they were patronizing over the phone and non-responsive in general. As service providers I'm sure they do a decent enough job, but they completely and utterly lack in professionalism.
