Description of Work: I bought a special deal of $200 worth of gutter work for $99, and they sent a nice man to see what needed doing and write it up. I needed two sections of gutter to be re-pitched and fastened with the new style of fasteners. I also needed a second leader installed at another corner because the load on the existing one was too great & the gutter overflowed in heavy rain. I was able to schedule the work later, at a convenient time. They called the day before to confirm, and called about 20 minutes before arriving. The two guys who did the work, Peter and Michael, were great! Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, capable - did a perfect job in less than an hour. I would definitely use them again. |The only negative had nothing to do with the work done. When the first guy came to estimate and write up the work, he claimed that there was a $300 minimum, and that I had to spend at least $201 additional beyond the $99 I paid for the deal. I told him that both the description on Angie's List and the coupon I printed out after buying the deal said nothing about a $300 minimum and I wasn't going to spend that much. He realized he had to back down or I'd cancel and demand my money back, so he agreed to do the work described for the $99 I'd already paid plus the cost of the leader, which he claimed was $128. That seemed reasonable to me, so I went ahead. He was a nice guy, but there was definitely a miscommunication within his company. Hopefully they learned from this experience, because I think they're a good company.

Description of Work: An appointment was made for a free estimate re: my home's gutters after seeing their positive ratings on Angie's List. I contacted them through their website and was promptly called back a few hours later by a secretary who made an appointment for today ("between 11 a.m. and 12 noon") for "Ken, one of the co-owners" to come to my house. I made arrangements for my wife to be home for this while I was at work and gave them her cell-phone number to call in case there were any problems. They made no visit during that hour, made no call to either my wife or me, and I haven't heard from them yet. If this is how they respond when they WANT your business/money, I don't want to see how they are in finishing a job you've already contracted for. Truly disappointing. ---------------UPDATE, 11/14/2011 I've been contacted by the company, sending me a still-image "clip" of their appointment calendar showing the appointment scheduled for 11/17. I remain unconvinced, as I never would've arranged for my wife to remain home for the 11/10 time had we done that. I also would've entered it into my Google Calendar for 11/17, which I didn't do. While it is POSSIBLE the company is correct, it is also possible that the secretary who does scheduling made an error; I can't prove it either way and neither can they. All I can say is that I was pleased to hear they'd be coming on 11/10, made arrangements for that and no one came or called. I'm glad to hear the company takes appointments seriously, but I won't be accepting their offer of a visit on 11/17 for an appraisal. Out of fairness to them, I'm amending my score of "F" to "D".
