+ 0 moreIt went well. The first day's work was $488. The second days' worth of work was about $1500. He was fine. With regard to price, he is on the high end because it ended up being hourly as opposed to per job. He is licensed and insured. He has a master plumbing license. The quality, responsiveness and punctuality were excellent. His professionalism was good.
Description of Work: I used Michael's Plumbing, Heating & Mechanicals for plumbing. His name is Michael Burrell. He came over the course of two days. The first day was to basically repair several leaks in the home due to a de-winterization where the pipes had frozen. He changed the pipe, fixed the leaks and turned the water on. Then he had to return the second day in order to turn on the hot water. He did boiler maintenance and changed several valves and fixed leaks. He flushed the oil/sludge out of the oil tank in order to get the hot water up and running. It was an all-day project.

He sort of did a fix for me right now, but letting me know that in the future I need to do the similar major work, but he was able to fix sort of this temporary situation. He had very helpful advice.

Description of Work: I scheduled an appointment with Mike on Thursday June 27th. Mike was to come to my home the following day at 3pm. Not only did he not show up but he never even called to say he wouldn't be coming. We waited for two hours until I called him. He had no idea who I was or what the job was we had just reviewed less than 24 hours before.

+ 0 moreIt went great. He called me back Saturday morning after I had left an email late Friday night. He told me that he had another appointment to go to and would come when he was done. Though it was late afternoon when he completed his first job, he still came to my home and took the time to make the repair that was needed. It was an emergency, as the drain pipe had rusted through and was leaking in my basement and it was also clogged. He replaced the pipe and unclogged the sink. He was efficient, cleaned work area and priced very reasonably. Thank you again for quick, prompt service. I would highly recommend and will definitely use this company again in the future. Thank you!!!!!

I knew what the price was and this is what it was which was what he quoted me in the end. He came when he said he was going to come and he went above and beyond because there was one piece that wasn't available in any of the stores but he was able to find it a week later so he came back and was able to put that piece in. For the first job's installation there was something that needed adjustment so he came back at no charge. He was a pleasure to deal with.

+ -1 moreMy situation wasn't an emergency since it was in a drain line and only leaked if I turned on the faucet. I called in the afternoon and he came out the next morning. Even though the sink is old and all of it needs replacing eventually, he didn't try to sell me on replacing everything he just replaced the parts that were worn out and leaking. He is very knowledgeable, thorough and professional. He left the work area clean and took away the old parts.

I only gave him a B in professionalism because he had to leave the job half finished for a Dr.'s appointment and come back later in the day. This did not matter to me since I was working from home that day however, it was not very professional. On the plus side he is great at what he does and seemed to be the only plumber I have had to date that really knew my system and how to purge it completely.

+ -1 moreMike is thorough. He explained everything so we who are not plumbers could understand what the problem was, and what repairs would be necessary. In all ways Mike was the conummate professional. We now have a plumber we can trust.
Description of Work: We found Mike on Angie's list. We called him and prayed that he could fix our furnace which had been shutting off multiple times over the past 15 years causing multiple calls by us to another well known plumbing company who would fix it and then needed to come back every 4 to 8 weeks to service it or attempt to fix it again.....costing us thousands of dollars over the years. Mike found the problem immediately,fixed it and did not charge us an arm and a leg! Recently we called Mike to replace a water tank that had developed a corrosion hole. He assessed the problem,gave us a price,picked up a new tank,installed it within the time frame he said he would and all is functioning well as we knew it would. Mike always calls back when you call him. He comes when he says he will and calls if he will be late. He works efficiently and when he gives an estimate it is always accurate. He is honest; if he knows he can't fix something, he tells us and recommends someone more qualified and licensed to do so. We have lived in our home about 20 years and are so happy we finally found a plumber we can rely on and trust! We recommend him very highly!

+ -1 moreHe was very good. Much better then other plumbers I have had. I thought it would be an all day job but he was done in two or three hours. He was clean, efficient, and he explained everything very clearly to me. He had all tools with him, came prepared. As a comparison, I had used another plumber in the area and had a similar problem about 5 years ago and I spent $1500. Big difference. The price was very reasonable. The labor rates are high, but he was so efficient by the end of the day he was a lot less money. He also did a few small jobs afterwards in less then 45 minutes. He was all booked up but told him if anyone cancels let me know and I will make time. He called the next morning and was there the next day due to a cancellation. He would call ahead and let you know when he would be there and sure enough he would be there. Very thoughtful. He was all business. He was good.
Description of Work: I used Michael's plumbing to fix the leaks on my sewer line. I had three leaks that he fixed.

After explaining what I needed, he said most of what needed doing wasn't the sort of work he does (pure plumbing); but he gave me contact information for someone he'd worked with whose work he was confident in, so I contacted the person he referred me to. Several months later, when the other work was finally done, Michael came out and did the plumbing, along with fixing some other things around the condo. I was, and am, quite pleased with his work.

He worked quickly and finished the small plumbing issue with no difficulty. He also cleaned up after the job and encouraged me to call if I had any questions or issues after the job. I will definitely recommend Michael to my friends and colleagues when they ask for a referral for a residential plumber.
Description of Work: A loose toilet in a seldom used bathroom had started leaking from the base. The bolts holding the toilet to the anchoring flange had come loose and could not be tightened. The toilet needed to be removed, the flange and wax seal replaced and the toilet reset. Also, some interior parts had worn out, and a new inlet hose installed.

+ 0 moreOverall Michael did an excellent job. We had several plumbers come to the house over the past few months and no one got it right. We have lived with radiators staying on 24 hours a day and not responding to the different zones nor could the thermostats respond properly. We had month after month of unbelievable heating bills; and the heat in our house on the average was 79 - 84 degrees. If it was a warm day the temp in our house raised to 85. Michael found the exact problem, traced it to the source and replaced all the parts. He showed us what caused the problems and he also recommended what we need to do in order to keep our heating to work efficiently. Other plumbers recommended we get a new boiler and heater which would have cost us about $8K to $12K which we did'nt have. But Michael's solution cost us under $335.00. He is not only professional but very informative. Thanks to him our heating bills will decrease. We would always recommend him over and over. We are already have him on standby for the plumming of our new soaker tub, we are just waiting for the delivery.
Description of Work: Michael came on time and even called ahead to let us know the approximate time of his arrival. He examined our boiler and hot water heater, and explained that the problem was a damaged zone valve for the second floor. There was some other minor issues with the therm thermostats which was corrected.

+ -1 moreThe 10 year old Kohler shower fixture no longer maintained the set water temperature when water was drawn by other devices(eg. washing machine,dishwasher,etc). I wanted to repair the fixture without replacing the entire valve which would have required opening the wall behind the fixture to access the valve. The interior parts of the valve can be removed from the front without disturbing either side of the wall. Michael removed the old parts, got new ones from a Plumbing Supply business, and installed them. There were several parts that were tricky to assemble and install. The entire job took approx. 2 hours including travel time to the Plumbing Supply. The shower fixture works fine now.
Description of Work: Replaced the interior parts of a constant pressure shower fixture.
