Description of Work: My first experience with Angie's list I had ordered a replacement dishwasher and it came and I thought I would put it in myself. The next day I wound up in the hospital for 2 weeks with a back infection. So the first day I got back I called and they immediately put us on for that day and showed up only two hours later. They we're clean, kind, efficient and overall cannot say enough for them.

We apologize for the misunderstanding. The appointment we had set up during the holiday season, unfortunately, had to be moved due to the high volume of higher priority emergencies. As a smaller company, we have to sometimes make the tough choice as to which calls we are able to make it to, and which ones we are unable to. In this particular case, an estimate for a water filter was a lower priority than our other customers with no heat. We HATE to have to move appointments, however, in this line of work, it can often be a necessity. In terms of not returning calls. We were in touch with you throughout, however when we did return your call the final time in order to explain the rescheduling, we were unable to get a hold of the customer. We truly apologize for the misunderstanding. During cold spells, coupled with the holiday season, it can be difficult to follow up several times. We hope that we can have an opportunity to come and do work for you and show how professional we truly are.

Description of Work: The plumber did not arrive at the agreed to time. I had to phone him. After he arrived and serviced my furnance he told me about other items that needed attention. Though hesitant, I agreed to have him do additional work. As a result he turned on valves that caused water to run into my living room and upstairs bathroom. My couch was soaked and bathroom held an awful smell for weeks. He discounted his fee...but I can only hope that I don't develop mold problems in the future. Didn't turn out to be such a good deal after all for me.

This was a tricky situation. Unfortunately for both the customer and our company, the previous contractor who worked on the unit did not mark any valves indicating a shut down zone. With that zone being shut down, it must have frozen and caused breaks in the line. Upon refilling the boiler, that particular zone was indeed filled with some water. Luckily, due to the knowledge and keen observation of the technician, a very small amount of water made it to the zone, averting a much larger problem for the homeowner. After finding the problem and explaining what happened to the homeowner, we immediately aided in the necessary cleanup. We also marked out the valves that needed to be kept shut. There was indeed a discount given to the customer, a good will gesture for the inconvenience. We also offered to pay for ANY substantial permanent problems that may have been caused by the unmarked valves being opened. I am very pleased with the way our technician handled the situation. It is a very unfortunate occurrence that could have been much worse. Our technicians quick thinking and reaction helped to mitigate further damage. Again, we apologize for the unpleasant circumstances, though we are happy we could be there to prevent a larger issue. We do hope that we will have another opportunity to show our complete competence and willingness to satisfy all of our customers.

Description of Work: Serviced my furnace, replaced a part for $171, in addition to the original cost. Two days later I had no heat. I called D Rhode who returned and checked out the furnace, lit the pilot light and said if it happens again a spill switch would have to be replaced. A day later I had no heat. I called D Rhode again who said the switch had to be replaced. It was a simple job so I followed his instructions and replaced the switch ($18.00) myself. It seems to be working fine now.
