Description of Work: we bought the special offer, called for an appt, couldn't see us for 10 days. Made next available appointment, gave details of what kind of AC, waited for appt, nice guy showed up and said they didn't service this type of AC, huge disconnect.

This was another example of a miscommunication between our office and the customer. Unfortunately, there are times when we can not make a determination as to what type of system someone has based on the limited information that we receive over the phone. This is one of those times. We were under the impression that it was a mini-split AC unit (Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, etc) however it was a window type unit. We do not normally work on these units due to the high repair cost versus replacement of the unit. We did not charge for our visit, despite a two hour round trip time. We hope that we can be of service in the future and that our communications can be improved upon.

Description of Work: An employee of D Rhode heating and plumbing showed up at my home and made a preliminary diagnosis of my problem and promised that the boss/owner would get back to me, but I have not heard anything else from them. I thought that was pretty inconsiderate since we were without hot water, and the employee was well aware of it.

I'm sorry that this happened the way it did, however we had left a message stating that we were unable to do the work due to licensing in your municipality. I'm guessing by this review that you did not receive that message. Hopefully you were able find someone to do the work. We apologize for being unable to perform the work you needed due to our inability to provide that type of service in your municipality. We'd be happy to help in any heating or AC capacity in the future, as those are types of work we are licensed to perform in your city.

Description of Work: Daniel Rhode arrived right on time and did a thorough checkout of our A/C Heat Pump combo unit. He was patient and professional, spending time explaining what he was doing and what the test readings meant. We were very pleased with the service and the $59 special was a definite bargain. I would use this service again and would consider purchasing a replacement unit from them when our 23 year old unit bits the dust.

We are not sure where your displeasure with our service came from. You had purchased a special AC tune up, we had come out and performed that tune up. While our technician was there, he noticed the refrigerant was low. He then let you know that and gave a price to add refrigerant. While he was adding the refrigerant, he noticed that there was a leak. He then performed a leak test, at no cost. The diagnostic, also not charged for, showed that there was a leak on the evaporator coil. Our technician researched the item and gave a price for replacement. Since this was a Carrier unit, the price was a bit expensive. Our technician made a recommendation to call a Carrier installer, as they can get better pricing on units than we can. Not only did our technician not charge for over $300 in service and material, but he also made a very honest recommendation to have another company, who could get parts at a cheaper price, to do the work. We pride ourselves on doing the right thing by our customers. In this case, our technician went above and beyond to be helpful and did not charge anything for the work he performed. We would love to know more about your dissatisfaction in order to prevent this from happening again.
