Joe and Shaun were extremely meticulous and thorough. The ducts were overdue for cleaning so it took longer than usual but theguys were professional and did a very nice job. They also taped down insulation in one duct and advised that it be replaced. I could not have had a better experience and highly recommend them. Also, the price was more than fair as there was a promotion on duct cleaning the week I had this done.
Description of Work: Cleaned and sanitized all air ducts, placed new filters in vents, cleaned up and replaced everything that was moved. They did such a nice job overall that once they were gone, I couldn't even tell that anyone had been working in my house.

Good. They tuned my boiler properly, and no fumes in basement. Keep in mind they have raised the price of their service contract to $365 for the coming year; seems high to me but will discuss this before renewing. Overall, very good service.

We had a mystery leak that had been leaking for a long time and caused the downstairs bathroom ceiling to partially collapse. I use Robison for our oil and heating services and have a service contract with them. They also have a plumbing division so I called them. They said they would be there between 12pm and 4pm. The service man showed up at exactly 12 noon. The young man came out and surveyed the damage and it turned out that the upstairs bathroom toilet's limiter was not working and the water would overflow into the overflow pipe within the reservoir. Not the typical running toilet issue as it was silent. However the resulting constant water refilling caused the reservoir to have condensation to the point of pooling water on the floor of the bathroom and slowly leaking through the floor. It ended up being a minor fix but it was handled quickly and efficiently.

They are VERY expensive, and very bureaucratic. Things take a long time to get done because of their multi- step process. They will still come in the middle of the night when you don't have heat.

As you know, the replacement of your heat exchanger was delayed due to your manufacturers approval. The "multi-step" process was a direct result of the manufacturers requirements in order to get full warranty approval. To avoid the shipping charges we traveled to New Jersey to pick up your heat exchanger. Dealing with manufacturer warranties can be difficult. However, we navigated through their process successfully to award you the full warranty.

This review really deserves two separate parts. One is for the people at the Robison office, and the other would be for the service tech that came to the house. I'll start with the service tech. Really nice guy. Punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and gave some great advice on how to maintain our heating system as well as made recommendations on what types of heating oil we should use. The office staff, however, is at the complete opposite end of the spectrum. We needed some additional plumbing work done as well as needed to reschedule our annual heating system cleaning that was canceled due to Sandy. We received a quote the prior year for the work, but decided to wait. When we asked about having the work done this year, the quoted us a price of more than double, but couldn't explain why the price was jacked up so much. Based on the details in the estimate, I was expecting a minor price increase, but could find no justification for the massive spike in price. I tried getting in touch with multiple people at Robison to gain an understanding of why the price was going up so high, but never got a response. Finally, when I threatened to go with a different plumber, who we eventually used, they got back to me and told me they would honor the prior year's quoted price. Unfortunately, the work had already been done by the other plumber as I was under the impression they would not be returning my calls. The other problem we had was scheduling our heating system cleaning. We had originally had our appointment scheduled for the week Sandy hit in October. The appointment had been scheduled for several months, long before anyone could conceive of such a massive storm. As we had no power, they were not able to come to the appointment, obviously. However, the earliest next appointment they had for us was not until the very end of March, when the heating season was coming to a close. Again, many phone calls placed, no return. I finally contacted the office of the CEO, and they were able to bump me up to January. I will be doing a lot of research this spring when our contract expires with Robison to find a different oil provider. They will need to step up their game in a major way if they are going to keep me as a customer. UPDATE: They were very helpful in getting the work finished. As I mentioned above, all of the technicians that come to our house are always great. I've had good experiences recently with customer service on the phone as well.

I am on an auto-delivery schedule and am pre-paid on bio-fuel. I switched to them because I wanted bio-fuel and they were giving a good promotional price but I have used them in the past and they tend to, after I have used them for a while, forget who I am. That's why I switch and go somewhere else. Then they beg me to come back and give me a good price for a year; it is kind of like a game with them and is a little annoying but I play the game to get a better oil price. They can be very pushy trying to get me as a customer. They are not much different than other oil companies I have dealt with; once they have you they forget that they have you.

We woke up New Years Eve morning realizing that we had no heat, and we were expecting company that night! We use Robison to deliver gas to our house, so we have a service contract with them. We called that morning to let them know and they said they would send someone over to our house as soon as they could. At about 10:00 am, a service man showed up, spent about 1.5 hours fixing the system, and voila! Heat back on! He explained to us what was the problem, and how we could fix it going forward. Needless to say, crisis averted! Great service on NYE!

Description of Work: We used Robison for heating oil, and we also signed up for a service contract. The oil was reasonably priced according to what we saw in the market, and they were one of only a few companies who didn't make us jump through hoops to get a price list to review. In fact, some of Robison's competitors would only disclose prices on the phone rather than via email, so you basically had to deal with a full on sales shtick before they'd get to the nuts and bolts of the costs involved. Very annoying, and one of the reasons we ultimately went with Robison. As for the service contract, we had 1 minor issue with our system, though it wasn't covered unfortunately. However the service guy was professional and knowledgeable and showed up right on time.

The owner/manager of the plumbing unit came to my home for a consult on oil to gas conversion. I had received competing offers and was prepared for his questions. I knew exactly what I wanted - from unit to placement - and Dom did not appreciate that. I received a wild and quot;since you know everythingand quot; from him and decided on the spot not to go with Robison. A week after the fateful visit and I still hadn't received a written estimate. Its a shame, I use them for oil delivery and they've been great. The work to be done is substantial and they are completely out of the running now all because of one uncontrolled man.

This report has been submitted on behalf of my son and written from his perspective. After discovering we were getting no hot water in the house, I called Robison since I already have a heating service contract with them. They told me the diagnostic would be covered under the service contract but if I needed any parts, that would be extra. It was the same thing they told before an earlier incident -- parts are extra. (in that incident of no heat, a stripped wire was causing a short. They found it, and fixed the issue at no cost (labor was covered under service contract) which I was very happy with.) A technician was sent out the next day. They were a little late which normally wouldn't be a huge deal but I did have a limited window. I was told the previous job had run much longer than expected. I was able to have my dad come over and let them in. (during previous calls, they were very punctual). The cause of the hot water issue was due to the thermocouple. They diagnosed it, replace the thermocouple and billed me for $155.Upon receiving the bill I was surprised at the amount. $155 seemed like a lot for a thermocouple (retails for about $15-$20 in Home Depot). Since I wasn't there during the time of repair I couldn't speak to the technician about it. I called customer service who was very pleasant but not able to give me answer right away and would have to look into it. I'm not sure if I was supposed to call back or they were going to call, regardless I sat on it and then received an invoice for it in the mail. I called again, spoke with Anthony in customer service who looked into the situation further. I had thought the part (i.e. thermocouple) was being marked up by 10x. It turned out I was also being charged labor. He explained that when a part is needed, the service contract becomes null and void. In other words, you are charged for the part AND labor. I told him that was disappointing as it was never explained to me like that. I knew I the parts would be extra but my understanding was that labor was included with the service contract. I asked why and continued to express my disappointment (very cordially mind you). In the end he was able to speak to the service manager and adjust the cost due to the confusion...which was very much appreciated!Based on their customer service, courtesy and willingness to work with me to come up with a solution, I will continue to using them and recommend them to others. While there may be cheaper options out there, the added benefits and support offered by Robison makes it all well worth it.

Don't use them. Their service and responsiveness is horrible. I should not have to beg them to take my money.
Description of Work: In July 2011 I contacted Robison for an estimate to replace my air conditioning units. After multiple calls, a salesman finally came to my house (Bill Snyder). He provided a pricing quote that was competitive but I decided to wait to replace the units until this year. I called them last week and gave them the quote and asked if someone could call me back to confirm that the details of that quote were still vaild (price, equipment, warranty, etc). In my opininion this was a slam dunk. Call me back and you have a $14K sale. After 3 days I still did not receive a phone call, so I called them to explain this and tell them that I am taking my business elsewhere. I think they need to look at their motto " The House that Service Built". Their service is not something to take pride in.

The service contract was $130. They were great. They explained everything and they were thorough. My oil tank was almost empty and as we were walking out to it one of their tanks drove by and he flagged them down to have them wait until he called in everything so they could fill the tank with oil. The price was good.

Billing department kept screwing up our account and left us with no oil one night. Through out the night, they said they would send someone out to take a look but never did until late in the morning while my whole family packed into one room so we can keep warm using a space heater.
