The men then proceeded to the back yard. There, they spent time blowing leaves out of my dog kennel and from around my deck. By the time they attacked the bulk of the leaves, they only had time to blow them all to the center of my back yard, before receiving a call from their boss to leave my house and go to another job. They apologized to me for not being able to finish my job. They called their boss and told him that the job wasn't finished but they were still instructed to leave right away for another one. Feeling badly about it, they actually offered to come back in their off hours to remove the leaves. As I looked at the mountain of leaves that stretched across the length of my back yard, I decided to call the boss. Suffice it to say, that even though the contract was the same each year and the work was the same each year, the boss insisted that I pay additional money to have the leaves removed. I told him that he was holding me hostage and that this was clearly an unethical business practice. He was very rude to me as was his secretary. He said that because I would have my leaves blown into the woods behind my house in the past, that this is why he had to come back to finish, that It took more time to take them to the curb. I told him that the leaves were never blown into the woods and that he was mistaken. The leaves had always been taken to the curb. This was stipulated as part of the contract when his secretary called me the week before to verify this and told me that she would write it on the contract. Of course, this only made him more rude. It was very late in the season, so I reluctantly agreed to pay more. He told me that he would come back very soon to take the leaves to the curb for pickup by the town. He never came back. The leaves blew all over my neighbors' yards throughout the winter and killed my grass in the spring. This year, my new lawn care providers finished the entire job, in less time, for a little more than 1/3 the cost. Lesson learned.
Description of Work: He was contracted to remove the leaves from my property. He was under the same contract as the previous two years. I would stress to him that I primarily needed the leaves removed from the back yard where there are many trees. I would rake the front yard myself so there would not be much work to do there. The two workers who arrived did blow leaves from the front yard to the curb although there was just a sprinkling of them.

i used blake miller for the winter 2012-2013 snow seaon. there were a few times i wasn't sure if they actually plowed when they said they did. but i couldn't be sure. i paid everything he charged because i couldn't be sure. for the 2013-2014 season i kept track better especially in the last 3 months. i marked down which days he had plowed and the number of times during that day he plowed. i called the office incessantly because they were not plowing and i had to get out of my driveway. i told them i was being charged for work not done and i still had to call repeatedly to get plowed out. at the end of the season they were charging me for several plows they did NOT do and then hit me with late charges when i called to say i had not been plowed on those dates. they added more late charges- i told them i would not pay for work not done and certainly not late charges on top of it.. today i received a notice that they have turned me over to collections. i can send in a dispute but this is ridiculous. i recommend staying as far away as possible from blake miller- they also wrecked my lawn missing the driveway when they did plow- knocking down their own stakes to mark the driveway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Response from Blake Miller Lawn & Landscape
We have thousands of satisfied customers who have used our services in the past and continue to use, as well as recommend, our services. THIS is the publicity any company looks for and needs to grow and prosper. (Members Name Removed) agreed to Snow Plow services by signing a 2013-2014 SEASONAL SNOW PLOW CONTRACT. Our company has records of ALL the dates and times her driveway was plowed. She was charged for each trip. No more, no less. It only takes minutes to plow a driveway. It is impossible to sit and watch 24 hours a day to see when a driveway is plowed.

The contract states that they will plow when more than 3 inches has fallen. We had to frequently call them to get plowed out or to come back and plow us again because the job was performed so poorly. We have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt for 2 seasons, but just cannot justify going back to them again. They tear up the lawn, but do make an attempt at repairing it in the spring. Their team is not professional with the job that they do.

Our snow plow service from Blake Miller was terrible. When they would come, they would plow half our yard, but leave half of the drive way un plowed, despite landmark stakes to show them where the driveway was located. Often they would pile the snow in front of the garage door, sometimes up to 1 foot high, making it difficult to get out of the drive way. I called to tell them I had not yet received a bill in the mail, and within a few days, I got one, with a late fee attached. I called 5 times and left messages over the course of 3 weeks and emailed 3 times, with no reply. I finally paid the bill and late fee, and wrote in LARGE letters across the invoice that I never heard back from them. By this point, I was so annoyed with their lack of professionalism, I wanted to cancel the contract. I finally heard back from them 6 weeks later. I will NEVER use this company again, and strongly advise others to not make the same mistake I did, it will just give you a big headache!

HORRIBLY! I recommend that you do not do business with this company for snow plowing. If his landscape crews behave the same way, you will have an unkempt lawn until they decide to show up. It started bad with the driver showing up late in the evening as I think we were regularly last on the list. Then we had to call for particularly deep snow and the plow had never arrived although they had cleared several driveways in my neighborhood. My wife had to call 3 times and got the answer that the plow had come but it was accumulating over what he had plowed. The owner Blake Miller claimed he had personally driven by the house and the driveway was clear. He had never come. When he finally showed up late in the evening, the driver acknowledged this was the first time the driveway had been plowed that day. When we received the bill we were charged for three visits that day. Needless to say we started keeping track of the visits. The driver only came once more since the prior bill. We received a new bill for 6 visits including 2 on February 5th. February 5th we had to shovel the driveway ourselves because my wife's car had gotten stuck in the driveway. As we were finishing, a driver showed and apologized that he had been "too busy" to get to the house. I called Blake Miller and he again said that the bill was accurate and couldn't understand the issue on Feb. 5th but would give me a credit for the two visits. he next reminded me that if when the driver goes by the house on his route, whether we shoveled the driveway or not, he was entitled to charge me for a visit. I immediately cancelled the contract.
Description of Work: We had a contract for snow removal for the winter which cost roughly $200 up front to get on the route. Actual visits were charged at $18 which is a fair price for my driveway. His prices are great but the service is not, so the old saying "you get what you pay for" holds true in his case. I represent a private drive association and hired Blake to plow our street and numerous driveways. His contract said he would stake the street but I had to call numerous times to get someone to come out to do it and then they didn't even stake it correctly. Some people had already staked their property and he took their stakes and accused us of lying. His contract also stated that they would repair damage to lawns caused by the plow but they didn't honor that either. I wrote an email reminding him that repairs were needed and also included it in my spring payment. but he did nothing. During a snowstorm last year that started around 9-10 a.m., I called and left numerous messages between 5-8:00 p.m. because we were not plowed. This was not just driveways but an entire private drive. After not receiving any response I called his cell phone. I was told not to call his cell phone because I disrupted his communication with his drivers even though he gave me the number to call. We were eventually plowed around 11:00 p.m. that night. The people he used for plowing came to my door each time to ask what driveways needed to be plowed and where was the end of the private drive. Blake Miller is not a reputable business man. His receptionist is rude, he is rude and they don't honor the contract. If you leave a message that you are not happy with the service you will not receive a return call. I would not recommend him to anyone. I speak on behalf of 9 people on this private drive.

Don't waste your money on this provider. They don't live up to their words. Not even half way through the season and I am cancelling the contract ... they can keep the money
Description of Work: The came to do a simple aeration and grass re-seeding .... they destroyed all the drains in the lawn. Try to contact them at multiple occasions but no one answer. They suppose to do a lawn cleanup (Fall) .... they never showed up. There snow plowing in execrable. This is a complete failure.
