We signed a contract with Dandelion in March 2022. They just canceled our contract (September 2022) because New York State passed more tax credits and they wanted more money for themselves. They canceled our contract because they wanted $10,000 more money.....and the contract was very one-sided that let them cancel for any reason at any time this after leading us on for months, telling us they would drill soon. Do NOT do business with them, or if you do, read the contract carefully and get a copy of it yourself.

Bought a house with 40 year old furnace and Central AC Condenser, so knew we would need a replacement soon. Had some foresight that natural gas prices were going to go up, and they almost DOUBLED over the past year...so glad we got this installed! Getting geothermal is a longer process, split into 3 parts: 1.) Drilling - Crew showed up after permitting and were able to get the drilling done in 2 days. Were very professional and we altered to the drill location in the field to make sure the rig could safely core out. The new hole was positioned near a security camera, so I was able to watch them do the whole drilling process - efficient and professional, quality of work was excellent. 2.) Trenching to house - Crew showed up approximately a month after drilling - seems like we were put on a monthly schedule once drilling started. Trenching was done in a day and inspection a few days later. Any problem areas in the trench was foamed and the penetration through concrete foundation was clean with no issues. Dirt was put back in place and lawn was actually graded better than I had prior to the trenching. 3.) Heat pump interior work setup - A month after the trenching the crew showed up to finish the work (on the hottest day of the year, mind you). They neatly and efficiently installed the piping and heat pump in the existing furnace location. I thought there would be a lot of piping blocking my crawl space, but the crew went the extra mile and hid the piping up, so the crawlspace stayed open. Electrical installation was clean, with drywall removal minimized. Overall quality of work of the product installation has been excellent. The permitting and initial process took a little bit longer than expected, (the whole process took about a year from contract to install), but I'm glad I will be avoiding the high cost of natural gas this winter in Westchester. Check out this link for $500 off: https://dandelionenergy.referralrock.com/l/1ADAMSCHIFF64/ Here is a video I made showing the process: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zj8kfdopaqffd6l/Geothermal%20%281%29.MOV?dl=0

Overall happy with the system and outcome but painful process. Would recommend Dandelion to others because of the mission, end product, and cost after rebates and tax credits. So far the AC has been frigid! The local crew of Dan, Manny, Ron, Morty, and Victoria made a clean and professional install and took care of my specific requests for pipe runs and equipment location. Be prepared for the drilling and trenching to leave your yard in a very rough grade state and damage sprinklers, so factor those repairs and landscaping into your decision. The process took 8 months total and if I hadnâ t been as involved or committed to getting geothermal it would have turned out poorly. These were some of the issues along the way: 1. The design layout of my home was all wrong so I had to mark it up with corrections 2. I got in writing from the account manager (AM) & designer that my air handler upstairs could be relocated a few feet away as marked up in a photo by me, but then that couldnâ t be fully accomplished during install w/o a $3k upcharge so we made a new compromise plan. 3. Salesperson told me the main panel upgrade (MPU) ownerâ s obligation in my contract was always there and wouldnâ t be needed, but then before install my AM and designer tried saying it was or I wouldnâ t get Aux heat. I was finally able to show them that an MPU wasnâ t needed but they still removed Aux heat from the downstairs unit and left it in the upstairs unit where it will never be needed because all the heat rises in my home. 4. AM told me the customer needs to pick up the permit, but when doing so the town said thatâ s not true, and then the install crew showed up with it anyway. 5. The crew gouged a spot on my new wood floors removing the old equipment (spot wasnâ t protected at the time) and then Dandelion took the position of using the contract to state that theyâ re not responsible for damages. They did eventually resolve the issue satisfactorily.

Highly recommend Dandelion for geothermal installation, we did our homework before signing with them and the other geothermal installers were unable to offer the same warranties and package installation that Dandelion offers. The other installers basically do 1 of 4 different aspects of the installation and they make it clear that they wont be responsible for the other aspects. So if a pipe breaks, you can expect the drillers to blame the trenchers, who will blame the heat pump installers, who will blame the electrical, etc. You do not have that risk with Dandelion, as they handle all aspects of the installation. Dandelion walked us through the process from start to finish, answered all of our questions, helped us with the clean energy rebates, and we are very happy with our new, quiet, and super-efficient geothermal system!

I live in Nassau county. My experience with Dandelion Energy has been great. Crews were professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and energetic. System used is of high quality and I am already seeing the savings two weeks into using it (I had oil for hot water and heating, plus two CAC units both rated @ SEER 16). The office constantly communicates with me on the progress, especially during the 3rd stage. 3.5 stars for value due to high up front cost.

We are very pleased that we converted from oil to geothermal with Dandelion Energy. They made the process as seamless as possible. I reached out to a dandelion representative on July 13, 2021, and on July 14 2022 the geothermal installation was completed. Not bad considering all the planning and permits required for such a task. Our account manager was professional and courteous; he communicated the progress of the project and let us know what to expect. The drilling, excavation, and installation were done efficiently and professionally. We felt that we were in great hands. I recommend going with Dandelion if you want to convert to geothermal.

Dandelion Energy installed a 6-ton system to replace our oil furnace and AC. Every step of the process was managed by our professional and courteous account manager. He handled any issues that arose throughout the process and connected with the individuals necessary to resolve those issues. The whole process took about 13 months from signing the contract, more than they told us up front, however, given that COVID set them back and that they are a growing company, it wasn't horrible. I wish the wait times between drilling, trenching, and install were shorter, but I think that will change as they hire more teams for our area (CT). We had a couple of issues during drilling that were out of the teams control, but they resolved it pretty quickly, during the trenching, we had a bigger issue. Initially, the company did not feel that they were at fault, but after numerous emails and a lot of photos, the company determined that they needed to send another team out to resolve the issue. Our install team was stellar, extremely hard-working, professional, and communicated throughout the entire process. I would absolutely choose Dandelion Energy again if I owned a second home. Despite some of our frustrations, we are extremely happy with our investment, the cooling has been phenomenal. Although I don't want to rush winter, I look forward to experiencing the heating side of things as well. Great company, great system.

All the crews were top of the line professional! The drilling, excavating, drilling the foundation, installation and final tuning done in a precise and methodical manner with great attention to detail. The yard was left in a rough condition ready for final landscaping as written in the contract. The one issue that kept me awake at night was the drilling as my neighbor's and my own well were close , 75ft, to the drill site. As it turned out there was no need to worry the wells were fine after the drilling. Another neighbor's well which was located some 200ft plus away became cloudy after a significant rain storm but that was more than a week after the drilling was done. An employee of Dandelion went to speak with them and assured them it was most likely the rain that caused the problem. The water cleared up that day and has been fine ever since. That Forbes Article is nothing more than a hit piece against Dandelion. My 34 year old foundation wall didn't crack when drilled in fact two holes were drilled without any problems. As mentioned before the wells were fine and the rough landscaping after work was finished is as expected. Everyone involved in my project was top of the line, a pleasure to work with and respectful of both myself and our home. In fact now that the project is completed I miss seeing the crews. Dandelion is a first rate company and probably the best in their field! Don't hesitate to hire them!

Dandelion Energy recently installed a 4 Ton geothermal system to replace the oil boiler and AC system that were installed 18 years ago. We were looking for a way heat and cool our home that would complement the 9Kw solar array that we have. The entire experience was very professional and pleasant. All the employees from the Project Manager to the heat pump installers were a pleasure to work with and were very open to explaining their role in the entire process. We were very surprised by how the cleanup process left less damage to the lawn than we expected. We attribute this to the use of the Sonic Drill. It is truly a "lawn saver". We highly recommend utilizing Dandelion Energy to install your Geothermal System. We no longer worry about the fluctuating prices of oil or hearing a noisy AC unit while enjoying the backyard in the summer. Not to mention the savings that accompany this installation that makes this upgrade a financial must have.

We recently had a geothermal heat pump closed loop system installed by Dandelion Energy. They are highly organized. The entire operation went smoothly. They removed the old hot water heater and the old furnace and replaced with the new system in just a few days. Dandelion monitors the system remotely. They notified us that there was a defective part. They came out and replaced the defective part. The system has since been running well. I would recommend Dandelion Energy.

Awful, nightmare experience. Poor product. Utterly unethical contract. Lots of damage to my property. Dont be snookered by their fancy marketing materials (like I was). Talk to anybody else in the geothermal field and you will find a consensus that these folks are shysters. Even the folks Dandelion partnered with to install their heat pump told me it was a poor product. I ended up hiring another firm to finish the job. Final cost: 3X Dandelions estimate. Dandelion co-founder and president Kathy Hannun wrote this to me afterwards: As a founder, understanding the experience youve had with Dandelion is incredibly disheartening because I see how weve failed you... I know this does not help to ameliorate your experience, but in this way you have been a significant contributor to making geothermal a viable option for hundreds of homeowners who have switched off of fossil fuel heating. Think twice before engaging a company that uses its customers for RandD! 100% perfect from purchase to installation to turning on the system. The staff at Dandelion, to the very last person, are wonderful to work with, highly trained, very efficient, polite, and eager to please. My process began with the assessment of my needs, which was done with state-of-the-art tech tools, and was quick and easy. Then I got on their schedule and all future work was done on time to the day. The well drillers came first and were in and out in two days with the ground loop installed and sealed off inside my house. Be warned, the drilled process makes a mess of your yard and you have to get it fixed up yourself. That said, the mess and the area affected were much less than I expected. The installation team comprised 4 people who worked their tails off for 5 straight days. They were smart, thoughtful and communicative. They recognized problems in my house, communicated the issues, offered solutions and got the job done. The resulting work is a masterpiece of tidiness and organization. Perfect alignment, connections, insulation, and labeling. The equipment is obviously top quality and the team was respectful of the effect they were having on my house at all times. The basement was cleaner when they left than when they arrived! The cutover from the old system to the new was seamless and not disruptive even in cold weather. A true measure of a company is how they handle problems. When things go well everyone looks like a hero. I did encounter 2 minor problems. I brought them to Dandelionâ s attention and I was awed by how quickly they remedied the issues, at no cost or inconvenience to me. Geothermal HVAC takes a little getting used to. Since the air for heating is not as hot as a combustion-based system, the air handlers have to be more powerful to circulate more air in a given amount of time. The extra flow can highlight where your ducts are not properly balanced (some will make much more air flow sound than others). While Dandelion fully disclosed that duct work is not in their remit, they nonetheless gave me over an hour of consultation on how to address it, suggestions to improve the air flow sound level, and precise specifications to provide to a local HVAC company to do the work. This is way above and beyond. The results were great. Once dialed in, the system provides incredibly comfortable heat with much less dryness. The AC no longer has deafeningly loud condensers outside and best of all for us is that we power the system with clean solar energy and have eliminated the combustion of fossil fuels at our home. I highly recommend them. If you want a painless, turnkey, professional geothermal installation I would only use Dandelion.

Covid delays aside, the process was very seamless and prompt. The staff are cordial and professional. I would definitely recommend dandelion. Geothermal system is such an upgrade. Seeing oil trucks making deliveries around town makes me smile in knowing that i no longer have to schedule those. Removing my oil tank and boiler for a more compact system giving me the extra space in my garage is also a great benefit.

Once we finally got going after all the shutdowns, things went relatively smooth. The teams kept to their schedules. A little work needs to be done on Dandelions communications between 3rd party contractors and the customers. Dandelions teams also need to learn to clean up after themselves without prompting to do so by the customer. If not for this, I would have given 5 stars. The system is phenomenal. We are so happy we made this choice. We now have a system rated for the size of our home and heating and cooling is a synch! It literally takes about 10 minutes to heat up or cool down our house. We have the Bosch split system as we had limited height in our crawl space and it does not disappoint. Although it will take about 1 year to really analyze cost, I am so happy to be rid of oil if I break even I will be happy. Great financing options available as well plus tax credits will help in this area as well.

Step aside, skeptics! This is the bomb! "But it's so expensive." No! We paid NOTHING up front and are paying $250 per month - about what we were paying for oil - for 10 years then we're done. Expensive? For us, no. It was cheaper. (And gave us a good excuse to redo some landscaping because, let's face it, it does a number on your lawn.) We had been considering downsizing now that the kids are grown but our perfect home would mean another big mortgage so we decided to make our current home our perfect home. Couldn't possibly recommend it more highly.

I love the new geothermal system. What I love the most is NOT hearing those noisy central air A/C units outside the house. They have been replaced with two quiet heat pumps in the basement. I planted a vegetable garden where the A/C units once stood. Also my summer electricity bill is much lower than in the past. The workmen were all informative and pleasant.
