I was hesitant when I read other reviews about feeling scammed, but I had no choice based on an immediate need. I needed a cleaning to get a CO for the home that I am selling. Shamrock came and told me I needed $2100 in work. I knew this was impossible, and sure enough, a local, trusted company came and cleaned my chimney and said everything was perfect. No liner is needed. So disappointed. 

They were perfect.

Hired Shamrock to perform chimney cleaning. As a part of the service they went on roof to inspect the outside of chimney which was not something I expected. Shortly after they left it began to rain and I noticed water dripping into my fireplace. I called their customer service number to request that the cleaner come back to address the issue. Instead of empathizing with my situation the person I talked to became aggressively rude. When my wife took the phone to talk to him, he questioned my manhood. When we asked for his name he hung up. I tried to call back but no one answered. I messaged the company and sent an email and have not received a response. This experience reveals that Shamrock does not care about their customers and should be removed from Angi. My next step is to look into legal recourse.

I had Evan from Shamrock come for a cleaning which turned into a repair/update to very old furnace piping and broken damper up top. I had significant creosote buildup as well, confirmed visually by myself. Previous owner of this house did no chimney maintenance. I was prepared for additional work that would be required. Despite conflicting reviews on this website and others, I was very pleased with the work and consider the price competitive. Evan performed a thorough job, and completely cleaned up everything after himself. He walked me through everything he was doing, and gave me multiple options on levels of work to be performed and we agreed on a solution for new cap, damper, top plate/pipe, and he setup a new damper chain/hook in the fireplace. I strongly believe that most people only sign on to leave negative reviews, well here is a good one. 48 hours after I called, everything was complete and billed. Evan did a great job cleaning up (including the firebox, furnace room, yard, etc) and was very polite.

I got a quote right away and they started THE NEXT DAY. Everything was done professionally. Joe Mangano and his partner Jash were courteous and knowledgeable. It could not have gone better. Mary in the Worcester office was a pleasure to deal with and got back to me right away with answers. One of the best service experiences I have ever had.

They did a terrible job on our chimney and installed it wrong and then fought with us in a threatening manner when we asked them to come and fix it. Then they made the leaking worse when he came back and the technicians were rude and refused to finish the job. Now we are out of the money and they refuse to call us back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY shame on you Angi for recommending them.
