 + -1 moreI have had two others work on the shower in the past. Both failed to fix properly. Kevin gave a clear and concise estimate and came very close to the final cost. I'm saving up for a backsplash and will call Kevin as soon as Im ready.

 + 1 moreThe real stone tiles in the kitchen were very varied in color and thickness. Kev had to mud at different thinckness so they would match. The tiles were laid on an angle with care taken as to what tiles were next to each other. Additionally he beaveled tiles to beautifully trim a large deep-set window. The Tile used in the Fireplace Hearth and surround also had a wide variation in color and two differnt tile shapes were used. The grout is 1/8 inch thick... perfectly matched.. And lastly the Kitchen Floor Tiles had a wide variation in color and as in the Backsplash and Fireplace care was taken in what tiles were placed next to each other.
Description of Work: Stone Tile Backsplash (counter to cabinet) with a beautifully trimmed deep set window where he had to create the beaveled pieces. Kitchen also included installing Faux Marble Window Sills. Porceline Tile on Fireplace Hearth and Surround. Ceramic Tile on Kitchen Floor.

 + -1 moreKevin gave an honest opinion on the work that needed to be done and called with an estimate a few hours later. His prices were more than fair. He spent several hours over 2 days working to repair a really bad grout job from a previous tile guy. Kevin did an excellent job, showed up when he said he would and did a fantastic job of cleaning up. I will be calling him again soon when we decide to put in a tiled kitchen backsplash.
Description of Work: Kevin repaired and regrouted tile and grout in master bathroom shower.

 + -1 moreKevin did a fantastic job, perfectly matching the old grout. He gave good advice about what to repair and how, and even told us that some grouting we'd thought might need repair, did not. He was not out to add extra work and more charges, and we felt he was quite reasonable in pricing! Very importantly, he called when he said he would, and arrived when he said he would!!! He is a man of his word! His motto seems to be: "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right!" For any other work needed around the house, we'll call him immediately. We've used many construction and repair people in the 10 years we've been in our house, and he is the best in every way. You can't go wrong with Kevin!

Description of Work: We had a small (5.5 ft x 12 ft), unfinished bathroom in our Lower Level and decided it was time to complete the work. We purchased material from a local tile company and received a recommendation for an installer. We called Kev's Construction and Tile Works and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Kevin arrived on time and assessed the work to be done. He suggested a moisture barrier be installed for the tub surround rather than removing the existing sheet rock and replacing the sheet rock with cement board. His experience had shown moisture barriers provide a more positive means of waterproofing surrounds than cement board. A few days later, we received his estimate and agreed to his schedule to commence work. Kevin arrived according to the schedule and completed the work a day earlier than forecast. He installed cement board and tile on the floor, before moving to the tub surround. There, he installed the moisture barrier and tile. His work was performed with the utmost care to our house. Adjacent to the bathroom, we provided an unfinished room for him to set up his wet saw and stage the material. He placed a room-sized plastic tarp on the floor and placed a rubber liner on the tarp, under the wet saw. At the completion of the work, he cleaned up all traces of his work and equipment. An additional surprise that further describes Kevin's work ethic: he placed a rubber mat under his truck to prevent any oil drips from staining the concrete driveway... a very nice touch!
