Contacted them via phone, spoke to a very courteous gentleman Xavier. We scheduled an appointment for the appraiser, Michael Espinosa, to come in. No one showed up at the time of the appointment and there was no phone call. My wife called the company 30 minutes after the agreed appointment time and was transferred to Mr. Esponosa, who seemed to be confused about the arrangement we made with his company. He then proceeded with the appraisal over the phone. He then said it would take him a few hours to run the details thru the computer and he would email us the estimate by the end of the day. There was no communication from him until the evening of the next day, unfortunately by that time, we have already selected another company. His email with the estimate had someone else's name in the greeting... which then he apparently realized and corrected 10 minutes later, resending me the same estimate email with my name in the greeting. That, to me, simply adds to the low level of professionalism. I would not contact them again for any type of service.

Using the online form available on their website, I requested an estimate to move the contents of my two-bedroom NYC apartment. When I did not receive a response, I called West Side Movers the next day. After inquiring about the status of my estimate, I was told, very brusquely, that they had not had time to respond, and that they would get back to me later that day. I never heard back from them that day, nor ever again. Obviously, I decided to go with another mover, one who was willing to take the time to respond to a request for service.

It is easy to do a good job when things are going smoothly, but you really see what a company--in this case Matt Fiore and his amazing crew--is made of when there is a glitch or change of plan. When it looked like I would not be finished in time to get into my new building before the elevator went out of service for the evening, they not only went into overdrive but also agreed to put off moving my things to storage until the next day. Wow! Thanks, Matt. And when he forgot to process my $50 coupon, he credited me $100, fast. Efficient and generous:)

I found them very professional, although I was actually shocked at how much the ultimate bill was. They called in advance. They made sure that everything was running on time. The movers were nice guys. They were clean, and they didn’t leave a mess. My complaint really was that the estimate was $600 and I spent $1500. The communication by the foreman was excellent.

I wrote an email explaining the situation and received an answer that It would be reevaluated. They asked if I had my original RECIEPT. I certainly did and told them of my previous happy experience. No one ever got back to me. I have since hired Moishe's movers.

I called them to set up an appointment, but I ended up cancelling it because my husband found some friends to move us for free. They were professional and friendly over the phone.

They arrived promptly and were very professional. Although it was only one piece of furniture, it was bulky and valuable and needed to be treated carefully. They did so and were very pleasant to deal with. I would definitely use them again.

This move could not have been easier. Earl and his crew arrived exactly on time, and had our stuff packed and in the truck in an hour and a half. The four-person crew were a professional, polite, and really friendly group of guys - a pleasure to work with! They arrived at the new apartment quickly, and had everything unloaded and in place in record time! They were very careful with the antique and glass furniture, showing real respect for our belongings. They set up the bed and even removed my old mattress! The estimate I was provided earlier indicated a move of up to 7 hours, but the total time was actually only 4 1/2 hours!! The price was reasonable and the move much more affordable than we even thought it would be. West Side saved us time and money, and got the job done just perfectly!! We have already recommended them to a friend who hired them as well. Matt Fiore, the owner (with his Mom), was very responsive and professional through the whole process of planning the move, and his people really know what they're doing. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks for a great job, Matt and crew!

West Side provided us with an honest estimate and assisted us in preparing for the move. They came on-time and worked efficiently, completing the move same-day. There were no missing or damaged items. Actual cost was well below the estimate, as we were able to do most of the packing ourselves ahead of time.

It was over before I caught my breath. I made the appointment and had to break it twice --- but they were always willing to help when needed. I wish they accepted credit cards.

West Side Movers broke and damaged my furniture. Some things were lost. Used packing materials, empty beverage bottles and cigarette butts were left all over my home. Totally unprofessional conduct. Even so, the movers will demand cash and a 20% tip. Extra charges and extra attitude for unpacking. West Side pretends to care, but any stingy compensation you might be offered will be in exchange for a promise not to review on Angie's List. Avoid West Side Movers like the plague. Angie, take West Side off your list! West Side uses a prior year's Angie's List award in their estimate which is totally misleading. My coop required insurance that named me as an additional insured. When I tried to make a claim on the insurance, the insurance broker listed on the insurance certificate never returned my calls. When I finally spoke to the insurance company, they were very nasty and told me that they intentionally omitted disclosures in the insurance certificate that eliminated coverage for my furniture. As an attorney, I think this is fraud. In addition, it took several attempts before West Side filled out the insurance certificate properly. West Side also waited until the last minute to provide the certificate, just adding to the stress.

We used this company after finding a coupon on Angie's list. The quote was $300 for three professional movers for four hours. They were on time, worked quickly and were conscientious of our belongings. We booked them for four hours of which 1 hour was deducted for driving time to and from their headquarters. We ended up with an additional charge for a fifth hour which was reasonable given the amount of boxes and items we had. We would recommend them.

There was not one part of this experience that did not meet the highest standard of professionalism...form the office staff to the movers, they were all fantastic. I will definitley be a repeat customer.

They were very easy to reach. I like the fact that I could reach them on a Sunday. They were very accommodating and friendly. I just could not get them scheduled.

Westside Movers demonstrated that moving is indeed an art and science. After days of laboring to fit items in boxes, and after hauling a cargo van full of boxes ourselves, we still had much that we hadn't packed. WM came in and quickly and carefully helped us pack the remaining items. They handled the heavy and delicate items in a way that prevented damage to these items and to the walls. Very personable and professional. Would use them again in an instant. Our advice for those who try to move themselves with cargo van and help of friends...it's really worth it to hire movers!

Movers came in, did a good job protecting my furniture, lugged it down 4 flights of stairs, moved it safely to the new place, reassembled my bed and table.

I called West Side Movers at 2:00 PM on a Friday afternoon and asked if they had someone available for Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. With less than 24 hours? notice Matt had two great movers (Reggie and Eddie) on site for us. Matt was very patient with me while I firmed up the details and answered all my questions in a highly professional manner. The two moving men were very careful moving large furniture through tight spaces to be sure they didn't damage anything. It was clear that they were experts as they articulated exactly what they were going to do and asked if it met with our approval. They were very pleasant which made us feel at ease.

I recently moved from Florida to NYC, and needed a team of movers to unload the moving van and bring everything up to the apartment. Moving, in general, is a stressful experience; but the team from West Side Movers made the day for us! They were prompt; and well prepared to handle any circumstances. The large sofa proved tricky around corners, but they handled it with ease. They were quite professional in their demeanor and approach; and finished in a flash. I will be keeping their phone number in my contacts list... Great job!!

They came the previous afternoon to pack those of our belongings we hadn't already packed. But they couldn't finish, and said they would finish up (they were about 75% done) the next morning before the move. So they would arrive at 8:30 am. But nobody showed up until after 9, and then only one person did, saying that the team leader had to go to the hospital emergency room and wouldn't be able to come. So they would need to get other people. The problem was that it took a while for the dispatcher to round up the people and get them to our place, while we were stressing, because the move had to be over by 4:30 pm, according to the rules of the building we were moving to. Anyway, they got the people to our place, a couple of them by a little after 10, and more by 11, when the packing began in earnest. Once they arrived, the packers were as competent and professional as they had been the previous day, and the move got done smoothly, though they were an hour over the 4:30 pm deadline, for which we would be charged by the building for porter's overtime. Knowing that their team leader had a medical emergency, we felt the dispatcher should have been more on the ball and taken the initiative to get other people to our place before we started making frantic phone calls to them. On the other hand, the packers/movers themselves were careful and professional. We would recommend them highly. After getting to our new place, we were looking for some things we needed urgently but were unable to find in the boxes we had opened. We asked them where certain items had been packed, and they tried to remember and help find those specific items out of the many dozens of boxes. That was going above and beyond their job, which we highly appreciated.

Interviewed them for our move upstate from NYC. While they seemed helpful and responsive in their office the estimator did not inspire confidence nor did we come away thinking this was the one we wanted to handle our possessions. Seemed a bit matter of fact and less than high end. Some of the pricing seemed a bit odd. We got other quotes and ultimately went with someone else.

Great, noting broken or scratched. We will definitely use them again.

Based on Angie's list descriptions I called Westside and after some back and forth confusion - "300 books? " "No 300 boxes". "Loading the truck?" "No, just packing the boxes." -- we finally worked it out. It is an unusual job, so I understood the confusion. Anyway, they suggested 6 men for about 6 hours at $210 /hr. I had read on the Angie's site that there could be a charge for travel time so I called again, and asked about that. I think I spoke to Mike but I'm not sure. Anyway Mike or whoever I spoke to said no, there would be no charge for travel time, since it was not a moving job, just packing. WE WOULD BE CHARGED ONLY FOR THE TIME SPENT ON THE JOB, NOT TRAVEL TIME. HE WAS VERY CLEAR. This morning 5 men appeared, not six, in a moving truck. I asked "Why the truck" and was told it was just to transport the men. A couple of hours into the job they called and did ask for the 6th man. The job they did was wonderful. The guys were smart, hard working, professional, and managed to do this huge job in about 7 3/4 hours - not too far off the estimated time and I think quite reasonable. But when paytime came, they required an hour travel time....saying that it is apparently some regulation or law or something. They did calculate the half-time job of the added guy - though they charged the full $210 for travel time. Anyway I might use them again, but I would be happier about it all if they had told me in advance that there would be a travel time charge.

I called the company before I bought two coupons. They were very friendly on the phone and explained the procedure. We set up an appointment to see the apartment for an estimate and set a date. I thought their price was reasonable. The day of the move the movers were late because of a wrong address. I had called the day before and tried to go over the address with them again but was assured that they would find it. I actually saw them speed by 2xs as I was calling the company on my cell phone. Once they got to work they didn't stop. They knew exactly what they were doing and how to do it. The movers were very polite and friendly. When we arrived at our destination it was full steam ahead. I had trouble keeping up with directing them. I was glad there was someone else there to help me. Whenever I was in any indecision they made excellent suggestions I took. Discuss your form of payment before because they want cash, or certified check no credit cards. Remember extra cash to tip the movers. I highly recommend this company.
