Team arrived promptly on moving day, handled all requirements with both buildings prior to the move. We hired a team of 4. Simon, was our personable jib foreman. Everyone was friendly, courteous and worked very hard. They did not stop for breaks and kept going until the job was complete. They were fast, efficient and CAREFUL with our things and our freshly painted walls at the new place. We wanted to make sure we finished by 5pm, the deadline our move in building gave us. They were complete by 3:30pm including cleaning up all packing materials, moving quilts, and reassembly of some furniture.

Shane came out for the estimate. He was prompt, friendly and gave me the estimate on the spot. He remembered me when I called to book the move. I chose Redline because of the excellent reviews on Angie's List and because they are a small company which I assumed would be more responsive and they had a cap on their charges. The day of the move 5 men arrived and went to work. They packed quickly and even loaded some stuff on the van. There were a few things they forgot to pack which I had to point out. The next day they finished up packing and loading and went to the new house. Before they left, the foreman went over some paperwork with me, but we did not do a walkthrough to make sure they had gotten everything. That was a big mistake. They unloaded both vans quickly and got all of our furniture in the house without any major damage. They didn't finish until after 6 PM, which made a long day for all of us. I didn't tip the 20% that the foreman suggested, but he didn't count the money in front of me or say anything. When I went back to my old house, I discovered that they hadn't packed the closet in the hall, nor had they moved the pieces of furniture I had asked them to take to the curb. I called them in the morning and got a very nice apology, but I had to find someone else to move the furniture out. I also discovered that an overhead light fixture was broken in the move. I have not yet resolved this issue, but they seemed genuinely interested in making things right. Overall, the experience was not as good as I had hoped. The moving guys were all very nice, but I felt as if I was supposed to be checking up on them all the time. It was a big move, and I was under the impression that there would be more guys than what showed up. In fact, that was one of the reasons I chose Redline. They are much better than the mover I had used previously, but they weren't perfect.

I called to get a quote after reading other reviews on Angie's List. Shane, one of the company's owners, met me at my apartment either that same day I called or the next day after work. He gave me a quote that estimated a probable cost of $640 based on a 3-man crew taking 4 hours. The quote guaranteed that I would pay no more than $768 should the time estimate have been off. The day before the move someone from the company called to confirm the time. On the day of, the crew arrived within the window of time in which they were supposed to. It was a terrible day to move - rainy and very humid - but it did not seem to bother the crew, who were very friendly and professional and handled all of my stuff with care. I have some furniture, but most of what I moved were boxes, and they ended up getting me out of my apartment pretty quickly. The only thing that I would note is that in the process of propping open one of my doors by jamming something between the door and the frame at the top of the door, they ended up messing up one of the hinges. I realized the door was not shutting properly as I was leaving and they ended up figuring out what was wrong and fixed it. It took a bit of time, however, and they probably should have been a little more careful and not quite as forceful when they were doing this. Once the door was fixed we headed to the other apartment. I do not have a car so the crew let me ride over to the new building with them in the cab of their truck. The building into which I was moving had a terrible set-up for moving and required a very long and circuitous path to even make it to the elevator. Despite that, they still managed to complete the job just inside the expected window of time and everything arrived in one piece and undamaged. I've had many stressful moves and this one was really great. I thought the price and the service were both very good. I hope that I do not have to move again any time soon, but at the point at which I do, I will definitely use Redline again.

The entire process was great. When I first called, the person I spoke to was driving and had a bad connection so he asked if he could call me back when he got to the office. Imagine my surprise when he called me back in about 20 minutes - I guess I'm just a little jaded by NYC vendors, several other movers returned phone calls two weeks later. He politely answered all of my questions, and when I called back to book he took all my information and that was it. Next thing came moving day - no problems. All of the movers were nice, careful, funny at times, and professional.

I think that they might have been having a bit of an off day for them, the supervisor seemed to be really on top of things and genuinely cared whether or not I was happy as a customer, they cost exactly what they said they would.

The guys were very hard working, totally sweet, and 100% reliable. At the last minute, we asked them to do a particularly hard move of a couch that went above and beyond the call. They took it on and did it without flinching. We honestly thought we'd have to give up the couch, but they were able to get it in place!

They were fast and agreeable. Friendly and easy to contact.

The move went smoothly. All the movers worked quickly. None of our property was damaged, nor were the premises. The length of time required came in exactly as estimated -- 6.5 hours. My only complaints are that they arrived about 20 minutes later than expected (though this time was not included in the bill, of course, and the foreman did call at the hour Redline should have arrived to let us know they were running late), and that the foreman told us the guys would expect a 20% tip because that was the norm in Manhattan. We had been planning on tipping 15%, and we were surprised to be told what to tip by the company providing the service.

EXCELLENT! From the first meeting to the end! The move actually came in under estimated price! Kerin who did our estimate was able to tell me exactly how many boxes and what sizes I would need to do my own packing. He was right on! The crew we had, lead by Simon actually made moving FUN! After unpacking, nothing was broken or damaged. The movers went beyond the call of duty, helping get everything arranged right and trash thrown away. I can not praise Redline enough. It is rare these days to find a company with such integrity and incredible customer service. In fact this is the first time I have ever rated or recommended one.

Seems crazy to say, but it was a delightful day of moving. The crew were hard working, cordial, and knowledgeable. I needed help packing my artwork and they took good care of it. Moving can be such a drag and these guys never acted like it was anything but pleasant and to be expected. We even dropped off a mattress at a 3rd location and they cheerfully carted it up to my friend's apartment. I would also like to mention that Kieran in the office was fantastic about scheduling and re-scheduling my move when my painters weren't quite finished with the apt in time for my original move date. I recently got reassigned to a new position which forced me to move my family from the city to Westchester. Because my family and I have literally moved around the world and back twice, I feel that I am pretty qualified to talk about and rate movers! In short, Redline movers were the best moving company that I have ever experienced in over 20 years of moving! I usually never write on blogs about things, but these guys did such a great job that they should be rewarded (as will you if you use them!) Starting with the first time I met the owner, Shane, I knew that things were different; be it his timeliness, his overall demeanor, or his attention to detail, the estimate turned out to be exactly how he described. His movers that did the packing, took better care of my stuff then I did! Their work was efficient, yet they were patient enough to deal with my wife's demands! The move was, quick, there were no damages, and no hidden fees! You wont go wrong with Redline!

Moving day went smoothly - that statement alone summing up the experience. The personnel were all very courteous, friendly and professional. They showed up when they said they would and completed the move in about the time they estimated despite our having surprised them on moving day with some extra things to pack (because we gave them bad info; not because of their planning). The final cost was still within $100 of the estimate and certainly justified by the extra work with which we surprised them. Overall, it was probably the best move my wife and I have made and we would certainly use them again when we next need to move.

Hardest working crew I ever experienced and I have moved 6 times in the last 6 years. The minimum time requirement made my move more expensive that it should have been. I had to move out on one day and in the the next. There was no overnight storage fee, but the minimum 4 hours each day was more time that I would have needed if it were done on same day (not the movers fault). The hour of travel time since I lived in Brooklyn was excessive...it was only 4 miles from my new apt.

Redline was excellent - best movers I have ever had. On both days they were on time and very efficient. There is not a lot to say except that they did it right. Nothing broken, no worries about them showing up (they called the day before to confirm), costs were between their estimate and the hard cap on total costs. The one thing that they did that caught me off guard was that they made it very clear the first day that the general practice was to tip 20%. That's a lot of money and I didn't end up giving them quite that much. But I never felt pressured to do it and ultimately they did such a good job and came in under their max so I felt ok with it. I used them to pack my stuff too - that worked out great and has been much easier to unpack than when I have done it myself (and it isn't that much more expensive).

They declined to send anyone to look at the job beforehand, which might have obviated some of the problems that occurred when they ran short of time before the cutoff hour at the new building (which I had told them ahead of time). Nothing they packed was broken--I was delighted. But they dropped the top half of a valuable antique cupboard on its end (hurrying and one man trying to move it), breaking off a piece of molding--after I had warned them specifically against this as it happened the last time it was moved. The actual person who dropped it came the next day to help unpack and look at the damage--was rather argumentative about it. It was more expensive than I'd anticipated based on their estimate (which would have been more realistic if they had looked at the job ahead of time.) Still, movers are generally loutish and careless and overall I felt that these guys were neither. In spite of the cost and damage, I might hire them again.

This was a wonderful move. The foreman was exceptionally courteous, calm and helpful. The movers were all very kind and supportive. They went above and beyond my expectations. I was 9 months pregnant and my mother is 74 and they took great care of us. It could not have been a better experience and I would use them again, without hesitation.

These guys were absolutely fabulous! They were extremely courteous, personable, careful and asked every step of the way if everything was okay. We had a delay (due to construction) getting into my new building -- it was no problem. They wanted to move in ASAP in order to save me money and were very concerned about it. After a 3 1/2 hour wait, they started moving my stuff in. It was a really hot day (above 90 degrees) -- they were very patient and didn't complain at all. And, it was 3 flights up with some heavy furniture!!! These guys are the best! Very professional and caring and watched out for my furniture every step (and there were plenty) of the way. I would never use anyone else! Next time I move, hopefully when I buy, they can pack everything and move everything! While the cost was more than the estimate, it's no fault on their part -- they were very fast - it was waiting time to get into my new building. I wouldn't use anyone else for my next move!

Traffic delays prevented the movers from arriving at the start time, but we were called and informed of their progress; they were only 1/2 hour late. We did most of the packing; the men packed some delicate, valuable items (we purchased additional damage insurance) such as collectibles and a fair amount of artwork; major unusual furniture pieces included an upright Steinway piano, a large antique oak desk, 42" flat screen TV, rolling computer workstation with desktop computer and 3 monitors. The men worked quickly and efficiently, providing us with additional boxes as we continued to pack alongside them. Upon arrival at the new apartment, they worked quickly and efficiently; contents had to be carried up two flights to the apartment entrance and an additional two flights in the apartment interior.

They were professional and took good care of our things. They were much better than previous companies I have tried.

The Ultimate moving experience. Shane showed up promptly to give me an estimate. I assured him I would have everything packed and ready on "the date". Estimate was very reasonable and clear (and lower than the other estimate I received). On move date, workers showed up promptly, although the truck was a little late. But I was amazed at how quickly the apartment was cleared. Workers were very pleasant and well-spoken. After a short drive to new place and a quick break, they began the move in. It was done in just over 2 hours. Everything arrived in great condition. All furniture was carefully wrapped in padding. I had forgotten to seal one box of fragile items, and it arrived in pristine condition. Boxes weren't tossed or dropped. Boxes marked FRAGILE were noticeably treated with care. I felt the crew was completely trustworthy. I realize this review sounds like it was written by the company themselves, but I had a moving nightmare 15 years ago and this was the total opposite.

I called four companies about moving my stuff to my current NY apartment. All of them were very professional. All of the estimates provided were similar. The employee I spoke with at Redline was very kind and answered questions I had.

I lived in a four flight walk up in queens and the guys from Redline made short work of it. No complaining or bad attitudes, very professional throughout the move. I will call this company again.

Because of a cooperative planning between Shane and I, the move was well prepared and went flawlessly. I was initially concerned about some of my wife's antique items and pointed it out to the crew chief, who took special time and attention to ensure my concerns were met. As for the bigger stuff, like our dresser and bed set, these guys were HUGE! Effortless lifting a ton of stuff quickly and with great care. My wife and I were initially thinking of enlisting friends and family to help us, but I'm glad we explored the opportunity to have these professionals come and move us to our new home. They were not only proficient but kind of fun too! An appropriate sense of humor settled my wife's anxieties. I'd recommend Redline Moving to any of my friends or family.

This is the best moving company in the city. The guys packed all my things really well and the move took as long as they said it would. They were on time start and finish, and the guys were very pleasant and professional. The best moving experience I've ever had.

I've moved about two other times in the last 6 years before this one. All of them had been nightmares; stressful and chaotic. I was dreading this one. It turned out to be the best experience I've ever had. The guys were professional and friendly. They worked quickly and carefully. I felt like I was in good hands from beginning to finish. I've recommended them to everyone I know and had to put my two cents on this site as well. Who knew moving in this city didn't have to be something to dread?
