Mike is very skilled, conscientious, and professional. Inevitably, even on small jobs, some challenge comes up but Mike stayed after it and figured out a way to make it work. Also, after his last visit, my recently-installed door lock (by a locksmith, not Mike) stopped working and locked my Mom (who was staying with me for a few days) out and I was out of town. This was at 8:30 pm. Desparate, I texted Mike, who lives nearby, to see if he could stop by and see if it was some sort of easy fix. He came over immediately and was able to get her in but diagnosed that the lock was in fact broken so I called the locksmith back who confirmed it was broken.

I contact Mike Kentz to have him install a microwave in the kitchen on August 27, 2013. After speaking to him and sending pictures of what will be done, he provider me with an estimate for the cabinetry, electrical run and to install the new microwave. When it was time to schedule a date for Friday or Saturday, he withdraw from the project because he would not get someone to help him or getting out to NJ would be difficult for him. He know where I live before the estimate. This was a waste of time dealing with Mike Kentz. Never again.

Everything went supremely well. He's a consummate professional. Detail-oriented, careful, courteous. I trust him to do the job right.

Mike was great from start to finish - professional and adept. We had some problems with one of my windows, and he stuck with it until he figured out a way to make it work and get the air conditioner installed. He was also fast, and everything was done well. I highly recommend him.

I found Mike looking for a handyman on Angies List that would service downtown Jersey City. One of the prior reviews mentioned him installing large mirror with great success so I felt comfortable using him. I was very pleased with the service he provided - he showed up on the agreed time and did a very professional job hanging the mirror and other items around our apartment. I would highly recommend him and plan on using him again for future handyman needs.

All the kitchen work was done quickly and everything is in place and works again. What a difference! The built-in bedroom drawers work again. The dresser drawer can finally go back in the dresser and looks great. Mike even let me keep his clamps overnight to be sure the glue set and dried. The leak has been an ongoing problem. We've had several people try to fix the problem, but it has continued to be a source of frustration. I did not call Mike to work on this, but he noticed the water damage and offered to take a look. Since he had not expected to do that kind of work, he surveyed the problem and came back another day with additional tools and materials. He opened the wall and discovered the problem, repaired the issue (we needed sealant around the tub faucet area) and will come back to close the wall when everything is dry. He also told us ahead of time that although he could find the source of the leak, we might need a professional plumber to repair any issues with the pipes. The window could not be completely repaired because of the initial installation. Mike was able to secure the window so it closes and will not slip down. Mike is very professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. He is creative with problem solving in an old house. He is very punctual and accurately estimates the time a project will take. I will certainly cert to call him for help.

I have been looking for a reputable handyman for a couple of years. We live up in Hoboken and because of lack of parking, many contractors don't service the area. I found Mike Kentz's name on Angie's List and contacted him. He told me that he would come to Hoboken and we discussed the different projects. He suggested I take some photos and send them to him so he could better advise me on what supplies to purchase. From the photos he was able to ascertain which manufacturer made my bathroom faucet and ordered the needed part (turns out it was no charge due to lifetime guaranty by Glacier Bay). I purchased the lighting that we discussed by phone and email. As soon as the faucet replacement part arrived, Mike contacted me and we set the date and time for him to do the work. He arrived on time, was very courteous, professional and immaculate. He set to work immediately (brought an amazing assortment of tools all neatly organized in a rolling bag). He worked efficiently and quietly and cleaned up every scrap of packaging. I was delighted with the results of his work.

The work speaks for itself, the sink runs beautifully now. Mike was very good, came promptly and was very polite. We thought the price was reasonable too.

The mirror was hung with precision, and looks great.

I provided the panels and Mike provided the labor. The panels came back the wrong size so Mike took them back to his place and cut them to size and finished the job perfectly. Very thorough and professional job.

Mike Kentz is an outstanding carpenter. He is calm, very focused, and a quality craftsman. He is knowledgeable about carpentry but also knows quite a bit about other construction methods as well. He is responsible, reliable (always on time) and takes care to not damage your property. I originally hired Mike to install 6 new wood doors on my existing door frames. Nothing in my apartment was exactly square so Mike tediously cut each door to perfectly fit within the slightly crooked frames. He also installed new door knobs by cutting the appropriate hole and routing out the wood for the face-plate. Everything fits perfectly and looks beautiful. Mike also installed wood shelves in my closet. He spent time locating the studs in the wall and resolved issues where studs weren't found. My shelves are now strong enough to support very heavy books and look great. Mike beautifully installed all the bathroom accessories; e.g. the shower curtain rod, towel racks, toilet paper holder, etc. He had to drill into the tile and did so without one mistake or crack?and without a trace of debris left behind. His measuring was right on the mark, perfectly level and correctly placed.

As landlords, who live in Georgia and own a rental property in Hoboken, we have found it very difficult to find someone to even just respond to our calls, not to mention do a quality job in a timely and professional manner. After years of struggling to find someone to help out, I think we have finally found a reliable, reasonably priced handy man. Our tenants called us to complain about a slow drain in the tub. I wanted to get the issue resolved quickly, but it was right after Hurricane Sandy had hit and days before Thanksgiving. I explained to our tenants that it may take awhile, but I would try to find someone to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. After calling a couple of numbers and just getting voice mail, I decided to look on Angie's List. I'm not exactly sure what caused me to call Mike Kentz, but I'm very glad that I did. He answered his phone in a very professional manner, he was willing to go out to take a look at the job the very next day, and his prices were very reasonable. He contacted the tenants, set up a time to meet' and while he was at the job he also took a look at an electrical issue we were having and gave us an estimate. When the job was done, he sent an invoice, I sent a check and that was that. No drama, no stress. It's like a weight has been lifted off of our shoulders. Thank you Mike!!!

Qualtiy of Mike's work is superior in every way. He is reliable and dependable and goes out of his way to complete a job. His prices are resonable. I would highly recommend him for any jobs that you may need done in your home. Elvira M. Traba
