Company is awful. IF they ever get back to you, they forever delay actually doing work. Over and over we confirmed for them to finally come on July 26th, yet they didn't show, didn't respond to phone calls or emails, nor did they contact with an apology. Terribly poor professionalism and I'm ultimately glad they never did any work inside the apt. These guys are to be avoided.

We responded that 25th or 26th are available dates and never heard from this customer again, and then, day before appointment, customer asked if we coming this Thursday. How we can set something up if customer never responded.

Dimitriy came to fix and install new light fixtures in two my rooms. I've had a bulb hanging from wires in one room for months and it had stopped working because of the wiring. Dimitriy came in and immediatly was able to clean up the wires in the electrical box and had the light working! Then he installed the new light and we proceeded into the other room, setting that light up with relative ease. I would definitely reach out to him again if any other issues in my apt cropped up.
Description of Work: An existing light fixture that was hanging from its wires hadn't been working for months. Wires were checked and existing light was tested before new light & light fixture were installed. New light fixture was installed and hung. A second light fixture in another room was removed, wires were cleaned up and organized and a new fixture for that light was installed as well.

I had left messages on his voicemail and no one tried to contact me. I must have left five messages because I saw that the deal was going to expire soon. I finally got ahold of him, and I told him the work would probably only take him about an hour to do. In order to get an appointment, he said that I had to go online to schedule. He did not give me the right online address. It seemed like he just didn't want to do the work because it is somewhat out of the way. I ended up getting a refund for the deal.

The reglazing of the tub looks fine at this point. The grout "cleaning and sealing" is horrible! Dimitri came out to the apartment while I was in another room painting . I heard the drill going throughout the time so assumed he was cleaning the grout. He was also using heavy chemicals so I was purposely staying on the other side of the apartment to avoid the fumes. When I came to look at it towards the end of the job there was a gritty film over the tiles of the floors and walls. Not knowing what a sealant was supposed to be like, I assume this grit was the sealant and could be brushed or wiped away. Before he left he recommended that I buy one of their regrouting coupons because the cleaning didn't come out as well as he'd hoped. I shut the door so the fumes stayed in the bathroom and went about painting etc. Two days later I go in to wash the walls down and start cleaning it. Turns out that grit doesn't come off! It's on the walls and all over the tiles. I take a few pictures and video and send it to a couple of friends who would know what to do. Turns out this guy used a YELLOW SANDED grout on my WHITE bathroom. I am pretty upset. I call and at first remain pretty calm. I told him that I wasn't happy with the work done with the grout and let him know why ?Yellow sanded grout used on my bathroom floor and wall tiles. He doesn't see the issue. He says that I should've requested white grout. So, standing in a white bathroom that currently has white grout in it isn't enough to assume to use white grout...or to ask me? Then he says they always use sanded grout on the walls and floors of bathrooms and the color they used is standard. That's ridiculous as we all know. Then he says he didn't even grout because the coupon was just for CLEANING. I asked him to then explain what was on my walls if it wasn't grout. Dimitri said it was the old grout after it was cleaned. Again, insane explanation. I told him I had pictures and could send them so he could see how terrible it looks. He declined. This conversation went back and forth for a long time. I was saying that the job was done poorly for many reasons and he defended the crappy job. He finally agreed to give me my money back. $110. For the coupon. We'll see if I ever get it. Now I have to fix the work he did and it will cost much much more. I am considering small claims at this point. Do not use these guys. Not only was the work amature but he actually defended it. Now I am out a lot of money to fix it. And behind schedule to complete the job. So in response to Handyman of NY response I felt I had to comment further. I could not find anything on the coupon that states the color that was used. And there wasn't supposed to be ANY grout used. This coupon was for a CLEANING and sealing, not a regrouting. It was stated on the phone that to clean a small brush would be used. Never did they speak about putting new grout in. Also at the time of service I told the technician that the grout was yellow because it was nicotine stained ? the reason for the cleaning. Since the new tiling in the bathroom was white and the tiles were white I assumed this was all clear. Not that he as supposed to put in grout anyway. The hostility on the phone when addressing this problem was an issue as well. He totally denied that they did anything wrong and was totally dismissive of a ligit complaint. In the end Handyman of NY refunded my money but I ended up having to scrape out the grout he put in and hired someone else. $$$. The reglazing went awry as well. Turns out on closer inspection he got the reglazing stuff on the new glass tiles of the tub area. He taped and sealed it up to about 1 foot above the tub but higher than that the tiles were speckled with white. They ended up sending someone over to scrape it off. Luckily it worked and I didn't have to request another refund.
Description of Work: I purchased two angie's list coupons for work. One was for bathtub reglazing and the other was for bathroom tile cleaning and sealing. Both services were done on the same day and took about 4 hours total. The reglazing of the tub looks great at this point but I haven't run the water yet.

Dear Customer, we are really upset that we disappointed you, BUT when you purchased the deal it clearly stated that sanded and alabaster color will be used. When our technician arrived at the job site, half of the bathroom where the tub area was withe, another half was sand color and the floor was gray - our technician provided us with the pictures, you never mentioned to our technician that you would like other color you said that you would like him not to do the tub area. Please read all information about specials and coupons.

electrician, handyman service, ceiling fans

I originally chose this company because of 2 reasons: 1 ? they have very good reviews and are licensed, and 2. they were running a special deal, $99 for 3 hours of handyman service. I bought 2 x $99 Handyman specials. My idea was to use them both during the same day in order to get some odds and ends done around my house (patch 2 small holes in the ceiling, tighten a bathroom door handle, replace 2 rubber hoses connected to the washing machine and fix the doorbell button) as well as installing a ceiling fan in a bedroom that did not previously have any ceiling fan. This company asks you to write everything you want to have them do in an email so their handymen who come on the day of your appointment do not get surprised with tasks that they are either unable or unqualified to perform. I was very clear that the ceiling fan would need to be wired. I got a response from Dimitriy Arnopolous stating, ?Everything seems good, when would I like to schedule an appointment?? A day or so later Dimitriy called me on the phone and I scheduled the appointment with him for 7/11. He asked if the window for arrival of 12-2 would work for me and I said fine, I again told him that there is no ceiling fan in the room where I want to put one in. What do I need to get so everything will be there when you arrive? He said when he arrives he will take a look at it and figure it out then. I thought that was reasonable, especially since I have a hardware store 2 blocks from my house so I can go and get the materials when he starts to work. Dimitriy called around 12 to let me know he would be about an hour till he arrived at my place, which I appreciated. He showed up just after 1pm. When he entered he was nice enough, I showed him the bedroom where the ceiling fan was to be installed. He looked a little surprised that there was no existing wiring in the ceiling for a fan. I was then very surprised that he was saying this. I asked what are our options. He told me the proper way to install the ceiling fan would be to run a new line dedicated to only the fan. I asked if there are any other options? I pointed out that there is a light switch on the wall that is connected to a wall outlet. Can we run the wiring from the wall outlet, up (inside the wall) to the point where the fan would be installed, to give it power that way? He said that is not the best way or even proper way to do it, but it can be done. I asked about risks, since I do not know much about wiring and that is why I hired a licensed professional (or so I thought). He said the risk is that it MIGHT trip the fuse in the fuse box occasionally but I can just switch it back on. I asked if there was any risk of fire or anything serious like that. He stated, ?No.? I said, ?OK lets wire it into the wall outlet then.? He explained that I would lose the outlet since it will need to be dedicated to the fan. I said no problem; we do not use that outlet much anyway. For the next 1-½ hours Dimitriy was cutting into the wall and ceiling to route the wires to the fan, and then finally wiring it all up hanging the fan and connecting it into the socket. At this point Dimitriy asked me to turn the fuse off for the outlet so he can finish connecting the wires to it. After connected he said OK all done now we test it. I was very excited; the fan looked great. This fan does not have a switch it is controlled by a remote only. When I turned the fuse back on Dimitriy held the remote and pressed the on button. ?POW!? Sparks flew out of the top part of the fan almost hitting Dimitriy. I immediately went to the fuse box to turn the breaker off although it already switched itself to off. (Glad something was working correctly!). I was shocked. I asked him half jokingly if this sort of thing happens often, he looked at me and said, ?not too often, but sometimes.? I took this as a sign of promise. It said to me, ?there is a problem here, things don?t look so great but I know how to fix it.? Who doesn?t respect a never-say-die attitude? He asks me where the sparks came from and I showed him since he was under the fan when it happened and I was watching it from a (safe) distance of about 10?. He took the fan down checked the wiring, took some of it apart, connected different wires to other wires, put the entire thing back up to the ceiling, checked the outlet box etc. I kept throwing the breaker switch from the off position to the on position many times. Each time he would try something different. However in each try it was looking less and less likely that he would figure out what went wrong!? It was at this point, 2 thoughts crept into my head. The first, which I stated to him, ?This is why I hire a professional for this kind of stuff now. In my earlier years I would do something like this and a similar outcome would arise, then I wouldn?t know how to remedy the situation.? The second idea, which I did not share with him for fear of hearing what no person that HIRES A PROFESSIONAL would ever want to hear, ?what if he can?t figure it out? What happens then? Does some magical professional come and fix everything? Well little did I know, I was about to take a ?Magical turn to Nowheresville!? ?You?ve just entered Nowheresville, the land where nothing happens and no one take any responsibility?? So, about 10 minutes after the thought started creeping in my head and about 3 ½ hours into the 6 hour ?Special?, Dimitriy states that he does not know what more to do. Or as Dimitriy put it, ?There is no more I can do, I do not know much about wiring, I have to call electrician.? WHAT!!? But you are an Electrician!? ?No, I am not licensed electrician, I am licensed Plumber.? I said well call the electrician and lets get this job finished. I envisioned the electrician coming over spending a few minutes to assess the situation, figuring out the problem and then we?d be done. ?Electrician is a different appointment; he has full schedule.? Well, I am speechless. This has never happened to me before, that a very well-reviewed company would send someone who is blatantly unqualified for the job that he was hired for. I couldn?t understand it. I would understand if I were not up front and this job to wire a new ceiling fan was a complete surprise but I was very upfront with what the job entailed. I have proof of it all in my email correspondence. It clearly stated the installation of a new ceiling fan into a room that does not have any ceiling fan in it. If there was any problem or questions about the job the company should of asked, or if they would have said, ?For the coupon you bought we will be sending a licensed plumber, anything electrical he can try, but there is a good chance it will not work and you will have to hire another person at full price that is properly licensed and knows what they are doing to redo the entire job.? Then I would say OK at least now I know what I am getting into. When Dimitriy knew he was in way over his head, all the damage had already been done. It was at this point that he wanted to get to work on the things that he was confident he could do: patching 2 separate holes in a ceiling that was caused by a water leak, replacing rubber hoses to a washing machine with stainless steel hoses, fixing a door handle that was loose, and repairing a door bell button (the door bell works but something was wrong with the button contacts). Of those 4 things, 2 of them I did not need to repair his repair: the loose door handle and the changing of the washing machine hoses. The patch job was done so fast and badly, I spent the next 2 days re-patching and then priming and painting over what Dimitriy did. The doorbell button he could not figure out. I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. Dimitriy arrived to my house at 1 pm. By 4:45 he declared he was done and would start to clean up the mess in the bedroom where the fan was butchered. By 5:15 he was ready to leave. I pointed out he had only been here for 4½ hours, and that he had not been able to do most of the work. I asked him when the electrician comes, could we use the 1.5 hours left over towards that. He started yelling ?I work very hard! I work here for 4.5 hours. It is not like I am here relaxing having a smoke. I am working, working the whole time! Everyone wants coupon for work! Everyone else have big car, big house. How am I supposed to get big car, big house? HOW???UM!? Was this really happening? He then said he would get in touch with the electrician and then he would call me back. I called him a day and a half later since I hadn?t heard anything. He said he hadn?t been able to get in touch with him yet but soon as he does he will call me. It has now been 3 days and haven?t heard a word from Dimitriy or NY Handyman. The original outlet that was taken out of the wall is still out with the LIVE wires capped but still sticking out! This is a horrible company and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone! As for the company response, it?s just lies. --I was very clear about the work and can prove it with emails. -- I NEVER received any call/email or APOLOGY or quote from Dmitriy or an electrician?? -- (?before i say "i am done" i always ask customer to check my work,?) This is true, and I did ask Dimitriy to fix it the first time. He did it over in the same quick, sloppy way. I was so frustrated with his incompetence at this point I just wanted him to leave. -- I never asked how business is or anything about his family. Dmitriy started yelling when I challenged his idea that I need to make another appointment with an electrician to fix the mess he made and I would have to pay for it again. I write these facts to protect other customers from using this company. They LIE and try to cover up the real reason for their inability to perform what was asked. They are utterly incompetent and I wouldn?t wish this experience on anyone!
Description of Work: It's difficult to describe what was performed. It was more like a performance. They were supposed to install a ceiling fan, fix a loose door handle, fix a door bell button, replace the rubber washing machine hoses with stainless steel hoses, and patch 2 holes in a ceiling caused by an old leak.

Customer mentioned that he needs to install new fan but never mentioned that he doesn't have any wiring or previously installed light fixtures, when i arrived i explained that new wiring needs to be done because its NOT SAFE to spit outlet and make light fixture from it, i said that i will intall new fan, run new wires behind the wall but we need to setup separate appointment for electrician to connect it. All wires from outlet are covered with safety nuts and electrical tape and hidden in the box, i would never leave wires open. Our electrician provided a quote for customer and estimate was send on Friday When Member asked to fix door bell i said that there is nothing to fix its all rusty and circuit board inside is broken and just needs to be replaced. Water damage on ceiling was fixed with joint compound and before i say "i am done" i always ask customer to check my work, Member said its perfect, now its not, funny otherwise i would take care of it. Yes i was yelling because i had a working drill and hole cutter in my hand and You asked me how is business and i was telling you that i work hard to make money for the house where i am planning to live with my family. Overall very interesting customer, he wanted to buy several coupons and split ea of them for couple of hours because he always needs to fix in his 3 family house, not to mention this coupon is for 1 household only

The owner came with some wood and plastic to complete the doors. I explained that both doors are to be made with treated wood. He didn't have enough wood to complete one door so he had to reschedule for the next week. He and another worker came back the following week and completed the two half doors. He used the hardware from the old doors and charged us as if he had purchased new hardware. We were not given the receipts for the material purchases. The job should have cost at most $130.00 but we were charged $198.00. We paid it but would not use this company again. Also it is very hard to make arrangements for work to be done by e-mail. You speak to one person on the phone and a second one is requesting and answering the e-mail. How confusing is that. This was the second time we used this company. The first time was with a big deal coupon.
Description of Work: Handyman of NY made a door for the entrance of our front and back porches. We were quoted $80 - $90 for labor plus the cost of materials (about $40) to construct these two half doors. I spoke with one of the workers and agreed on treated wood for the doors.

Customer had 2 doors leading to the under porch area in front of the house, she asked us to provide the estimate to replace this doors, we recommended to use weather treated wood and written estimate was provided to customer with signature from both parties for $100-120 + cost of the materials. 1 door had lattice panel in it and customer asked technician to build exactly same doors. When tech arrived on the job site with estimated materials customer changed her mind and decided not to use lattice instead build new door from treated wood, thats why we were short on the materials and have to reschedule for another day. Doors were installed on the new hinges and by the way owner asked us to leave old doors etc on the job site that he might use it in the future. When the job was completed tech completed the invoice and they both signed it, nobody never asked any questions, if the customer would have any questions we are happy to provide any receipts or bill of sale. When we received this feedback our stuff manager calls to the owner to improve our service and maybe find some answers for customer questions, but instead of working out some solution he was covered with dirt and explicit words in to his address right in front our stuff

My husband and I are converting our 2 family brownstone to a three, with the intention of having a rental unit. We made the bathroom a nice feature, and went through great lengths to keep to the period of the decoration (IE hex tiles on the floor, subway tiles on the walls, clawfoot tub, period faucet etc etc). I purchased the clawfoot tub, second hand, and it had moderate rust stains in the basin, so I was happy when I saw the Big Deal offer. I am a set designer and my husband is from the UK and built houses from scratch, so without wishing to sound arrogant, we know a thing or two about DIY, and have done about 60% of the work ourselves. I reached out to Handyman of NY and they wer prompt-ish in returning my email, and explained how to proceed. Not sure if I didnt follow his instruction properly or if Dimitri was unclear, but wires got crossed and I missed his phone call explaining how to keep my appointment, thus i had to reschedule a few times...that aside I finally got with the program and emailed all the info to Dimitri and they honored my appointment. He instructed me to remove any towels or obstructions from the tub area. I told him it was a new bathroom, no fixtures or furnishing yet....easy I was a bit unsure/skeptical of the term "reglazing" because that implies fire or heat...sooooo i learned...basically they paint the tub. But this is not an area of my expertise, and I was willing to watch and learn. I asked how long it lasts and I was told if I clean the tub with gentle, non-abrasive cleaners, 2-3 years. Dimitri mentioned that his tub was still good after 6 years. He proceeded to sand the tub down with a reciprocating sander (cordless multitool). He asked me for rags and paper towels (really?-isn't that the type of expendables you would have in a painting kit??), BUT EVEN WORSE>> before he painted the tub with a sprayer, he did the LAMEST masking job of my bathroom. He used 1 foot wide brown paper towel type craft paper in the most slap-dash fashion. The spay-over was horrible. There was spay-over on my toilet, new subway tile walls, the exterior of the tub, which is black was covered in white dots...the floor was the worst, the spray is stuck in the grout. Like I said, i design and paint film sets for a living, so his prep work really struck me as lack-luster, lazy almost, but since I dont know much about 'reglazing' methods, I kept my mouth shut....wish I hadnt. When he was finished I asked him about the spray-over and he said it was dry dust and it would sweep up ( i know this to be the case sometimes with spraying paint, so I let him off the hook-also wish I hadnt) He mentioned to use acetone if it didnt sweep up in parts....(huge understatement!). He instructed me to not use the tub or bathroom for 3 day to keep it dry-for optimum dry time (we gave it 9 days). He handed me an invoice for "Bathtub Reglazing $179" (tax, im assuming was the 20 extra bucks???? 8.75 NYS sales tax would have been $13.91, not $20, so another red flag went up). I customarily tip contractors, so I gave him an even $200....another thing I wish I hadnt done....BUT I have to say the tub looked beautiful from a distance when he left. It was such a dramatic improvement that I actually felt like I was mentally h****** him, and glad i kept my mouth shut. But then on closer inspection I got a little annoyed. There was sandpaper grit at the bottom of the tub and was now painted into the surface. There was also some hairs stuck in the paint. All these things make for a not so perfect finish, and untimatly create a weak bond for the paint, and now 2 baths later are officially chips or areas where the paint is cracked and failing. There are 3 very obvious chips now and they all blister up when the tub is full of water, making them chip more when they dry. Totally awful, and Im super bummed out about the whole thing, because I should have looked a bit harder for a claw foot tub that didnt have some rust Now for that spray-over that would just "sweep up". Two hours later on my hands and knees with a scouring pad, scraper, sanding block and a half gallon of acetone, i got about 80% of it up...but i will have to repaint the exterior of my tub, which Im not happy about, because I sprayed it outdoors when it wasnt plumbed in in, and it was done well and clean looking. So I seriously suggest that Angies List should explain what "reglazing" means in future Big Deal offers. Perhaps its not a great idea to endorse Handyman of NY in this particular area. Furthermore, goodness only knows what the bathroom would have suffered if I actually had bathroom things in it, like a sink, mirror or fixtures. Why wouldnt they take the necessary prep time to protect the re from spray-over?? Im also not thrilled that I had to tell my new tenant that I "had a crappy reglazing done to the tub and its gonna get worse, so please let me know when you cant deal with it anymore..." Total all-around bummer, and I have pictures.... UPDATE: all around garbage answer from the vendor. 1. I was never told by the vendor my tub was unsuitable for this process 2. I never said I didnt care about the tub and I wanted a bad job done because it was for a tenant 3. You didnt "miss a few spots" you painted over hairs and grit, meaning you didnt really clean the tub off after you sanded 4. I didnt use a coupon from your website, I used the coupon from Angies List Big Deal for $159.00 5. Funny you had no comment about the spray-over mess you left. Probably because you dont want me to post those pictures...

Appointment was rescheduled only once, our technicians call customer 30 min 1 hour prior the appointment to confirm that you didn't forgot or there are might be some changes in your plans. Our tech called you twice and left you 2 voicemails and customer called back 3 hours later. We might ask you for couple of paper towel to wipe dry the tub. But when technician arrives the tub didnt have rusted stains it was rusted and old with leaks from faucet, he explained that tub needs to be restored and glazing would not be useful in this matter, owner told us that she really dont care its for new tenants and she just want it to look nice. Even if we missed few spots to cover we gladly come back and take care of it. The price was $179 because you used coupon from our website which is $179, we dont charge taxes for cash or checks only for credit card sale.

I tried to call them couple of times, and then i got the email reply from Angela, it was much easier because i return home late from work and email is great way to schedule the appointment. When the "team" came out everybody knew what to do, electrician - did electrical stuff, painter - start to paint, plumber - plumbing etc, nobody was on each other way and i just sat there and watch how everything is done in such professional way. When everything was done i was provided with the invoice, all work that has been done was explained on invoice. NO MESS, NO HASSLE - PRECILESS

The work was done very competently and he adjusted the lighting to my specifications. My only compliant was that he was 30-40 minutes late due to parking.

I was happy with work he did. I ended up having to pay a bit more. He was an hour early for the job. Responsiveness was fairly good. It wasn’t a terrible experience or anything.

It was great. They called the day before to confirm and the same day before they came. Dimitriy was right on time (I was a few minutes late) and came ready and prepared. He worked extremely quickly and was up for anything, he got way more done than I thought was possible in 3 hours and had a "can-do" attitude. I would definitely recommend the service.
Description of Work: Dimitriy performed a laundry list of random tasks in the house: installing locks, adjusting a door so it would close, moving blinds hardware that was installed incorrectly, fixing the water flow on the shower sprays, fixing a cracked wooden table leg, and finally installing some shelves in the basement.

Andre came out then, provided an estimate for repairs associated with a rental unit. The estimate was high so, I decided to ask a relative to assist with the smaller repairs to bring down the projected costs. Andre asked that I email him the list of repairs that remained to be completed - which I did. After this point, Andre became extremely unresponsive and just wasted my time by putting off the repairs and stalling but, never said that he would not do the work. He just strung me along for over 2 weeks and in the end, I decided I did not want to do business with him.
Description of Work: The work was not done as Andre cannot commit to a schedule or a timetable.

The person who did work in my apartment was George, he was very professional and did an excellent job. The first time he came I had bi-fold doors put up on a closet and then a week later I had the kitchen backsplash done, both jobs went well and were done to my satisfaction. I would certainly recommend this company and if I have other work that will need to get done I will call them.

Was not aqble to reach him right away to schedule the appointment. On the second day, I reached him by phone and he ask that I send him an e-mail with my work request and date. I sent him an e-mail which he responded to promptly. I was not able to get the scheduled day that I wanted that week but he was able to make the day in the next week. All of this was scheduled by e-mail. He set the start time also by e-mail. He arrived half hour late but he works very quickly. The quality of his work was very good. We would use him again. nRemember to allow him enough time to make the appointment.
Description of Work: He installed a large screen TV on a movable arm within a cabinet. He also installed 2 air conditioners.

I wanted him to pull all of the paint off of a window frame and hopefully have it match the floor. Part of the window was a chunk of plywood and it didn?t match. He let me know that, even if he used chemicals, it wouldn?t work. He gave me suggestions on how to make it look better. He then repaired a door that was on the horrible hinges and was always awful. He managed to fix a door that 3 other guys did nothing but apply a lot of swearing at. He was very attentive and even paid attention to my cat. He put together a table and chairs that I had purchased. He put four chairs together in less than one hour. He really made me realize I don?t know what I?m doing. He was very efficient, extremely clean, and very good with pets. He?s going to be picking things up for me from home depot so that when he comes back, we can continue on with other things. He doesn?t necessarily call to set the appointment, but that isn?t a major concern for me. There should be an ?A+? rating. He?s a great young man and he?s super trustworthy. He?s very interactive and volunteered lots of information. Most other people don?t necessarily share things to assure repeat visits, but he was up front an honest. He gets the job done and didn?t ask if I?d refer him or anything. I will definitely use his services again in the future.
Description of Work: He came out and honored an Angie's List Big Deal for handyman services. He did various jobs including paint stripping, table and chair assembly, etc.

It was a deal of $299 for the day. He did not actually finish everything because the weather was not great. He is going to come back another day to finish. What he did do was good work. I would recommend him. He was a little late but other than that he did a good job.

He was very responsive. In terms of quality, you need to check on him. The first job I paid him for wasn’t complete and he didn’t tell me he didn’t finish and he didn’t clean up the work. I was billed fully and it wasn’t until someone else brought it to my attention did I find out. Then he said, “I forgot to mention that I need to go back.” It was on one of my rental properties. He’s responsive and he works with you and he works on Sundays. As for quality of work, you get what you pay for and you have to pay attention. When he gave an estimate it didn’t include materials. I haven’t been given the fee from materials for the last job yet. When I thought the estimate was going to represent my total cost, it was going to be $600 more because of the materials. I told him his estimates should include materials so that I know how to budget. Those are just some of the things I have had to work with. When he broke down the chimney, he didn’t level it completely and he left a lot of bricks on the roof and debris in the yard. He never told me he ran out of bags. He never mentioned it; it was my tenant that told me about it days later. Aside from the quality of the work and the invoicing issues I had, he definitely tries to work with you. I would use him again, depending on the services.
Description of Work: We use Handyman of NY. The first job he did for me was to break down a chimney. This job he was doing some work on the roof because it was leaking.

He never showed up for the appointment. I called him two times and I finally got a hold of him and he told me that he tried to call at 10am and I told him he should have left a voice mail. He told me he did not have time to wait passed two rings and that I should pick the phone up when people call. I took work off and now I am upset because he did not show.

After a recent electrician replaced my circuit board, it left a massive whole in my wall. I also had a hole in the ceiling that needed repair. He repaired both to look like a new wall and ceiling. He also resealed the backsplash and painted the crown molding in both bedrooms. Also repaired a broken door that came off the hinges. He was prompt, and even called to let me know he was on his way and to confirm exactly what materials would be needed. It was refreshing to work with someone who was so prepared. He was professional, quick and well-priced! He moved swiftly from one task to another without dilly-dally. He was friendly and polite and cleaned up completely after each job. I wish I knew about him when I moved into this place but, next time I need any carpentry work done, I will definitely call him.

The gentlemen was on time and very compliant and agreeable. I had issues with the owner of the company in the beginning of our communication. There was a miscomunication between the two of us. I would strongly recommend that the person come out to your home and evaluate the service that you are requesting so there is no miscomunication with those needs.
