Handyman of NY

It was fine. The work was fine. I didn't pay anything extra. The guy was a very good worker, he didn't talk, he did what he had to do. He cleaned up too. He was very good. He didn't do the ceiling it wasn't included in the price. The price was great, you couldn't get anyone to work for less. The quality was very good.

They did not come, Would not come to NJ, although metro area.

I got this big deal refunded. I called them and they never called or showed up.

I had them repair a door frame. I don’t believe there were any additional fees. They completed the job, but I don’t think that it was the best fix that could have been done. Everything worked out fine.

Tlocator knob was not the right type so it could not be replaced. The serviceman did plaster the requested areas. He however broke a glass light fixture and covered it up. He left under two hours without offering to fix anything else in the remaining time.

The service was fine. They completed the work satisfactorily.

It eventually got the job done but it took a long time. Everyone was very polite and professional.

It didn't go well because he would never contact me to get the work scheduled. I tried contacting him multiple times.

I made several attempts to contact the provider and did not receive a response. I contacted Angie's List to seek a refund.

It went well. He performed the work as requested. He was prompt and efficient. He asked if there was anything else that he could do.

Everything turned out great. They were on time, picked up paint on his way, cleaned up well, and did a beautiful job. A great experience and I would use them again.

contact with company was in june-july, 2012. told them I wanted to have my tub reglazed and gave them my address in queens. the man who answered said he was out of materials and would not have supplies until mid to late august. called again in September and referenced my membership with Angies List and this was a follow up call because they had run out of supplies.I tried to lock in a date that he could come out to do the work but he seemed disinterested in taking this job and couldn't or wouldn't commit to a date in that next month. He made no effort to follow up, to fit me in, and I made no further effort to call them

I called to schedule work and provided details on having a few tiles changed in my kitchen floor. I initially spoke with the boss, and he agreed to the terms of the work and offered an additional hour for free. Then I waited a little while because I was gathering the materials for the job, then I called back and spoke with another gentleman, and I discussed the work and hours to be completed. He was very rude and said he wouldn't honor the deal their boss quoted. When I asked to speak with the boss, he refused. I told them that I would proceed to cancel and they said go right ahead.

He came on time and did a great job!

It went pretty good. I informed Mr. Arnopolous that i wanted to reglaze my jacuzzi bath tub. He explained to me that he didn't recommend doing tub jets because I couldn't use them after it dried. He also informed me there was an additional charge of $59.00 for a top coating. I agreed and he covered up and ventilated area. It went well and I was satisified.

It went well. There were no extra charges. He was on time. He knew what he was doing. I don't have to explain two or three times. He was done and he left.

Once the Handyman arrived at my house he took care of the work quickly, was helpful and easy-going, and did a good job for only a $100 "Big Deal" coupon I had purchased through Angie's List. The only catch was that scheduling him to get here was actually quite difficult; sometimes I found the phone lines to be unresponsive, and he completely flaked on the first appointment that I had made with him without any sort of apology or excuse. Since this time I have tried contacting him once more to do some work on my house, but the message was never returned. I believe this guy does good work but needs to improve his professionalism and scheduling habits.

The Handyman of New York has a great attitude at work, very professional, and seemed knowledgeable about what he was doing. He also takes credit cards, and that's what's important.

It took several months to have the appointment scheduled in order to have the work done. I purchased the service through an Angie's list deal. Email response was slow, however when the appointment was finally setup, the workman showed up were professional, neat and did a good job.

Demitri Slentez did the work and he is reliable and i used him several times. He is very knowledgeable.

Dmitiry was very professional and worked quickly. He called to say that he would be arriving late, but only showed up ten minutes past our set time. He installed everything that I wanted and cleaned up the mess as he went along. Very good bargain.

It went really well. He knew what he was talking about and his solution seemed to make sense.

So I bought the BIG DEAL at some point over the summer, I think, and then we scheduled an appointment for October. I had a short list for two or three hours of work. Just as luck would have it, the day of our appointment was the day Hurricane Sandy hit New York. We were obviously cancelled, but it would have been nice to get a call or email or even a text saying the obvious. But that was a chaotic time, so we didnt make a big fuss about it. About a week later, when the city was kind of back up, with schools open and trains running, we called and left messages to discuss rescheduling. The call we got back was supremely grumpy about how business was more or less at a standstill because of the gasoline shortage. Again, we got it--it was a really stressful period and we were all dealing with recovery. But it seemed like we should have gotten communication back just as an fyi, on what the situation was if we should not have been calling. We wanted to be sensitive to the unique challenges of the time, so we let the grumpiness slide. We mutually decided that when things calmed down and the gas crisis resolved, the handyman would call us to reschedule. We were assured our Big Deal would still be honored regardless of the day we reschedule to (since the Big Deal had been slated to.expire at the end of October). That conversation happened in November and we never got ANY communication back, to this day. (April now) In December, We pretty much decided to mentally write the Big Deal off as money lost and just let it go, since every single time we contacted the contractor, we were made to feel like we were bothering him. Challenging and chaotic circumstances aside, the lack of communication and overall testiness didn't really inspire a burning desire to work with the contractor for the initial Big Deal tasks or other projects we had in mind. The only thing I can comment on is the lack of communication and I dont know how much of that was our circumstances or if that was normal for this particular contractor. Willing to.give.the benefit of.doubt, which is why responsiveness got a D and not an F and the overall rating is a C since we have no way of assessing "Good" or "Bad" at this point.

Really well! He was very professional, punctual and polite and he did a very nice job. Definitely went above and beyond for me, and it was much appreciated.

I followed all of their suggestions with regard to drying time and cleaning products. Last month, all of the paint peeled completely off.
