Came for in home estimate for 2 bedroom apartment, overestimated 30 boxes and an additional $750 more than I ended up paying for an excellent mover.

They were SO friendly, accommodating, energetic, and amazingly efficient. All of my furniture was moved with care and so well. They made sure to be neat and organized while they were bringing things in. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone!

I've used Big John's for all my moves within New York City (and I move a fair amount). They're probably not the cheapest you'll find, but they do a great job and it's worth it to know you're hiring a company that knows what it's doing. They show up on time, don't break anything, and the moving crews have always been courteous and professional. I highly recommend them.

The experience was wonderful. They were fabulous, prompt, professional and cheerful. The price was good. They packaged my oil paintings beautifully. They drove some furniture upstate and that worked perfectly. We liked them very much.

Overall this was a great experience. The men were extremely polite and professional and wanted to do a good job. When they needed to bring a 4th guy to help move and pack, the owner told he that he would provide the extra manpower at no cost. The final price came in higher than expected because the initial estimate was low, and John made it right by refunding more money than I expected. I appreciated how polite and helpful the men were, and John's responsiveness to keep his customers happy. I would definitely recommend this moving company and plan to use them in the future.

They arrived on time. Did a great job quickly. Handled everything with great care. Items i had to take apart to move in thay got out without having to dismantle saving at least an hour on the move.

Overall, the experience was pretty amazing. They were really courteous and responsive. From the moment they gave me the estimate, to the moment they revised the estimate to match a competitor's price, to the moment when they hauled heavy and giant items very very carefully through my building and home. They were discrete, professional and I would recommend them hands down to anyone doing a small or big move. I have been dealing with many contractors and businesses during my move (plumbers, roofers, floors, cabinet makers etc) and these guys rate at the very top of the pile, making my life EASY during a stressful time. I can't say enough good things about them! I wouldn't have believed that movers could do such a good and thorough job. they did.

Big Johns was prompt, courtious and professional. The experience started with an in home estimate that ended up being very accurate. My husband and I did not finish packing in time and Big Johns did a great job of getting things boxed up and moved out. They worked h****** a very hot day and under move in conditions that were not ideal (the service entrance in our new apartment was narrow and steep). I would recommend them to anyone.

When I complained, the management was rude and dismissive, saying I had taken too long to complain (even though I couldn't have had any idea what they did until there was a problem). They also said I couldn't prove it was their crew that caused the problem. Maybe I can't prove it, but that's not how you treat a customer.

Their price was within the other prices we looked in to. They were on time and professional. They were very good, and we were happy with the results.

My experience with Big John's Moving was pleasant and easy from the time I first used the company's website to the point when I phoned the company to say that I would not be using its services. The only reason I did not use Big John's is that I found another, smaller, company recommended to me by friends which would cost just a bit more than half of what Big John's Moving would have cost me. However, if the smaller, more affordable company had not come so well recommended to me by friends, I would have been very happy using Big John's Moving and expect that I would have been as pleased with the move itself as I was with the process of getting an estimate from Big John's. I appreciate that Big John's called me the same day I requested an estimate, that the company was willing to work with me so that I could try to accomplish as much of the estimate process over the phone, and that it provided useful information to guide my move and my decision-making process about choosing a mover. Each person I spoke to or met with at Big John's was professional, patient, polite, and able to answer all of my questions. Each of these encounters gave me great confidence in the quality of the company's work and its attention to detail.

I had used Big John's first in the 1990's for a local NYC move and then again in 2001 for a long distance move, and they were always great, the staff is friendly, professional and calming with good humor on that most stressful event. I called them again this year for a local move in Manhattan and this time moved without moral support from friends and family, due to schedules. From the estimate process with Nick and the on site move day experience with Jessie and Francisco, the move went flawlessly. They were great, on time, under budget and all the time pleasant and nice and so careful with my possessions. They also filled the role of keeping me calm as my "life" got packed up and moved. They made the day go smoothly and there was no damage or any challenges with getting my move completed. I will use them again and strongly recommend them as a reputable company who maintains their business model consistently over the years.

They were prompt and fast. One thing I did not expect is that they charged me for transit to my first apartment and so it ended up costing more than I had anticipated.

The guys were great. I was amazed at the stuff they were able to carry. They packed up things I didn't pack (charged me of course) and did a very good job.

I was very happy with Big John's. Everyone I dealt with seemed to honestly want to make my move go more smoothly and keep the cost down. The estimate was very accurate and they were very accommodating when my needs changed closer to moving day. Everyone was very professional. The movers were on time and most importantly, all my belongings arrived in one piece. I would recommend them.

The move went very smoothly. It had been arranged on just several days' notice which really worked for us.The men arrived right on time. (Several confirmation calls had been received prior to the move.) The whole process took less than 1 1/2 hours. We were required to pay for a minimum of 2 hours plus an additional 1-1/4 hour for travel time. Payment had to be in cash or by bank check. The movers were courteous and professional.

I would call this company very honorable. They guarantee you that if your bill winds up being thirty percent more than what they estimate initially, they will refund your money. They did that for me. They had underestimated the price of my move. I think they thought since I had an apartment, I would not have as much stuff as I did. They did refund my money though and boy was that honest. I referred them to my sister since they were so honest with me. I tell people they are great.

I thought they did a very good job. There was nothing broken! The workers did show up to the move on time and they delivered the items on time. They came prepared with enough tie down ropes and other supplies to ensure the safety of my things during the move. There were four people doing the work.

The workers were prompt, polite, and more careful with our stuff than I would have been if I had moved it. They worked quickly and efficiently, and the final price was below the estimate. We were very pleased with our experience and would use them again without hesitation.

They were fantastic every step of the way! This is the 4th time we've used Big John's in 12 years, and I've gladly referred them to many other people during this time. They are experienced, knowledgeable, prompt, and polite. The final price even came in below the estimate! Another mover I contacted never called back. The phone staff, the estimator and the packers/movers were all true professionals. They made my moving day far less stressful than it could have been!
