They sent a gentleman to give us an estimate, and he was very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. On moving day, it was raining, but the crew arrived punctually, and they, too, were professional, and treated our things carefully. Nothing was broken, scratched or lost. The move went smoothly and quickly. All the furniture was put in the place we designated. Best of all, the final cost was actually less than the original estimate. We have recommended Big John's to several friends/acquaintances, and each one has had a positive experience using them.

These are wonderful movers. I have used them 5 times since I have lived in Manhattan, and have always had wonderful moves. They just make everything easy. A really nice guy came and estimated how many boxes we would need and the cost of the move. The movers came exactly on time. They packed everything with amazing care. And they were efficient. They were also really nice guys! I would use them again in a heartbeat!

The entire experience with Big John's was excellent. The in-apartment estimate was timely, punctual, and very fair (coming it at around $300 lower than the other quote I received from another reputable company). The office staff was friendly and very responsive: The management company of the building that I moved out of was extremely disorganized and kept requesting, receiving, and then losing the COI. The office staff at Big John's was responsive each time. On the day of the move, I could not have been happier. The moving crew was punctual and brought all the supplies that were discussed during the estimate. They moved with experience, efficiency, and purpose. As a results, they completed the move about a half hour sooner than expected which meant the cost was about $85 lower than I was quoted. Everything moved was undamaged and placed where I requested in the new apartment. The crew was very friendly and professional. I was VERY happy to give them a big tip, but unlike many other companies, they did not mention the word at all. I even had to chase them down the hallway to give it to them. All in all, the service is excellent across all parts of the process. The price is fair and, especially worth it, given the highest level of service. I will recommend them to EVERYONE I know who is moving, and I will be certain to use this company again for any future personal moving needs.

We were very satisfied. We had antique furniture and everything came in one piece, nothing was damaged. They handled the furniture very carefully. They knew what they were doing. They were experienced furniture movers and they moved everything into our house from this big truck without breaking anything. It was quite amazing actually.

I really like that they gave a senior discount. The same people that packed my items also moved them, which surprised me. Excellent service, very professional. They didn't just leave everything when the move was complete, they also set it up.

Big John's Moving, Inc. what can we say? For once we got it right when choosing a moving company to haul our lives from NY to Houston! From beginning to end, I've never seen a more organized, professional, reasonably priced moving service in all my life. The estimator was great, their marketing portfolio, the office staff, the drivers, the trucks, the packing materials, the movers - same guys on both ends - not a scratch on anything, and we're talking antique buffet table, a huge grandfather clock, expensive antique chair, breakable statues, tons of dishes and personal stuff - nothing was damaged, nothing was lost. They even warehoused our stuff between houses for almost a month for no additional charge!! They treated our belongings as if they owned them. These fellows have all been with Big John for 10 - 20 -30 yrs, no wonder he's running such a tight operation. We were thrilled with the job the guys at Big Johns did. When they first came to our apt and we gave them a sense of the job, Mike was already familiar with our new building and made us feel comfortable with the process. Come packing day, he and his team arrived right on time and packed our 2BR 2BA apt in about 3 hours... slightly ahead of schedule. The following day the arrived first thing to move us to our new place. They were quick, efficient and friendly and the price was very close to the final estimate they gave us. We would recommend them to any one very highly.

Big John's Moving is the best in the business! I've moved many times in my life and Big John's has been my preferred mover each and every time. This move was particularly stressful as I had several delivery points in the city as well as Maryland. From the estimator, to the office staff, to each ans every crew member, I felt completely safe and secure knowing that every piece of my furniture, from the antique dresser to my every day dishes, were well taken care of. All the items made it to the delivery point with no damages because they made sure to wrap every piece with padded blankets. At the end of the move, I couldn't be happier. Big John's certainly transformed a potentially horrific moving experience into a pleasant one and I will continue to recommend them to all my friends and colleagues. Thank you Big John's!!

This provider is great. They were on time, stuck to estimate, treated our stuff like it was theirs, courteous, cleaned up after themselves. I could not be more pleased.

WOW!!! ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!! Everyone involved in this move (the office staff, the estimator and the actual movers) was courteous, competent and very knowledgeable. It was a complicated move with more than one stop and iffy weather. Alex and his staff arrived right on time. They complied with the building's various requirements, as did the company. Because of Big John's Moving company's professionalism, every facet of this move was stress free for us. It was worth every cent!! (I also used Big John's in 1995 when I moved from Queens to Manhattan: this was also a two pronged move. They were great then and I am happy to say that they are still a great company.)

The crew was efficient and professional. We only had a little bit of an issue with the attitude of one of the crew members, the others were fantastic. Overall, they did a great job and we would use them again. All pieces arrived to our new home in the shape they left our old home. They took great care of our belongings and they arrive here exactly when they said they would.

We'd used Big John's before, at 100 United Nations. Experience was pleasant. This time around, not so much. Even though they were good about the date we had picked and changes we had to make last minute, we were EXTREMELY disappointed and shocked when they tried to charge us DOUBLE than the estimate at the completion of the move. We had packed most of the stuff ourselves and the move was 9 blocks and 4 avenues away, so at most, a 15-20 minute drive. Nothing was different from the time the estimator came to our penthouse to give us the estimate than from when Big John's came, except that the time they thought it would take to get the job done ended up being less, so essentially, the cost should have been the same or less. But for some bizarre reason, they wanted to charge us practically double the estimate. I asked Vivann about this, but she was unclear and kept telling me that she would have to check with the boss to see if she could get the charge lessened. We had to truly defend our stance and the back and forth was very stressful and felt very unprofessional. It was truly a mind boggling experience and we expected better from Big John's. Disappointed at this inconsistent experience because we thought we'd found a reliable moving co. but alas, this does not appear to be the case. We felt as if we were being taken advantage of and that is never a good feeling. Most of us work hard for our money and when we feel that somebody is trying to take it from us unjustly, it is a very disconcerting feeling.

They did a fantastic job. They showed up early, they finished early, they were very knowledgeable about how to handle things, they came in under budget, and they were very pleasant to work with. Nothing was damaged, nothing was lost.

Arrived as promised but told me estimator was inaccurate and additional service and fees would be needed. In the end, I think they were right but it was frustrating to have a last minute up charge upon arrival. To be fair, they gave me a break on those charges in light of the initial mis information provided. They moved in the time frame promised but most importantly in a very quality like professional way. There was some damage but less than most prior moves (but still not completely unpacked). They were challenged to overcome a small back stair well and worked hard to overcome it. It was not easy. They also moved some existing items around to accommodate the new furniture. All in all, I think they did a great job and would use them again! Provided a tip upon job completion but called following day to get contact their info, as I wanted to give them a little more but had run out of cash the prior day, as they wound up with more movers than I had anticipated. The customer service folks said they would send me their contact info but it never arrived in order to send the extra tips. I do however very much appreciate their hard work and professionalism! Thanks much to the team!!

Perfectly. The guys worked so hard and relentlessly, I was almost tempted to exhort them to slow down. But I restrained myself. As you see, this was a long time ago. I had vowed to express my enthusiasm for them in a public forum. I forgot. Let this testify to how satisfied my wife and I were with the service: from the courteous, efficient, and scrupulous office staff to the foreman and his workers. Couldn't be happier.

The move was excellent! I had a referral from a friend and I'm glad that I went with them because they did a great job.

They don't do a lot of long hauls. They do a lot of moving to Florida and the Dallas area. They did me a huge favor by going to San Antonio. I had packed some of it up but they came and finished it. They were fabulous. It was a one bedroom apartment. I did this in November of 2013 and was not in a hurry for it so they stored it in a warehouse until they delivered it in March 2014.

It went excellently. I recommend them to everyone.
