Description of Work: lazy and careless. to cover up for both, she claimed my vacuum cleaner was broken--bought it 3 months ago, a well-known brand. i ended up doing a lot of the cleaning myself--and to prove i did not have any hard feelings toward her, i gave her a pair of brand new leather boots that my daughter no longer wanted--she is in europe and i had to get rid of them, in any case. |i do not blame the service provider. instead, i hold angie's list responsible. you are supposed to screen, interview and hire your staff. you seem to be more interested in making money than in providing reliable service. think about this.

We are very concerned to see that this client was so unhappy. After every initial visit, we send emails asking for feedback to make sure all went well and the client was happy. We cleaned for this client on 5/15 and sent a follow up on 5/18. We never heard back from the client, and could not make it right. We spoke to the cleaner when we saw this review and she mentioned that the client mistreated her from the start. He raised his voice and started yelling at her. She felt uncomfortable and asked to leave but he demanded that she stay, which she did. We take offense to his characterization of our company as Lazy and Careless. When the cleaner asked about the broken vacuum, the client gave her a dust buster to vacuum a three bedroom apartment and shouted when it was taking too long. The cleaner in question has been part of our staff for a long time and is well liked by her clients.

I am truly surprised by this review. The client purchased a 3 hour deal prior to the cleaning. Grading us with a D for price is harsh since she knew the price up front. We send a follow up email to every client after the first cleaning and she responded "She did just fine -- thanks!" Then asked for another visit. If there were things missed we would have found a way to correct it. I'm also surprised the client has asked for another visit after giving us an overall 'C'.

Description of Work: Sheila did a great job cleaning my 850 square foot apt., including inside of refrigerator and inside of casement windows. She was punctual and courteous. Although even at the discount rate of $108 plus $20 gratuity, Best Home Services is out of my budget on a regular basis, I did feel I got good value for the money.
