I am very pleased with them. I think they are excellent. They are very responsive and keep me informed of what's going on. They are very flexible. Their price contends with others.

Overall, the experience was incredibly helpful. I learned of this service through Angie's list and have called and will call this company as many times as I need their services. I have some health problems which prevent me from doing much cleaning in my home and this service is a blessing.

I emailed the service through Angies List and got a phone call back from Mary within 20 minutes. I told her what my space was like, she gave me an estimate and we set a time. Two lovely ladies showed up (10 min early) and got straight to work. 3 hours later my place was clean in a way it hasn't been in years. They worked hard and got the job done. I am very happy. I signed up to Angies list specifically to find a cleaning service and I found a great one. I will certainly use The Best Home Services again.

My experience with Best Home Services was terrific. Mary has a big personality. As I bachelor, i could hear strains of my mother as she advised me to tidy up prior to the cleaning appointment. Wilma arrived at 8:55 for a 9:00 appointment. She went right to work and did not stop until the end of the 6 hour initial visit. The apartment looks great! I told Mary that I wanted the initial focus to be on the kitchen and the bathrooms. That's where wilma spent the first 4 hours and they look better than they have ever looked.

I will most certainly continue working with Mary, Wilma and Best Home Services.

Like some others have reported, my initial contact with Mary was quite off-putting. Her office number is apparently also her home number, so when I called at 8:00 on the Sunday after Christmas she appeared to be none too happy--so much so, in fact, that I considered cancelling my estimate request. However, she did call me back the next morning and was able to set up an appointment for me the very next day--and this was during a blizzard! She sent two people, both of whom did a fine job, and she kept me in the loop on their travel progress through nearly impassable roads. The cleaners were able to get our the grout in our shower super clean--it's a white as when we moved in. They did a great job. Mary did put rather a hard sell on us to use her bi-monthly or monthly service, which I was interested in, but the pressure was, again, rather off-putting. (That and the initial contact are why I gave her a C on professionalism.) Having said that, though, we're still considering using her regularly. And I do get the sense that Mary will do anything to make the job right and that she takes great pride in the work she does; I think that's a benefit the bigger outfits probably don't have. Overall, my experience was very good. I'll certainly be using Best Home Services again, and I will recommend them to others, as well. Don't let a brusque initial contact put you off :)

As this is my first time hiring a cleaning service, I must say that I had an absolutely WONDERFUL experience with Judith today. I live in a large 1BR and have not cleaned the apartment in 3 months or so due to a very hectic work and school schedule. Chaos beyond chaos!!! Judith arrived on time (9am) and began to tackle the mess immediately. I did assist her in putting away my laundry and dumping papers and trash, because I felt horrible having her do everything by herself. I felt so comfortable with her presence in my apartment that I fell asleep in my bedroom for several hours while she did her work in the other rooms. When I woke up I was in awe at how clean my apartment was. I swear I saw those glistening cartoon stars on everything she touched and wiped. Judith did take 61/2 hours to clean my apartment, and I am so sorry that she had to go at this task alone. Should my apartment get to this magnitude of dirtiness again, I will request 2 cleaners (one of them being her). But I highly doubt this will happen again. I intend to continue with this housecleaning service bi-weekly/monthly. It is a bit pricey compared to what I've heard my friends pay for the same services that this company provides, but after this experience it is truly well worth the money that I spent. (FYI: The above price quote excludes tip) I am extremely pleased with my experience and have already begun recommending this company to others who are interested in having their house/apartment cleaned.

They did a great cleaning job and both the person who runs the service and the cleaners have been very pleasent to work with. One of the cleaners now comes back on a regular basis. We are paying a bit more than other people I know but so far it has been worth it.

I am hard to please. The first person sent to my house arrived late which to me is a bad sign. I spoke to Mary, the owner of the company, she made note and sent me a second person who i have been very pleased with ever since. I feel very comfortable allowing her to enter my apt in my absence, she is very thorough and communicates very well, pointing out things i appreciate knowing. She calls me and leaves notes. Its great to have found someone who does what i need without any fuss or miscommunication. Additionally, Mary is detail oriented and runs her business very well. I have had no problems and i have not complaints. I highly recommend Best Home Services.

One day, the cleaning lady accidentally took my laundry card. I was notified by the owner of the business via a brief email two days later explaining the cleaning lady had inadvertently left the card in her pocket and that I would get it back next week. No apology. I called to explain I needed it back sooner because I had laundry to do over the weekend. The owner was unapologetic and was trying to give me solutions (e.g. buy another card) instead of simply offering to fix the problem.

I'm a bit of a procrastinator and I knew my Aunt Bev was coming to town but I tried to convince myself that I could handle the clean up job myself (yeah right)... so at the last minute, a day and 1/2 before, I panicked and remembered the commercial by Angie's List, joined, searched for housecleaning services, read the reports and then called Best Home Services at 10 pm at night! Mary, the owner, called me the next morning, woke me up, I guess she owed me, and quickly reassured me that I was covered and could relax! I fell back asleep with a smile on my face. Later that day, I got a call from the same company with all the logistics. Judith, the chosen one, arrived and changed my life... ok my apt and I'm so glad I chose this service. I highly recommend them and Judith is simply the best! Thank you Angie, Thank you Mary, Thank you Judith... for making my visit from my Aunt Bev to my somewhat cluttered NYC apt. a success! Very thorough, took comments and correction well. Would definitely recommend.

They have been very good so far. They started the work couple of months ago. They charge about $115 for 4 to 5 hours of work. The cleaner is good. The woman that handles the service is rude sometimes.

I called Mary at Best Home based on recommendations I had seen on Angie's List. Mary was accommodating and delightful. I needed to get my apartment thoroughly cleaned before going for knee surgery. Not only did she show professionalism about the services her company could provide but also showed concern about my health. I described to her my space--small, cluttered (in a neat sort of way), with lots of things that needed to be picked up dusted and replaced on a clean shelf. I told her there were lots of places that were stuffed with stuff and hard to get to, but they had to be gotten to. She understood perfectly what was required. She sent me Judith--extraordinary Judith. Judith showed me ways to use a vacuum that had never occurred to me before. She cleaned places that hadn't been cleaned in I don't want to say how long. Any time I suggested she take a break or a glass of water she refused and just kept working intensely and non-stop the whole time. She stayed within the time Mary had budgeted for the job, even though we all understood it was possible to go over that time frame. My apartment shined and smelled great by the time she left. Mary contacted me to ascertain how Judith had performed, but she also contacted me to wish me good luck with my surgery. I felt as though I had made both a professional and personal connection with Mary and Judith. The services performed were excellent and I would recommend using this service without hesitation. I know I will again.

My initial contact with Mary was a bit off putting but she explained that she was waiting for the tech guy to install a new computer system. I then understood why she seemed a bit gruff. I had no problems whatsoever with further communications with Mary. I needed work done on a Saturday and suggested 10AM. Mary then explained that 9AM would be better for the initial visit as some of her employees worked two jobs that day. Again, I understood her rationale. Mary is upfront and explains everything to you. Camille was the person who came to clean my apartment. She was 1/2 hour early and asked if that was ok. I had no problem with that and she got started. After she finished each room, she asked me to check to see if everything was done to my satisfaction and it was. I also appreciated the fact that she put everything back where I could find it. I would use this service again. I would ask for Camille again.

My husband and I are renovating our bathroom. We wanted to try and schedule for the apartment to be cleaned as soon as we thought the bathroom would be finished. Mary was able to schedule us for Monday, the Labor Day holiday, which was wonderful! Unfortunately, we were not as far along as we thought we would be by Monday. Things were still in a bit of disarray when the woman who came to clean, Lenore, arrived. She was wonderful! She was very pleasant and easily cleaned around us while we worked to move things out of the way. The place looked great when she left, and we were very happy with Lenore's work (especially considering the conditions she had to work with). I would highly recommend Best Home Services.

When I made the appointment, the owner was not enthusiastic about the time; I wanted to start at 10 am since we have late night schedules and sleep somewhat later in the morning. The owner preferred to start earlier, so she could fit two jobs in the same day--the ownder then agreed to the 10:00 AM starting time. We were, in fact, awakened at 8:30 by the cleaning person. She stated that it was a mistake. Since we were not ready for her, we told her to come back in an hour. When she returned, we suggested she start with putting Easy Off in the oven. This had been discussed with the owner when we made the appointment. The cleaning person balked at this, so my husband ended up spraying the oven. I then pointed her to one of the bathrooms and asked her to start there. I went into another room and when I came back, she was still just standing there, I again pointed her to the bathroom. At that point, she requested that I show her the apartment first. She then started in the bath and called me in. She advised me that the shower curtain liner would have to be washed in the machine; she would not clean it herself. After this less than wonderful start, she did get to work. She asked me on one or two occasions if I really wanted something done, which we did. Another problem as that we told her THREE TIMES that we did not want her to clean the HDTV. We explained that the screen scratches and dulls easily, and I would do it myself. She said she understood. But by the end of the day, I had to stop her because she started to put the brush attachment of the vacuum cleaner on the screen of the set. She seemed rather slow. The owner had given me an estimate of 5 hours, but she took 8. It is hard to judge whether this was necessary. We give the apartment a cursory cleaning, but it was in need of something more thorough. On the one hand, she did get to a number of jobs that we never or seldom get to. On the other hand, there were some obvious lapses. For example, one side a piece of furniture was dusted, but the other side was not. After my husband sprayed the oven, she did clean that but totally neglected the broiler pan beneath the oven, which my husband had also sprayed. The original estimate of $148 was was based on 5 hours. In the end, it cost $226. In addition the email sent out to confirm the appointment hinted that a gratuity was in order. In the end, I was not sure of a grade. I took one letter grade off because of attitude problems. I wasn't sure how to judge the cleaning. It was, on the whole, adequate, but hardly sterling. In the past, I had used another cleaning service through Angie's list; she had also been very slow. But she had been very thorough. That cleaning job was far superior to this one. Moreover, that cleaning person was a whole lot more cooperative.

This company handled our project in an excellent and professional manner. Rabbia had exacting attention to detail and produced results for which we could not have hoped. Thank you for the superior job.

The woman who came to clean, Melissa, was very punctual and came 20 minutes early to accommodate my schedule. She got right to work. Overall bathroom cleaning and vacuuming was solid. Floor cleaning and dusting was exceptional! She really cleaned all surfaces in my home. Overall communicating with Best has be extremely easy, Mary is very responsive and I will continue to work with Melissa and can tell that it will easy to communicate with her as well. She was very receptive and professional. I am picky and have used multiple other cleaning services, thus far, Best is the Best!

I highy reccomend both the peson who arrived punctually at 9:am and the professional yet friendly attitude she displayed. I am happy to have found her. The work was completed in the time prearranged and there is a great deal of flexibility in personality which I appreciate.

Overall, it was a very positive experience. I initially contacted Mary, the coordinator, via email, and she responded very quickly by phone. She made the arrangements with my husband, but was also kind enough to email me with the details, including a very clearly written list of required and suggested cleaning products, and instructions for payment. She had two women come for 4 hours each, for a total of $226. The women were 20 minutes late, which did bother me, but they stayed 20 minutes beyond the scheduled time to make up for it. I felt one of the women did a more thorough job than the other one, but it was a huge job (the apartment hadn't been really cleaned in almost a year), and I was impressed with how much they got done in 4 hours. I don't think our stove looked that clean when we first moved in! Definitely make sure you have the required products at your home when they arrive - we had forgotten to get one of the products, and I ended up having to make a run to the store to get it. I asked that they clean our ceiling fans, and although they seemed a little surprised at the request, they did get two of them done, and did a great job (it involves taking the covers off of 4 bulbs, hand-washing them, and then washing the blades while standing on a ladder - not an easy job). I should also mention that it was 95 degrees that day, and only part of the apartment was air-conditioned. After they left, Mary followed up with an email to see how it went, and was responsive to my complaint about the tardiness. Overall, I was most impressed by her attention to me as a customer. I don't think I can afford to use the service on a regular basis, but I would definitely use them again for a big cleaning job.

The cleaning person arrived on time & was very pleasant. She cleaned my apt thoroughly, as well as the refrigerator & the medicine cabinet (which is what I specified). The place looked shiny & smelt clean when she was done. Ms. Cavanaugh herself was also very responsive, polite & well spoken. I was quite satisfied with the service & will recommend it.

I loved their service. And I have to admit that I'm addicted and will call for their services again and again.

They are good and I have had a satisfactory experience with them. I do not have any complaints.

She has been on time, does a good job and is very nice. I would recommend her to others.

I called them at the last minute and they were able to come out and they did a great job.
