Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal for this electrician and found that they lied about showing up and claimed that I had a commerical fixture when it was a standard Home Depot quality outdoor fixture. Moreover they lied about bothering to check it out as they didn't bring a ladder and neglected to use mine despite the fact that I told them mine would reach. After making me wait for weeks to get scheduled because of the volume from the Angie's List promotion, they pretended to show up and "ascertain" that because I had a commercial fixture they didn't have the proper materials in that van to fix it. They made both facts up because it was convenient. When I called the owner and tried to call him on those misrepresentations, he showed no flexibility in trying to get someone there to fix it within a week. When I told him I'd be writing this up for AL he replied that he didn't really care as he had lots of positive reviews and one negative one wouldn't matter. Word to the wise: don't use this contractor. The owner lied repeatedly and his staff is seemingly unprofessional and unprepared. Caveat emptor.

Description of Work: The fellow from Shore Electric was very polite, nice guy. He told us that the company did not do work in Brooklyn, which is the location of the house that needs the work.

Description of Work: I had purchased a Big Deal for 2 hours worth of electrical work for $99. The vendor is Shore Electric who I called to come in to assess how long the job would take (recessed lighting in bedroom). Unfortunately, the contractor who came in seemed averse to doing the work and stated it would take longer than 2 hours. I was really disappointed by his demeanor and this whole experience of using Angie's List.
