AVA Electrical & Lighting Svc

Lucas was polite, prompt and consistent. He reviewed the job with me in advance, set a price (accounting for Angie's List coupon), and a timetable for completion. It was certainly a small job, but he was very professional (as was his assistant). I am writing this review 2 years after the fact (I forgot...but wanted to acknowledge his good work), so I also may not recall the exact price (might have been closer to $300)...but regardless, he gave a price that was reasonable and stuck to it. I definitely plan to call AVA when I have my next electrical need.

Lucas was prompt and professional. There was no need for a repair but he was helpful. I intend to use him for future projects

They did a very good job. They gave me an estament for a future project that was reasonable. They were very professional and explained everything to me very clearly step by step so I was able to understand what was happeneing. I felt like I had a family member working with me. I even talked to a family member who is an electrition out side of your area who agreed that this provoders pricing was reasonable.

I called on a holiday for general information and a ball park estimate. Lucas not only answered the call but came that same day to give me an estimate since I was off from work. He was knowledgeable and professional. I asked about a special that I noticed on Angie's list and he told me that it was applicable. Even before applying the special from Angie's List, the original phone estimate was more reasonable than previous places that I called. We schedule the job for that Saturday. Unfortunately it snowed that morning but not only did Rich still come but he was parked out front 15 minutes earlier than our scheduled time. I was pleased with the work done and have already begun telling friends about my experience.

Good. . . . Richie found the problem, secured the wires and even protected an aluminum wire with a solution. . . He's good at what he does and a nice guy . . . even changed some bulbs for me.

I couldn't ask for a better crew. Lucas and Richard listened to what we wanted first, and then suggested a more energy and cost effective way to do it. Always punctual and polite. Considering the size of the job, they finished sooner than I expected. They also HONOR their warranty. I give them the HIGHEST recommendation possible.

The work was done with professionalism and promptness. They explained everything that was happening and were very very fair on cost. If I need any additional work done I would use them again.

I called Lucas to get a free estimate before Christmas, the technician's name is Richard. He is very experienced and onsited ontime. He explained clearly to me about the scope of the work and how much was the cost. After getting my gas cooktop, I scheduled service with Lucas by sms. Then the service was done today, Richard was ontime as always, the work was very nice and finished quickly. He cleaned up everything in the end. I got an invoice with clear statement about what was done. The whole experience is great, call/sms communication is very smooth, so easy to make schedule, the technician is always ontime and professional, the price is reasonable. Another great thing is that they use high quality part! The model of the GFCI outlet is Legrand 1595W, I like the brand and it looks great!

The original outlet was only for lighting and shorted out the night before the service. The Local volunteer Fire department came and pulled the box to check for attic smoke of fire, ruining the local wiring which was over 70 years old. AVA cam, cut back the leads to a new , clean connection and installed a new Fan Box and installed a fan previously purchased. This was my second time using Ava electric and both went great.

So happy with the service. Lucas did not have the "pull-chain" mechanism so actually took the time to go to the store and get one -- the entire process (including his trip to the store) took less than one hour. Also, when I placed the initial service call the day before, I received a message that someone would get back to me in 1/2 hour -- which he did. So punctual and professional -- and fair.

They were great! They were efficient, friendly and neat.

The ONLY guy I ever spoke to was someone named Richard. I spoke to him on thurs. 7/31, explained the electricity is there but want a new fixture with a ceiling fan. My contractor won't begin the demolition till the electricity is set. He says he is presently doing a big job but will be there wed. 8/6 by 8 and will knock it out no prob. Shows up at 9:30 says he can't do it because he needs a special ceiling piece (ceiling fan mount). Instead gives me an estimate for $400 that includes an outlet repair. Agrees to Mon 8/11. Sat 8/9 calls to say he has another big job and can't come mon but will come wed. 8/13 at 8:00 am. Calls sun 8/10, says the job was cancelled and he WILL come mon at 8. On Monday he shows up in a s***** little economy car at 11:00 WITHOUT the ceiling fan mount. I ask "Do you even have a ladder in there?" Then he LEAVES to go to HOME DEPOT for the part. Returns to say they don't have the part but he can still do it. He does some wiring, comes downstairs and asks to be paid for the day. I say no, we agreed on a price for the job. He says "Thats not what Lucas says". Who the H*** is Lucas I ask? Now he writes up an estimate for the job. There is NO information about the company on this estimate< NONE! It says only that payment in full is due upon completion. I tell Richard I will call him when the contractor is done for the final fixture installation. RICHARD starts calling and calling me to see when he can come back and finish the job. Finally I set him straight explaining that HIS games are the reason construction had to be postponed for so long. The contractor finally begins two days later and asks me who did the electrical because it is so shotty and not up to code from what he can see. This was the final draw for me. I call an electrical inspector to evaluate the work done. He confirms in writing for me that poor quality of the work. I hire another electrician to do the final installation. Call to Tell Richard the bad news, offer to pay him $100 for the work he did and the again he says "LUCAS is not going to be happy". Last chapter, I get a threatening phone call from the infamous RICHARD threatening to put a LEIN on my house. Glad my bro is a lawyer, learned to record every conversation and document it all. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS BUNCH OF BOZOS

Richard arrived on time and did a great job installing outside motion sensor lights on a day that was very hot and humid.

hard. They were punctual, professional, courteous and supportive. They fully discussed all of my options in a calm pressure free manner. On th appointed day they arrived early for the job. It was performed flawlessly by Richard. He cleaned up nicely and I am quite happy with the work. I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them wholeheartedly.

I told Lucas my problem and he recommended I call the electric company (PSEG LI) to look into the problem and that should save me a lot of money. He offered to stop by first thing Monday morning if I didn't get a good response from PSEG LI. In the end, PSEG LI took care of the problem at no cost to me. Lucas could have come and charged me for the work, or at least an assessment. I commend his integrity and professionalism in not taking advantage of the situation. I will definitely call him for future projects.

it went very well and right on schedule that he gave me. very happy with the price and the job. other company going to charge us double the price and the ridiculous part ... the surge protector only $65 component and the other company going to charge us $400!!!!. Definitely going to reconsider to use Ava electrical company again to our updating projects in our house.

The work that was completed went smoothly and quickly.

Richard did the estimate and all work came within the time frame and estimated cost. Richard also did the work needed and was very professional and knowledgeable. All work completed and we are satisfied with AVA Electrical. We will use them again and would recommend them to others.

They did neet work, up to code. They came exactly when they said they would. There were no issues. I will use them again.

Lucas is awesome-- super professional, nice guy who is very easy to talk to. He arrived on time for the appointment and was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend him to everyone I know! :)

My mother is very picky about repair people coming into her home. Both she and I thought Richard was excellent! When I made the appointment with Lucas, we arranged for the electrician to arrive between 9 and 10 AM. Richard rang the bell exactly at 9. He is a kind and friendly person and made my mom feel comfortable right away. He showed us that her fixture was so old, she wouldn't be able to use her old thicker bulbs any longer. He chatted as he worked, changing the ballast, explaining what he was doing and tested the light a few times to make sure it was working well before he left. The cost was the hourly price we expected with the 10% Angie's list discount plus fair prices for the ballast and bulbs. We were very happy!

Lucas did a great job replacing an exterior gfci outlet switch; troubleshooting basement recess lights (bulbs were out) and tightening loose wires for a bathroom outlet switch. Service was very professional and efficient. I would definitely use AVA and Lucas again.

Lucas was extremely professional, reconfirming the appointment and showing up on time. It was a small job but I don't think it was an easy job. I appreciated his patience and manner.

I called, left a message and received a call back within a half an hour. I have dealt with this company in the past. Lucas provides outstanding service.I made an appointment, and he came and put in a new bathroom fixture. Finding him on Angies list, showed me the list was the only way to go.Anyone who uses AVA Electric, will have an electrician for life .He is knowledgeable, professional, honest, and reasonable. .
