Nick worked diligently and efficiently. He did all the work himself. He cleaned up after himself and did everything he said he would do. He ordered a French door that came in damaged and made certain to get a perfect replacement as quickly as he could. I can't recommend Nick anymore highly.

Nick was very easy to work with. I contacted him based on previous AL reviews. I described what we wanted and scheduled a consult. He came by as scheduled to take measurements and discuss the project. He was patient but persistent in following up after providing the estimate/contract as I got distracted by work and life. Once I got back on top of things he answered several questions then scheduled the install. He showed up on time with all materials and was done in a little over half a day's work, including some light excavating/leveling. He advised on upkeep and maintenance. It looks great, feels solid, and was exactly what we asked for. I'm not sure how he compares price-wise, but for my comfort level in dealing with him and the work done I'm happy.

Once again, I hired Nicholas. Small job this time. Once again, he went above and beyond to keep us happy. His work is professional and clean. His labor is very reasonable, and all in all he is a pleasure to work with.

Nicholas was on time he did respond with an estimate. He came to work on my deck with his lap top so he could watch the soccer game which was on. I have never had someone do work at my house especially construction in bare feet, but I thought if he does the job well who cares. So bottom line is. If you are looking for someone to do carpentry. Don't bother calling Old world carpentry.

The work was nice. It looked much better than what I had before. The guy we met was friendly and even after he built he cleaned up thoroughly. We also added some additional work and he didn't charge very much for the add-ons.

Nicholas was great from beginning to end. Pricing was good. He was very professional and did what he promised. He advised us where we need to invest and where we didn't need to, in efforts to save money. He worked up the plans and worked with our town for the inspections. We have a very old victorian home that was in need of porch repairs. After contacting Nicholas Miller (Old World Carpentry) he did show up on the day and time he said he would. He assessed the job and told us he would get back to us with a price and work schedule. After receiving other estimates we liked the way he proposed to do the repairs keeping with the style of the house. His price was fair. He gave us an itemized bill breaking down materials and repair with a starting date and finished the job within a reasonable amount of time given the work done. When the materials he ordered were delivered we gave him a deposit of approximately one half of the job ($4000.00) He showed up promptly every morning around 8;00 am or so and put in a full days work. He was able to use some of our original wood that was in good condition helping to keep within our budget. He was also easy to get in touch with. When I called his phone he always answered. When my husband had questions or issues he did address them right away. On the last day he finished the work we paid him the remainder of the job. He did a great job and we are pleased with the work. Also a very nice person, easy to work with, listens to suggestions. Yes I would hire him again.

The project went very well. The work was completed on time and relatively on budget. There were punch-list items that he needed to come back and take care of. I would recommend him again.

A very well deserved A+++ rating!! Nicholas Miller is a highly skilled carpenter who provides excellent service for very fair pricing. I got 6 estimates for everyone to do the exact same thing (remove a structure and build a deck and staircase, and install a storm door and entry door). Everyone came onsite to see, and everyone was given the same dimensions of the deck I wanted built. Nicholas' price was within my budget and- he did a beautiful job. He completed it within 10 days as promised (I tip my hat to him for this because the project started later then we both wanted it to- the town I live in took forever to produce a permit). He actually did more then I expected him too. He put a metal sheet on the bottom where the house shingles were and even painted it! He also shaved the railing in a fancy type of way. It's absolutely gorgeous. He cleaned up after the deck was completed. All in all, Nicholas was very pleasant to work with. I will use him again when I am ready to build a shed. I highly recommend him.

Nicholas did a great job. Built a great new surface on our patio and did it for a competitive price. His workmanship is excellent and he is personable and a good communicator. He left the worksite clean when he was done. 100% recommended!

Workmanship was very good. Nick actually listens to what you are saying and will accommodate your your request or explain why not. He explains why certain materials need/should be used and communicates with you. Neat worker. His prices were not the cheapest, but fair for the somewhat complicated job. The work was for an 1865 Second Empire style National Landmark house. I was impressed because he is very knowledgeable about old houses and likes working on them. Would hire again.

Nicholas was professional, prompt, and fair-priced. He worked within our budget to satisfied our goals.

We purchased crown moulding independently. Provider measured, cut and installed it. He completed as much of the caulking and repair as possible while the job set and left materials so that I could complete it myself. People come into the room and go "Wow!" because it looks so beautiful.

The owner was punctual and provided a reasonable estimate. He started exactly when he said; He gutted the Bath R and everything was on schedule initially. The negative was I felt that his assistance with the selection of materials was not as available as he offered. He did not provide any tile sample or model to aid in the selection of tiles or design. Being in the middle of moving and going to work 8-5pm daily, I would have preferred a remodeler who provides more guidance. In addition, he didn't replace the bathroom door ;he used same door. If you gutted the entire bathroom why would you not change the door? I was responsible for the tiles and bath room fixtures. The things that he did provide were not the best of qualities. He gave me a cheap outdated door knob and lock that requires a key for locking from the inside. It is the kind of lock with a key hole big enough to see right through to the other side of the of the door. Overall he did what the job required despite the final cost being slightly above the estimate . There was no significant delay. It is a basic to average job. There is a small chance that I would use his service in the future.

Everything went very smoothly. He was very accommodating, straight foward and honest. He did what he said he would do. He completed the services in a timely manner and cleaned everything up when he was finished . It only took him a couple of days. I was very pleased!

I am still thinking doing this work is the right choice or not and the pricing is not that god enough.I will revaluate my work later next year and will decide. No decision yet made whether that piece of work needs to be done or not, for now Iam keeping it in the back burner.
