The entire experience was great. Tony was very responsive and provided answers to my question on the spot, information on their process and an estimate, which was comparable to others. However, I appreciated the responsiveness, and decided on Floor Masters. They arrived earlier than i expected, which was not a problem with me. Nelson and Selville did the job, and they were thorough, hardworking and trustworthy. Tony came by 3x in the 4 days the job was getting done. In many instances, you don't see the "salesperson/contractor", so i appreciated his checking in.

John and his crew arrived on time each day. The work was preformed in a neat and timely fashion. End result looks amazing.

Spoke to John, told him of my urgency as I was leaving to go out of town. We met, and I am one to go with my gut feeling. I did not get any other quotes. I knew John was the man for the Job . We agreed on a price and I gave John access to our home. As promised he came, removed the furniture, removed old carpet (at least 25 years old) and placed it outside for pickup. We were in constant communications. Once he determined that there was too much damage to replace the wood in certain areas, we agreed to go with a dark stain. I left it up to John since I was not there to actually pick the color. He did the living room, dining room, hall and staircase. I was concerned about the color of the banister being different, John said not to worry. He was right. The job was completed in three days. He was kind enough to wait a few days for the floor to be completely dry and return to place some of the furniture back. He also noticed that the Carpets were not picked up by the Trash people and took it upon himself to bring them to the dump. My dear neighbors came in to the house, and said.......this is beautiful, we are going to do this. SO...my sincere recommendation is YES Floor Masters is a Quality company to hire to make your floors shine. Our job was A1. Thank you John!

Had living room and dining room floors (300 sq ft total) refinished. The floors were about 115 years old and have been covered with t carpeting for the last 25 years. We are amazed at how great they have come out and John and his employees all were great from helping us pick the right color and finish to the clean condition they left the house when it was completed and keeping to our requested schedule. Pricing was very competitive (not the lowest and far from the highest) Especially when you consider the extras like having to weave in a 3' x 3' section, replacing some damaged wood and wood that holes in it. Would highly recommend....very very pleased!

They did a very good job, pricing was very fair. They did the job over 3 days. It helped that no one was living in the house at the time. It took a few days for the smell to go away.

Highly experienced crew did a fine job. There was only a small amount of residual dust entering other rooms, even though crew taped plastic sheeting over doorways and closets to keep dust penetration to a minimum. We are very satisfied with the results.

We had an incredibly postive experience with Floormaster from the start. First, they were quick and knowledgeable, especially with the estimate. We had a very tight timeframe since we were closing on our house and only a 2 1/2 weeks to do the floors and the painting. FloorMaster came in and was responsive and ensured that the work was completed on time. Best of all, they did a fantastic job on our floors. They knew exactly what to do and advised us on the best finish. In addition, they worked very well with the painters - this was another important point given such a tight timeframe. There was very little dust and the guys kept the place clean throughout the duration of the job. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the product and would highly recommend FloorMaster.

I live in Tenafly, NJ, but used Floor Master because of the fair price I was given after several comparisons. They return phone calls in a timely manner, and they're patient and informative with any questions you might have. When they say they will be at your home at a certain time for an estimate or work, they are there exactly when they say they will be there. They have refinished my entire upstairs, including the stairs and have added a wood floor to my kitchen area. We think the work they did is beautiful with every detail considered. They made sure we were happy with their work before the project was finished, and their clean-up was perfect. How I wish I could find other workers in other trades who are as skilled, considerate, and as terrific as these guys!

FloorMaster recommended pulling up and replacing entire section of floor for $1800. Another provider was able to correct the problem with some additional screws for $175. Would not ask Floormaster for an estimate again.

Someone almost always answers the phone during business hours. The company is very organized. They are punctual. The workers put in a lot of effort and are very professional. They did a pretty good job of cleaning up. I was impressed with their operation

All of the employees were very professional. They made the process of choosing a color for the stain very easy- showed us several samples right on our floor. A small area was sanded the day before the job was to start and several different stains were applied so we could see how the final color would look. Once the work started, everything went very smoothly. They were punctual and the dust was minimal compared to the last time we had the floors sanded which was about 25 years ago. The floors look beautiful and I highly recommend this company.

The process went very well. Took 3 days - great results.

I had used John's services(Floor Master) years ago for my living room, dining room, and staircase. He did such amazing work that I kept his card and called to get an estimate for my 3 bedrooms(48 foot Hi Ranch) It was a hard decision to do these bedrooms because all the computers are set up in one room and my big screen T.V. and surround sound system and other electronic units are set up in the master bedroom. Finally I convinced my husband the time was NOW. We disassembled every electronic device prior to the job being done. We used painter's tape to hang all wires we could on walls and out of the way. We also taped all swinging doors on furniture. John responded immediately and came to the house the next day. He gave me an estimate, I said yes. I knew I would get good quality work, and I thought the price sounded right for what I wanted. I knew I would need a lot of heavy furniture as well as a VERY heavy king size Temperpedic bedset moved. In addition, my triple dresser is very, very heavy. The furniture in the smallest bedroom was custom made and had to be taken apart and put back together in a very specific manner. I also needed a saddle replaced within a doorway. He gave me a price for replacing a saddle, but when I showed him I had already purchased a saddle he just included the labor in the price. Finally I asked him to resand and restain my 3x5 kitchen table. He said he';s rather not, but we settled on 75.00 and he said he would. It's a true solid butcherblock table and the sanding job was done to perfection. The two workers showed up promptly on October 10th, the designated day. Their names were Bolivar and Luis. I could not have asked for a more competent, strong,polite, and super duo. All the drawers were stacked neatly by me and hubby prior to job, all knickknacks had been removed and placed in boxes by us as well. The two men proceeded to move all the furniture and sand all 3 floors. There was virtually NO DUST because I had an ANGIE'S LIST COUPON for DUSTFREE machine(something you MUST do) They were careful to put plastic over the passageway leading to livingroom area and cover the mirrored closets and they worked hard and clean. Hubby and I moved to the downstairs addition with the 2 cats and our laptops. It took a week. Monday- sand all floors and 1st coat poly, Wed, second coat poly and sand kitchen table and first coat table-Friday 3rd coat poly and second coat table...Monday, back they came to replace all furniture. We paid them a little extra to put all 36 dreawers back into dressers. It took them 10 minutes, It had taken us a lot longer so it was worth every cent. I must admit, it is NOT a pleasant job having floors sanded and revarnished while you live in a house. It stinks and it is disruptive and tedious. But we expected that and gave it our best shot. The men, their attitude and work ethic, and the results really made up for the inconvenience. I was able to call John(the owner) anytime I needed to and he would call right back, but honestly, these guys were great on their own and I was sorry to see them go at the end. We gave them coffee every morning they were here and they appreciated it greatly. They NEVER wasted a moment. Some do's and don'ts: If you want a job well done, PREPARE. We got cartons at Costco and put all books, knickknacks and stuff in non-work areas. We stripped the beds and cleaned all stuff from under beds. We unwired all the electronic equipment and put all lighter pieces outside of work areas. We got all our toiletries, clothes, supplies and cats out of the work areas and went to live downstairs. We removed all the drawers and got good painters tape to seal any swinging doors on furniture and tape all wires in room to above floor level. One more thing..we opted for semi gloss polyurethene NOT water based. My experience with the prior job in my Living room, dining room, and steps is that the stinky poly holds up MILES better than waterbased. We sanded and poly-ed but did not stain. The floors are natural colored oak. I NEVER use anything but a simple dry SWIFFER and/or vacuum on the floors. I will spot wash them with water and dry with a paper towel but have never used any wood type cleaners on my oak wood floors. Finally, we bought many good quality " Super Sliders" felt tipped pads for all our furniture bases and chairs. Bolivar and Luis gladly put them on as they replaced the pieces back into the rooms. I don't think that they were very knowledgeable in their area. Their pricing was also very high.

The floor bubbled up because of the humidity in the air. They came back at my earliest convenience and did the whole thing over for no extra cost. I was very pleased.

When I called for an estimate, John was the person who answered the phone and came right over to take a look and give me a price. I've used this company before and was very happy with their work. The price was a bit higher than I expected, but I've hired based on low prices in the past and was very disappointed. The only thing I would have done differently is take a closer look at the finish for the floor. What I thought was a matte finish, based on their previous work at my house, was actually a semi-gloss so I wish John and I discussed a bit more before the job was done. Despite this, the floors turned out beautiful and we were very happy with the results.

The owner answered my phone message the same day. Came promptly for estimate. Gave breakdown of prices. Asked me to empty out the room, but offered help with furniture moving. He also called the night before to make sure that I was ready to go on my end. This is good organization, good management. The job was dustless and trouble free. His fantastic crew was punctual, hardworking and polite. They checked with me to know whether I was satisfied with the stain, the sanding, the sealing, etc. We were very satisfied with every aspect of this job. I plan to use Floormaster again when we are ready to do the stairs and another bedroom. Do plan ahead. He asks for 50% deposit at start. Complete job of this size takes one full morning and three more short visits.

The job took a little longer than expected but that is because the workers were perfectionists. The dustless process kept most of the dust out of the home. The workers meticulously covered fixtures, etc. with plastic sheeting. We changed the color of the floor stain and finish and were very pleased with the results. A year later it still looks like new. Love the satin finish.

Fine. We had attempted this ourselves. It took us seven hours of backbreaking labor and $200 in equipment rental fees to sand the kitchen. When it came to the balance of the floor (two large rooms plus corridor), we threw in the towel. Floor Master did it all quickly, neatly, efficiently and for $550.00 (hardly more than two days equipment rental) good deal!
