Description of Work: John was very responsive and went out of his way to stay in touch with me throughout the job. I initially contacted him to replace a couple of dimmers and to check on a possible short in a third. I mistakenly asked him to replace the dimmers with non-dimmer switches and didn't catch the error till he had already replaced the two dimmers. He agreed to put in new dimmers instead without hesitation. He also determined that the short was in the circuit not the dimmer on the third but had to return with a larger ladder as the circuit was in the ceiling of our great room upstairs. He set a return date for completing the job. He also noticed a loose fixture on the outside of the house, which he fixed on his return. He was a pleasure to do business with, was very professional and I look forward to working with him again. It is comforting to know I have someone I can trust to do work on my home.

 + -1 moreI called Ilberg electrical and made an appointment for the mid-day the next day, that evening Mr. Ilberg called and asked if they can change the appointment to the early morning, between 8:30 and 09:00. Nick from Ilberg was at my house at 08:30, identified were the short was and corrected it (Outlet). Nick even called me after he left the house to apologies because he forgot to screw in a light switch that I pulled out myself looking for the short (I had already screwed the switch back in). I am very pleased with my experience with Ilberg Electrical and will be highly recommending them.

 + -1 moreWe called for an estimate on a Saturday and they (John) came to do it Sunday morning. He was extremely personable and obviously knowledgable. Sent us a written estimate which we received by Wednesday. Said he'd be here by 8:30 in the morning and was here at exactly 8:30. He and his assistant were fast, clean, and very friendly. They were also good with my dog. I will certainly hire them again.
Description of Work: Installed a kitchen exhaust fan through exterior wall of house with a switch, a bathroom exhaust fan vented through the roof, an exhaust fan in another room, a hall light fixture, an attic light, raised two kitchen outlets, and repaired an outdoor outlet.

 + -1 moreMr. Ilberg arrived shortly after we called and finished the jobs in 30 minutes (or less). He was completely professional, did wonderful work and was so pleasant througout. He did meticulous work and left the work area spotless. Our problem was solved virtually immediately and the cost was more than fair. We will be using Mr. Ilberg again to install recessed lighting and to replace other fixtures that throughout the house. We truly could not be more pleased!
Description of Work: Work done on a couple of outlets -- one needed to be replaced because it had been damaged and knocked out electricity for the entire circuit and another just needed to be replaced.

 + -1 moreThe main circuit breaker in our house was tripped for the second time in a few months. I called John Ilberg's number in the evening and he called back in less than an hour and agreed to come to check out the problem the next day. He checked our panel and found a loose breaker. He rescheduled to come back and do the work the next day. The panel dates back to the building of the house (1965) and is no longer made but he located new circuit breakers to replace the defective and the main breaker which was next to it. He was prompt, courteous, professional, immaculate. And, he saved us a lot of money and recommended much less work than we had been told to have done by another electrician. He explained everything that he was going to do and showed us what he had done.
Description of Work: Replaced the main circuit breaker and an adjacent one that was loose.

 + -1 moreJohn did a good job in the kitchen and he preformed quality work. The second worker was in the attic working on the splitters. A few weeks after they finished the work my apartment traced a fire bell to my attic. It was discovered that they used a two way splitter in the place of a three way splitter. This was a serious fire hazard that should have been avoided. This was not Ilberg's fault; it was another company's fault. The update was excellent. He was here again in 2009 to renovate the lights in my kitchen. He did a wonderful job!
Description of Work: In September of 2008, they did a lot of electrical work. They added a fuse box, several outlets, splitters in the attic and high hats in the dining room. In August of 2009, he came back to work on my kitchen.

I called a number of electrical contractors. John called back the same day and offered to come the same day. I elected to make an appointment for Monday morning. John arrived on time, and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem.
Description of Work: Outlet serving the washing machine became inoperable after it was used to run the heavy load of an air compressor.
