MAD HATTER CHIMNEY SWEEP

Arrived promptly at 8:00 a.m as promised (scheduled day before). Technician was polite, explained what he was doing and explained what did not need to be done; an unscrupulous company could have charged more for unnecessary work. I have had past dealings with Mad hatter and appreciate their demonstrated honesty.

Came on time but dragged the equipment on my new floor. Disappointed because they were good when we used them the year before.

When I first called Mad Hatter, I had to leave a message. However, Bob got back to me immediately, and we set up an appointment date which was to take place within a few days of our telephone conversation. Bob, the owner of the company, arrived at my house as scheduled and on time. He immediately started cleaning the furnace chimney, and then went on to clean out one of the fireplace chimneys. After checking the second fireplace, which is never used, he indicated that it did not need cleaning. Bob is a true professional who is experienced and provides excellent chimney service. He works in an extremely neat and efficient manner. In addition, he explained all aspects of the work that he would be doing on our chimneys to us, and indicated when we should have him back again in the future to clean the chimneys. Bob has workd on our chimneys before. Each time that he has done work on our chimneys, he was always very friendly and very willing to answer all of our questions and address all of our concerns. When Bob makes an assessment of the work to be done, you can truly trust his evaluation of the problem and the work that would be necessary to correct the problem. He is an extremely honest, trustworthy, and thorough chimney contractor. He is not the kind of contractor who would pad a bill or give an incorrect assessment in order to make more work for himself. The prices of the company are very fair, and Bob is always respectful of his customers and their homes, and very sensitive to their concerns. I would recommend this chimney company very highly to family members, friends, and neighbors.

He arrived promptly, completed the cleanings efficiently and explained that I was missing the cap on one of the chimneys - he was able to show me the problem from the ground. He had to order the part and he called me and completed the work as soon as it was in.

The first call I made was very easy and the woman on the phone was very helpful in figuring out what we needed and was able to schedule a convenient time. They confirmed many times and then came when planned. He explained what he might have to do, what we was doing as he needed to go outside or come inside again, and was thorough in his chimney cleaning of both our fireplace and oil burner chimneys. We were very pleased with his cleanliness and efficiency and knowledge.

I had my a wood burning stove/chimney cleaned and the regular oil burner chimney. I called Mad Hatter on wednesday and the owner of the company (Bob) came himself Saturday, three days later. I was very happy, since it can normally take several weeks at the height of the winter to get an appointment. They were on-time, prepared, keep my house clean and very professional. I was very happy with the experience and would recommend them to family, friends, neighbors...

The gentleman arrived on time and went straight to work. The placed a carpet to protect my floors and explained what he was about to do. I have never had a chimney before so he took the time to explain detail what to do and what not to do. He even told me how to start the fire. He even went as far as writing the instructions on the bill. I was extremely satisfied.

The owner Bob came out for a Sunday appointment, which in itself seems pretty rare ( I called a number of other providers who basically laughed when I asked if they had weekend appointments). He cleaned the chimney and was in and out in a half hour, and did it for a what seemed like a reasonable price (i called around and while not the cheapest, wasn't the highest by any stretch) Very nice guy who took the time to answer some of my questions as a first time home owner. Would use him again in the future and reccomend.

I called and made the appointment. The day before, they called to confirm the appointment. Madhatte arrived on time and went to work. I have 2 fireplaces. He swept them both. He explained that one was fairly clean while the other one was use more often and was very dirty. He explained the workings of the flue and ash pit and answered my questions regarding care and maintenance of the fireplaces. He said I need to get them swept about every 50 fires. He was knowledgable and professional. I will use him again next time I need a sweeping.

They were very responsive and professional. The guy who came to the house got right to business and cleaned the chimney which hadn't been done in several years. Then he asked if we wanted the oil burner chimney done which also hadn't been done in several years. He came out covered in soot from head to toe! I was very happy with the service - I hadn't had it done in a few years because I had a bad experience with a company that was a scam. A good professional contractor who offers excellent service for a fair price is great to know.

It was exactly the way I like to do business. I called; I made an appointment (for th chimney sweeping). Bob came on time, did the chimney; cleaned up and charged me a reasonable fee. It was almost better for the gutters, because I did not have to be there, but we did have to wait for it to stop raining. Bob said he'd come as soon as it got dry & he did. He sent me a bill that was reasonable.

We bought our house in June, but had no idea if the chimney had been cleaned. Called Mad Hatter right here at what is no doubt a busy time of the year. The woman on the phone was great at working with me on scheduling a time. Bob came out and looked at the chimney and said right away that we could probably get away with not cleaning it. I told him how much we liked to build fires and asked him to go ahead and clean it. He worked on it and left no mess behind. What I also appreciated is that he said he would contact us in the spring to come check things out so we don't have to wait until the last minute again. Great service, will use again.

Working with Mad Hatter was a wonderful experience. The price was great! They left the house clean and provided advice on care/maintenance of our chimney. I will use them in the future!

I set up the appointment after leaving a message and being called back. They were able to squeeze me in on short notice when I needed it done. The technician showed up 15 minutes early and got started right away. He swept everything out and vacuumed up the soot and leaves etc. It only took him about 25 minutes to complete the job. The only problem was that he walked through my house without covering his dirty boots and tracked dirt onto my light colored carpet. Not a big deal, but I would ask them to wear booties in the future or have them take off shoes. I will use them again in the future.

I am relatively new to the area and needed my chimney cleaned because I use a wood stove all through out the winter. I was worried about being quoted one price and then charged another once the chimney sweep came out. So, since I never used a chimney sweep before, I used Angies List to find someone local who came recommended. When I called up, I left a message. Within the same day, I received a return phone call. I explained what I wanted and what my situation was, with the wood stove. We set a day/time and I was quoted a price which turned out to be the same price that I paid (i.e. there were no surprises or any 'bait-and-switch' games played). On the day of the cleaning, the owner came out, on time, and I showed him around. He spent about a half-hour on the job, made no mess at all, and was very friendly and easy to talk to. We chatted a bit afterwards and he gave me some free advice which I found very helpful. For my first time using a chimney sweep service, I consider myself quite lucky to find the right one the first time!

I called Mad Hatter on Tuesday and they cleaned out my boiler chimney flue on Friday, as they said they would. Punctual, polite, clean. Price was very reasonable for the service performed. I would recommend Mad Hatter (Montrose) and I will use them again.

Mad Hatter is an excellent company! Their responsiveness and professionalism were very impressive. My initial call was returned to me within 24 hours and an appointment was made to meet my schedule. The technician arrived right on time, was polite and very professional, and completed the job perfectly. There was nothing to clean up after he left...it was almost as though he was never there. The entire process took less than half an hour. The chimney sweep arrived, brought in a large vacuum cleaner. We asked him to let us know whether the chimney was okay as well as clean it. We were very satisfied with the work. We decided to have him invoice us later and that process worked well as well.

Called Mad Hatter to have our chimney cleaned and was going to have them do both the fireplace insert and the oil burner flue. Since we're recent purchasers of the home and didn't really know the state it was left in by the previous owners we wanted to clean both, just to be sure. Mad Hatter was super communicative, and accommodating to us even when I forgot the date of our original appointment and had to call to change/correct it when I had scheduled in error. I always quickly got a call back if I didn't speak to someone directly and they were thorough enough to leave messages for me on both the numbers I left them while we briefly played some phone tag. When the gentleman came to do the chimney, he was early, courteous, clean, thorough and patient....couldn't be better. As I mentioned we recently bought the house and I had a lot of questions..... he was willing to let me engage him while he worked to find out more about the chimneys he was cleaning and did a great job, never once getting annoyed by my watching him work. THe amount of creosote that came out of the fireplace chimney was frightening....I'm so glad we called. I can't speak to the price, since I've never had to buy this service before, but based on what I've heard in asking around they are charging the going rate...not the cheapest number I heard, but certainly not the highest. Given the quality and responsiveness, totally worth the average cost. Al-in-all I couldn't be happier and will certainly call Mad Hatter again. I expect to use them annually for my fireplace and every 3-4 years for the Oil burner. Highly recommended.

They were easy to get a hold of and scheduled an appointment quickly. They called 24 hours in advance to remind me of the service. A very polite guy showed up and got right to work. He worked quickly and cleanly. I got exactly what I wanted for the price I was expecting to pay. I would have no trouble recommending them to anyone. Thank you Mad Hatter.

I have used Mad Hatter a number of times over the years to clean out our fireplace chimney. They are consistently prompt, polite, professional, and very neat! Their price is reasonable. I would recommend them.

The cleaner from Mad Hatter Chimney Sweep Company came out quickly. He spent a long time cleaning the chimneys because it hadnt been cleaned for a couple of years. It was very dirty and very sooty so he spent more than the usual time cleaning it. He still charged me the same fee even though he had to move a wood stove to clean the chimney. His fee was very reasonable. He just did a great job. He advised me that my furnace pipe didn’t need cleaning yet. So, he was very honest about what needed to be done. The chimney was very dirty so he had to double clean it. He cleaned up very well afterwards. Everything was very nice. He didn’t charge me anything extra to move the woodden stove. He was very good. I decided to choose Mad Hatter Chimney Sweep Company because they had a good rating and few good reveiws on Angie’s List. Also, they were reasonably close to where I live. I think that’s also important. I would defenitely use this company again in the future.
