He is a nice man, very funny, and does a great job.

Mad Hatter was fast, thorough, neat and tidy. He made some good suggestions on frequency of cleaning and was very professional throughout his visit. I would absolutely hire him again.

They were wonderful. They were very good. I found out that my fireplace didn’t need to be service. They did a good job but there wasn’t really much to do. It’s a good company. They were very, very punctual. I would call them back if I need them.

Bob was fantastic- he was very thorough and honest about the condition of the chimneys- one had to be cleaned while the other one was in good shape. The pricing for the chimney cap was a little more than I expected, but Bob recommended getting a quality product and I trust him. Bob also cleaned my gutters. Excellent. Bob is an honest man. He told me that I didn't need a cleaning. He told me to look for myself. When I looked up the chimney,it was "clear as day(light)". A previous company (who I should name) said I needed a cleaning for $1,200. I'm glad it forced me to seek out Mad Hatter Chimney Sweeps....Bob really cooled my nerves. I will definitely use the company to fit my chimney for a cap in the near future. Hats Off to Mad Hatter!

Bob arrived on time as promised. We were concerned about staining on the outside of the house from the chimney, and he told us what the root of the problem was, but that it was purely cosmetic so he put our minds at ease to spend our money on other home improvements for now. He cleaned oil furnace flue and checked out my brand new never used wood burning fireplace in a house we recently moved to. Technician quickly looked up chimney from inside the house, said he had cleaned over 10 chimney's that day, we were his last appt, and he stated our chimney did not need to be cleaned. We just had our chimney cleaned by a different company this week, April 2014. They were surprised the Mad Hatter technician who came out in Sept 2013 concluded the chimney did not need to be cleaned last Fall due to the amount of creosote build up. We are lucky we did not have any problems (chimney fire) and used our fireplace this winter with a false sense of security, all because the Mad Hatter tech did not feel like cleaning another chimney on the day of his visit. Perhaps other techs at Mad Hatter are more concientious and honest, hopefully the tech who came to our house on 9/21/13 has found a different occupation.

As I hadnt been favorably impressed by prior work by other companies, I checked Angie's List and found this company well reviewed. They were kind enough to come the same day as my request as I was worried we had some smoke from our primary fireplace. Turns out I'd fallen behind in my annual cleanings. They cleaned the 2 chimneys that needed it and told me one did not need cleaning. The price was fair and in line with their estimate and they were quick and very neat.

Cleaned chimney. Very accommodating with scheduling (especially appreciated around the New Year's holiday). Very professional and courteous. Helped to clean up a messy basement left by another company's boiler maintenance person (who left soot everywhere!!).

The technician arrived (slightly early), was polite, and quickly got to work cleaning the fireplace chimney. Put down dust/workcloth to keep area clean. Also patiently answered some questions regarding bees sometimes coming down - no big deal, they like to nest up at the top apparently! Just got in and did the job, only took 30 minutes or so. No ?sales-pitch? or suggestions of additional services, which was a relief. Great to find an good chimneysweep company - this was our first experience with one and I had read it could be difficult.

Called to have 3 chimneys inspected and cleaned. Provider only needed to clean one of the 3 chimneys but inspected. Only charged us for the chimney cleaned. Would definitely use their service again.

Work went smoothly. No mess in the house

I had a great experience with Bob and their services - I appreciate that they'll only charge you for chimneys which need to be cleaned and they do a very thorough job. He cleaned all three chimneys (and inspected the one for a wood burning stove in an out-building which did not need cleaning) and gave me valuable feedback about the state of affairs in our new (to us) house. He advised us on how to clean and maintain the wood burning stove and brought it to my attention that the furnace had not been properly cleaned despite having a tag on it saying that it was serviced - we'll be having a known, reliable furnace guy come in to give it a good once over! Buying an old home is a risky venture, but having reliable people and companies come by to inspect and help maintain things makes a massive difference! Thanks Bob!

It went ok. The price was established on the phone with an office worker. Which I felt was high but I agreed to it. This is the first time we used a professional chimney sweep. He worked quickly and made no mess. He was courteous and answered all the questions we asked. He didn't try to push repairs or anything to increase his bill.

Bob did a very clean job. I could see that he is competent, neat and experienced, in how he handled the work that he perform
