The relationship started off just fine. I wanted the roof replaced as the house was 20 years old at the time. Jason came over and gave me an estimate for the roof and gutters. He took pictures of the roof showing bend singles, and a gasket that was cracked. Jason also said that I would find a couple of nails in the grass after the work was completed, even thought they had a roller that should pick up most of the nails. (I ended up finding well over 50 nails in the grass) Contract was signed in early May. Work did not start till late July due to weather. The first day 3 workers arrived and started removing the old shingles. Please note only one of the workers spoke enough English for me to understand him. All work was completed, and new gutters were installed in less than 3 days. They also were able to paint a spot on the front side of the house which I could not get to. I contacted Jason again about 2 months ago as I noticed there appears to be an opening in the roof which was found when my exterminator was in the attic. To date he has not replied to my Angie's message. In closing: I saw Jason once at the initial review in May. His partner came over the last day to bring over some gutters and to collect the remaining balance owed. Neither one of them did any type of final roof inspection. You would think they would check the work that was done. No one contacted me after the workers left to see if there were any problems or concerns. I never received my Angie's discount.

I mean if you need an inspection and would like me to apply some sealants to any faulty flashings or pipe vent flashings that may need it, we would need the roof to be clear of snow. If your roof has a 20 year shingle on it and is the original roof shingle that was installed when the house was built and you are just looking for an estimate for a new roof and would like to get in our schedule for an early spring roof installation then we do not need the roof to be clear of snow and ice. I can measure the roofs square footage and come up with an estimated cost for roof replacement from the ground. I am an Interior Designer in New York City and have dealt with many contractors over the years. I will tell you that my experience with Jason and his entire crew was among the best. His approach to everything I wanted done was thoughtful and appropriate and his suggestions of ways with which to accomplish what I envisioned contributed to end results. I found his crew to be organized, efficient, extremely neat, considerate and polite. There was an overall air of utter professionalism throughout the two week period they were working on the house and at every level. The attention to detail abounds in everything from the finish details on the framing on the windows and skylights to the removal of all tell tale signs of it ever being a construction site. There were a few things that needed tweaking and these were handled immediately and without controversy. It was such a positive and pleasant experience that I am already working on a list of additional areas that need future work.

Once we were finally able to establish a date for the work, EE completed the work within the timeframe they said they would. The house had recently undergone some renovations (painting and new stone work on walkway and steps) and they were careful to make sure nothing was damaged. They also cleaned up afterwards. My problem has been getting them to send a copy of the warranty they promised. I've made repeated phone calls with no response and we are now considering getting an attorney involved. We would have provided a higher overall rating but for this issue. It's also the reason why we answered "no" to the question of using them again. One of the reasons we chose EE was for the warranty and the fact that it could be transferred to a subsequent buyer in the event of a sale. I'm at a loss trying to understand why dropping a piece of paper into the mail should be so difficult

Provider went up to roof by himself and came down with pictures of damage that needed to be fixed. I asked if $99.00 coupon could be applied to work estimate, he said no. Asked for proposal with copies of pictures. Never heard from him again. Don't believe I got $99.00 worth of service. Recently, went onto roof myself with another provider. I am not an expert and I never got copies of the original pictures but to my best memory, I did not see first hand the damage that was shown to me in the pictures. To me this is a serious accusation and I hope I am wrong, but I would like to see the original pictures taken.

The service turned out perfectly. He has set-up what he was supposed to set-up. He was a very nice gentleman and did what he was supposed to do. I was very satisfied with it. There were no additional charges on top of the $99 Big Deal. He came out at least several months after I purchased the Big Deal because it was a roof inspection and we had snow in the roof. We live in the Northeast. My main like was that he seemed to be a very nice guy and very helpful. The price was fine. He was right on-time. I would possibly use them again in the future if I needed work done on the roof.

I called them to get a second opinion because a different contractor had implied that we might need roof replacement. Explicit Exteriors was honest about the condition of the roof and mentioned that it did not need any work. Very courteous and professional as well.

They did a great job. They weren't able to fix a leak in my roof for me, but they slowed it down. It didn't last very long and started leaking again. They were good at cleaning up. He's a very good guy. He sent two guys out who were very nice.

My roof turned out amazing!!! I really struggled to find anyone in Sullivan County or nearby that would do the job. Depressing how many lazy people there are in this county. Jason and his team did an incredible job and the quality is absolute AAA++++. Jason was incredibly responsive through the process. We had been having two occasional leaks occur in the ceiling on the ground floor whenever we have very windy rain storms. This was something that really needed to be addressed so I purchased a roof maintenance service from Explicit Exteriors on Angie's. We set up the appointment for a Wednesday between 11 am and 12 noon, but Jason, the president of the company, called to say he was going to be a bit late. No problem since we were home for the day. When Jason arrived, he knew what it was right away after we showed him the ceiling, and asked to get into the attic first. Following the path of the water coming in at two areas on the roof at the vent pipes, he pulled away the insulation and cleaned up some mold in the attic due to the leaks. He then went onto the roof to seal both trouble spots around the vent pipes, also alerting us to additional areas of concern. He did a big favor by reattaching a chimney cap that had previously come off due to inclement weather recently. We had a great conversation about the work his company does, viewing pictures and discussing a possible revamping of our front facade. We liked his professionalism and knowledge, and will definitely be calling him for future projects.

The provider come home on the date as promised and inspected the roof and called me to inform that the roof was all right, and needed some minor sealing, which he had taken care of.

It all worked out just fine and the service and everything was outstanding.

It went beautifully, they were great.

I still have a collapsed ceiling four new doors ordered with no way to pick them up and I am out of $1500. I should not have to chase after the service after I graciously paid it up front. I will never use AngieS List again. This isn't the first time a contractor did not show up.

We initally had to reschedule our appt because of weather. So we rescheduled for 1/20. I got an email on 1/13 stating that Jason had come out to my home because he was in the neighborhood and did the work. He stated he tarred some areas and completed the inspection while I was not home. I had a specific area I wanted him to look at but because I was not there, it was not looked at thoroughly. I am disappointed in Angie's List for allowing the company to show up when they didn't have an appointment and not even have me sign an invoice.

It turned out reasonably well. The big deal price was $6495 for a new roof. It actually cost a great deal more for two reasons. First, they claimed that the roof was larger than the offer limit. I had also some gutter replacement work done/fascia board replaced. There was another $7600. They did work very fast; no question about that. They were decent, professional people. I was less than happy about the extra money. In the end, it took three days of work which seemed to be reasonable. They kept very busy while they were here. They ran out of time at the end and left some downspout for the gutter lying at the center of the house. They either should have carted it away or told me about it and told me where to put it. Some of that were full days; it gets darker early in December. There was a question of whether they were going to come back for another day or two. They finished work at dusk and left. It was a good job, but it wasn’t a spectacularly wonderful job. I would consider using them again in the future, but I would shop around more than I did.

He was very nice. There was no additional charge. There was a just a little place where he had to fill in something. He did that without charging me extra. He was professional. It was a good experience. I would recommend him. He seemed honest and did good work.

Jason arrived on time and was very professional. Performed a detailed inspection of roof and took pictures of problem areas as well. He explained in detail what the issues were and what I especially appreciated was the fact that he alerted me to potential problems and how much the estimate would change if these potential problems were real. He wouldn't know for sure until the shingles were actually removed but knowing there is a possibility beforehand eliminates surprises. Our intention is to proceed with the work

Jason is a very professional and nice guy. I would certainly contact him when its time to install a new roof and have him submit a bid. I just want to make this perfectly clear. but..... this $99 deal is very misleading. Basically, he was suppose to come over and inspect my roof and then do some light touch ups if needed. In no way was I expecting anything more. After getting ahold of him after a week, he mentioned to me the that if my roof wasn't walkable( quite honestly I thought most weren't), he would have to bring another guy and the price would go up to a minimum of $349. Also, no touch up work would be performed because he would make no money out of it. I was very confused as if he was just looking to make a decent profit on this deal and not market himself to future customers, he shouldn't have signed up for it in the first place. I was not about to pay $349 just to get a roof estimate. So he agreed to come over and honor the $99. Anyway, he came over and met with my wife and inspected the roof. He told her we needed a new one right now and kind of put the hard sell. My wife found him to very knowledgable and professional. Bottom line, I should have contacted the vendor before accepting the deal. Its what I normally do and its smart business.

It went incredibly well. The work was all completed in less than 5 weeks. These guys are very talented and professional. They really care about getting it done right. We will definitely ask them to do some more work on our house.

Thorough, professional, courteous, candid, quality oriented are a few adjectives I can use to describe Explicit Exteriors and Jason (company President). Jason came to my house for an assessment of my roof and was very upfront of what the job entailed and what additional costs I would incur due to the size of my roof. Due to design (steep sloped Cap Cod) and additional square footage (300 sq ft) I had to pay extra. Needless to say, I was not very excited about that however, the job needed to get done and it was still a deal versus the competition, which made it easier to swallow. Scheduling the work was quick and the materials used were grade A. The team showed up to my house bright and early on Friday morning and worked through Saturday evening, and even came back Sunday morning to finish cleanup and trimming. They did an incredible job and my roof looks spectacular! Based on this experience, I will be using Explicit Exteriors for any home improvement projects I have in the future, and highly recommend them to anyone.

Owner was very nice unfortunately not in my service area.

He came by and spoke with me about some things that needed to be done. Nice person, he was very straight forward and took a lot of time to explain things in case I had questions. He also sealed an area around one of the vents that occasionally leaked. He was quick and efficient.

I met Jason through Angie's List. It was very comfortable to talking to him. Jason was very helpful with my situation. I had to have a new roof before the month was over for insurance purposes. His company had the new roof finished in 2 days. While I was at work, he sent pictures via text messages to show the condition of the roof. I was very happy he did that. He also suggest the color of the shingles for the roof and it came out beautiful. I love my new roof. He showed professionalism , very easy to work with and very reliable. Highly recommended!!!

I met Jason of Explicit Exteriors after purchasing the Roof Tune Up and Inspection via Angie's List. After the tune up, he took the time to educate me about the roof type and detailed the current state. I knew that a replacement was probably imminent, and Jason confirmed. I requested a quote from him and another provider. Because of his attentiveness to detail, financing options and a competitive quote, I hired Explicit Exteriors to complete the replacement. He scheduled the work in the promised time frame, was considerate in working with me on color choice when I changed my mind at the last minute. His crew arrived early on the appointed day and completed the roof in one day. They were careful to cart out all debris and clean up after the job. When Jason dropped by to complete some final paperwork, he very kindly tidied up some gutter issues I had that were completely above and beyond the scope of the contract. He and his team were very thorough and I'm very happy with the project.
