Trapper John

Trapper John installed cameras around the house to spot the behavior of the Northern Flying squirrels at night in order to find their entrance to the house. Two days after, the whole under the roof was spotted by analyzing each picture taken by all cameras. Trapper John installed the trap at the whole that squirrels were able to go out of the house, but not to go in. In three days I didn't hear any squirrels activities in the house, where it was very obvious to hear them especially at night. It was a great pleasure to deal with the professional, like Trapper John, who knew what he was looking for and solved the problem in a very surprising to me, short period of time. My family and I suffered with this squirrels' issue for about five years. I would definitely highly recommend Trapper John, who has the right approach and confidence in what his specialty is. John is wonderful. He came over to begin the work and scheduled follow up visits for the next 10 days. It took a little longer to get the Mama to leave with her babies. But they did leave. John is pleasant and extremely competent. The entrance-way that the Mama used is now covered up by John.

Trapper Jon came to the house and diagnosed the condition of our rodent problem. after determining the best method for removal, he then made an appointment to come back to the house for extraction. the house was relieved of the rodent problem within 1 week. He was very kind and reasonable about the whole experience.

He had the right tools and supplies to do the job quickly.

He was very helpful, not just interested in collecting money. We were on the phone for nearly 40 minutes. He gave me lots of advice for how to remedy my problem. He is a real credit to the business world.

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first. John is like a rodent whisperer. He knows everything about how they operate and simply tries to make their home uninviting and then locks them out. He's a unique guy and that's what we liked about him. Everyone else that came to give us quotes suggested putting traps on the roof and then charging us per squirrel caught. Given that we live in a neighborhood with lots of squirrels, I could see this adding up pretty fast and not necessarily catching the squirrel living in our house. John's knowledge and approach were a complete 180 from the other guys. He worked his magic and presto, the squirrels were gone. We've been squirrel free all winter (for about 5 months now).

I called John, and he came to my house the next day. He inspected the roof and checked for openings and told me what had to be done. He was very knowledgeable. He removed the raccoon and sealed all openings. He encouraged questions and was very pleasant. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Essentially the evaluation did give me a sense of what was going on with the squirrels that my tenant could hear burrowing in the ceiling. My tenant had seen squirrels running along the window ledge and was hearing their noise through her ceiling so I asked Trapper John to come over and evaluate the problem and tell me what it would cost to get rid of the squirrels. Once he saw the damage done by the squirrels he told me it would cost $1400 (!!!) to remove the squirrels. I told him "no thank you". $1400 to remove a couple of squirrels and patch a couple of holes. Please?! I was able to hire another pest removal service (Empire Pest Control charged me less than $200 to trap the squirrels (it took 3 - 4 visits at $30/visit). They placed a wire cage on the roof, then returned the following day to remove the cage. The initial payment was $70 and each subsequent visit was $30. Voila! In 7 days, all the squirrels were removed. I hired my regular repair man to seal up the holes (he stuffed steel mesh wire into each hole, added tar and cemented the holes so the squirrels couldn't gnaw their way back in). I thought Trapper John's pricing was ridiculously high! He either had more work than he could handle and was trying to discourage me from hiring him or he didn't want to do the work for me (i.e., didn't like the neighborhood, or something). Anyway, I will never use him or recommend him to another customer.

I spoke with John on the phone and he informed me that he doesn't deal with my issue. I saw a mouse in the house and I wanted to know where they were coming from. He informed that that's more of a pest control issue and not a wildlife removal issue. He was very nice, though.

We can't thank Trapper John enough - he took great care of us, was super helpful, above and beyond. He was always reachable, and was professional.

John performed a comprehesive evaluation and took extra care with my concerns that a raccoon might have been or was in my attic by virtue of the fact that the gable vents were bent. He "reset" the vents to normal and told me to call him with any updates...Unfortunately for me, one of the vents were bent again and John made an appointment for the next morning to re-visit the situation. That day, he completely reinforced the "good" untouched vent and afixed some special screening to the "entry" vent with an escape "hatch." Since I was scheduled for a new roof the next day, John thought the if the critter was still there, the racket between him the last few days and the roofers would definately scare him off. John showed up, while my roofers were there. Content the critter was not in the attic, he quickly sealed the vent as he did the other, with special screening.He also installed a barrier under the new attic fans that were being installed by the roofers. The roofers were very cooperative and when all was said and done I have a critter proof house and a new roof!!! Very pleased with John. He was a great guy and not a pushy "salesman", was true to his word and drove back and forth to LI three times. Would definately recommend him to anyone that thinks they may have a critter crawling around. The peace of mind was worth every penny!

I am pleased with the professionalism, the caring, and the way in which John conducts business. I would certainly use his services again, in the future, should they be required - and would highly recommend him to others.

John is knowledgeable, thorough, and happy to answer every single question we had. We had heard and seen raccoons who had ripped off a piece of the roof's soffit. John explained how raccoons think and react, and determined that no raccoons were home when he inspected. He fixed the soffit and came back a few days later to address some vulnerabilities elsewhere on the roof. He gave us a two year warranty. It's been weeks since he was here and we have not heard or seen raccoons. Phew! I would highly recommend John to anyone with a raccoon problem.

The Deal was for an inspection when I didn't actually need an inspection -- I already knew what my issue was. I just wanted him to come out for a consultation. He did give me helpful advice and information about how to handle my squirrels and raccoons, as well as a quote. He offered a refund but I was happy to pay for the helpful information he gave me. He worked with me on scheduling and was very responsive. I would use him again if needed.

It turned out fine. He came out and he was nice, informative, personable and was definitely comprehensive. He spent an adequate about of time up on the roof and did a thorough job. After he came out I never even heard the animal noises again.

Over the recent horrible winter, the gutter on the back of my house ripped off under the strain of ice. I had it repaired n the spring, but I began to see bits of insulation on the ground below, which I understood was a sign that squirrels were nesting in my attic. I had learned this when Trapper John first trapped, removed and blocked the evil little beasts from the front of my house. I assumed the gutter events had opened up new entry ways for them. He came out this second time and although there were not squirrels back in the attic, (the insulation issue, although ended, is still a mystery) he blocked off the back, thus insuring that they will not get in there for the foreseeable future. There was a squirrel nest in an outcropping on the outside wall of the house, and he humanely removed them, got rid of the nest and blocked that area as well. He was extremely professional and personable, he was clearly knowledgeable and he was very very nice. He extended the warranty on the earlier work to the front of the house to the end date of the current warranty for this new work on the back of the house. To be clear: I live in a row house so the sides of the house are not an issue. I highly recommend Trapper John!

John was cordial and informative.

Within 24 hours of my call, I received a home visit and roof inspection. Two small entry points to the attic were located near the roof gutters. Trapper John placed a device over the entry points that allowed the raccoon to exit, but not re-enter, the attic. Approximately a week later, Trapper John returned to permanently seal the small holes that the rodent had used to enter the attic. From October 2013 until the present (mid-June 2014) the raccoon has not returned. I've had no problems with any other rodents entering the attic over the long winter. Trapper John even trimmed my backyard tree branches that were touching the roof of my house, allowing raccoons and squirrels access to the roof. The work came with a one-year guarantee against rodent re-entry. I was extremely satisfied with the outcome and would recommend Trapper John to anyone in the NYC area with a similar problem.

It was fine and they resolved the issue. They got the job done in a couple of days. The scheduling was fine.

Trapper John answered our call promptly and was able to shift around his schedule to accommodate coming to take a look at our "squirrel" in the attic issue! He climbed up on our rook to inspect (in pouring rain, at night!) - just to give us some information on how the squirrels were getting in. While he was up there, he also cleared up our gutters, nailed in a few loose nails, and fashioned a plastic bag over a small hole in our roof to prevent anymorewater getting in. Truly went above and beyond. ALSO, when he realized there were no squirrel babies in the nest, he said he didn't have to install a trap and come back to inspect every few days - and he charged us less than half what he originally quoted!!! HE WAS FABULOUS! And REALLY knowledgeable about ALL kinds of wildlife and gave us tips on how to avoid other issues.

He told me I would have to wait for the birds in my wall to get big enough to fly out, then he could assist me.

John made several visits and kept at it until all the squirrels were gone. He uses and effective and humane strategy for dealing with these creatures.
