Description of Work: I had to call several times before someone answered and told me they didn't go into Manhattan. But they didn't call me back.

Description of Work: They responded promptly to my plumbing emergency. The pipe causing the flooding was repaired quickly.

Description of Work: Unified main releasing inches of standing water. Then recognized deficiency in French drain connections and gave recommendation to stave off future problems.

Description of Work: First impressions: Guys arrived on time and were polite, friendly and professional | |What we wanted: This was our first time having the boiler looked at in the three years that we've owned the house. The boiler had previously had a water feeder installed, but it was dead and not wired in when we moved in. We kept an eye on the water level in the sight glass, and topped it up manually whenever it needed water. However, during the winter the sight glass became blocked, so the only way we would know to add water would be if the heating didn't work... To cut a long story short, we needed a safety check to make sure everything was ok, we needed a new automatic water feeder, and we needed the sight glass to be fixed. | |What they did: As the guys were working on the boiler my husband hovered, watching what they were doing, and asking questions - not to make sure they did what was requested, but for his education. He wanted to learn more about this mysterious boiler thing. They had no problem with him watching, and were more than happy to answer his many questions. They didn't try to push any extra services on us, and they explained to our satisfaction why expensive services suggested by other companies were not necessary. While one guy was working on installing the water feeder and unblocking the sight-glass, the other was busy flushing out the boiler and cleaning a load of dust from underneath. Once everything was done, they made sure to check that everything was working properly, cleaned up after themselves, and presented us with a bill that was less than we had expected. | |We will definitely use Big Apple again for annual boiler services and any other heating/plumbing work that needs doing. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: Fixed baseboard heating unit, unclogged bathroom sink and changed a number of heating valves.

Description of Work: They responded quickly, found the problem and tried to correct it but the part was beyond saving so they immediately went out and purchased a new part and installed it. PROBLEM SOVED.
