I am not happy. I have payed them and they have not kept me updated on permits and progress. I checked with the city and the permits have been approved and they have not fixed the pipes. They have not been responding to my messages and the permits are going to expire. I picked them because of their price, but am beginning to regret that. If they do not get it fixed soon, I may get fined by the city!

Great! The two plumbers that came, Louis and Ken, were wonderful. I was so impressed! They handled everything so professionally and were so kind to work with. Off the chart interpersonal skills. I am so happy with how they handled everything and I would highly recommend them to others.

We had an OUTSTANDING experience with Ken and Carol Cavaliere from Big Apple Plumbing. Each time I called an actual person affiliated with the company would answer the phone unlike other companies where you need to leave a message and await a return call. I called on a Monday regarding having 2 broken washing machines disconnected, new washing machine installed, new washing machine drain pipe and new slop sink installed. For us, timing was very important since we were coordinating the disconnection, delivery of new and then a return trip for the installation. Big Apple was so accommodating and made themselves available in our ideal window on Wednesday. They provided us a 2 hour window and they arrived promptly. Unfortunately our new washing machine did not arrive on our schedule and they adjusted our appointments. Their prices were extremely reasonable, the quality of work was outstanding, they removed all garbage, and completely cleaned up before they left. This morning we have a clogged sink and Carol answered the phone and put us on the schedule. They are my kind of plumber!

I had a leaky Water heater and I called on a Friday and Carol returned my call on Saturday. The heater was 20 plus years old so needed to be replace and the leak was getting worse and Carol understood the need to get it done quickly. An appointment was set for Tuesday and the job was done and the area kept clean and neat, all at a fair price. While they were there I asked them to look into the problem of no heat and they diagnosed a faulty burner, that two was old, more than 20 years. So they again set an appointment for the following week to do the replacement. Ken and his team did this once again in a very professional way, Cleaned up after themselves and left the area cleaner than when they started, it was raining out, so they put down a piece of old carpet that they brought with them to wipe there feet as they went in and out. They were all very professional, and again I believe the cost was very fair. I would not hesitate to call them again.

I can tell Ken, the owner, is very skilled in his craft and is very methodical. He and his crew of two other associates performed a quality installation from beginning to end. They arrived on time, were professional, performed the installation with precision, hauled away the old water heater, and cleaned up after themselves. Given the extremely tight space that they had to work with in the boiler room of our basement, Ken and his crew were very cognizant, worked carefully, and were unphased by the challenge.

As a former property manager, I've had experience dealing with many vendors. The water heater replacement job that Big Apple did was excellent. I can tell Ken is very knowledgeable in his craft. Ken and his crew arrived on time, were professional, and performed a high quality job, and cleaned up after themselves. Given that the amount of space they had to work with was very tight, they still were very cognizant, careful, and performed the job in a very timely manner. I would definitely hire them again.

Ken and his team were quick to get the work done. They helped navigate the ConEd nightmare of getting everything permitted and the work completed the right way. The team was quick to get the work done and organized oil tank and boiler removal. Will use again in future.

Big Apple Plumbing was so great. They were responsive, on time, communicative, and went beyond the call of service. My building is an older building in a co-op. They helped me navigate whatever weirdness I might encounter with the management company (which wasn't much, but since this was my first time getting work done in the building, it was great that they helped me out with it) and then were super responsive about the needs from the mgt company. Carol was awesome - I could always count on her follow-up. They were honest about what they could or could not. They came when they said they could and were willing to work with my schedule as much as possible. Really great company. And the work was awesome - they came in and fixed my faucet in the bathroom and even replaced the valves since they were old and not working well - which made the job more complicated, bu they did it without complaint. Ken Jr. was really nice and cool and helpful and they were just great. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

This was my second time using them. The work done is of a high quality. They came on time and followed up with me as the work progressed. I was happy with their work overall. However both times they left garbage in my front yard which I found quite annoying actually. That is why in my grading I gave both A and B grades.

Second time I used Bug Apple. I was super impressed by the professionalism and skill level of the team. Glad to have the experience repeat where the team arrived on time, quickly identified the issues, educated me on the repair, and worked quickly to reset the toilet. Ken is a fantastic master plumber. I feel comfortable that their pricing is fair. I received good value and skill for the money. One other important item that is easily overlooked is how well they clean up during and after the job. The result was a spot clean toilet with a proper seal. A++ ... Big Apple is now my go to team for plumbing. They will get the my first call every time.

All of the folks from Big Apple Plumbing are very professional, efficient, courteous and honest. They dealt with the utility company when necessary and performed all of the work better than I had expected. Their pricing is more than fair (actually better than another quote I had) and always felt that they cared about us as much as getting the job done properly. We called for a water leak. Ken and his team arrived and quickly diagnosed exactly what the situation was. He explained that our basement shower pipe had frozen up and cracked and that's where the leak was coming from. The end cap near the shower valve had come off which was why our shower wasn't working correctly. The leak was fixed in a matter of minutes and he said they'll come back once the new valve arrives to finish the work on the shower. I'm very happy with the work so far. Will definitely hire again if the need arises.

The team at Big Apple is extremely professional and reliable. They’ve completed every job in a timely fashion and have proven to be experts of their trade.

We had a leaky drain pipe under the kitchen sink. I left a voicemail overnight and Carol called back at 8am with a 9-12 window on the same day on a Thursday, which we were very thankful for. Frankie and his helper Michael showed up around 11 and they got right to work. The pipe was so old that it disintegrated upon the lightest tap of a wrench. The geometry made the new pipe a challenging fit, and Frankie kept on trying upwards to an hour until he found the right spot. Meanwhile, Michael also tightened the flushometer toilet which had occasional drips and told me a replacement was not necessary. Later in the evening we discovered while washing a pot that when a large amount of water goes down the pipe would still leak very tiny drops, but only after a time delay, which explained why we didn't notice it the first time. I left a voicemail late at night and Carol called back again the next morning at 8am and offered a 10-2 window. At 10:15, Frankie and Michael came back with Ken Jr., who I think is the owner. Ken was patient enough to wait until I could replicate the tiny leak, and wasted no time to diagnose the problem. The culprit was the old basket strainer. Ken replaced the entire assembly, no charge. It was not an easy job as removing the old components required some heavy sawing and hammering. Both times, I put rags and newspaper in the area and the crew instinctively used them to cover the floor and wipe down spills. I was surprised how little clean up I needed to do after all this noisy, messy work. Ken explained aloud each step as he made the diagnosis, evaluated possible solutions, and carried out each task. I realized that the technical language was primarily for passing down knowledge and experience to his crew, but, coming from a family of teachers, I appreciate this educational aspect of Ken's work, and it was comforting for me to know what was in his mind as he worked.

Stop searching and hire Big Apple right now!!! From my very first meeting with Ken Jr. I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Having an engineering background and done my homework, I made it clear I needed specifics to be comfortable with the job being proposed. Ken didn't hold back. Ken was knowledgeable about the regulations, constraints with my current set-up, and possible issues with my proposed solution. He listened to my concerns and offered solutions best suited to the project, explaining both pros and cons. As the work required approval from the Dept. of Buildigs, Big Apple also set me up with an electric hot water heater (at no cost to me) so I wouldn't have to go the winter without hot water. Once DoB approval was secured, Big Apple worked with my schedule and was able to expedite the work, so I could have heat in half of the house after 2 days, with the rest following shortly thereafter. Minimal surprises were encountered, each time handled with care and with consultation to me before proceeding, to ensure both parties were fully informed and in agreement with the work being performed. Ken and his crew were extremely respectful while on-site. They made smaller incisions than I expected and cleaned up better than any professional I've worked with. When it came time for the inspection, they again worked with my schedule and handled everything, so I didn't even need to meet the inspector. My only word of caution would be with Carol, the office manager. She's very busy and not always proactive in returning calls, so just plan to follow-up. But once you get Ken Sr. or Ken Jr. on the line, everything is right with the world. These guys are the real deal. I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone with plumbing or heating needs.

had a lot of back-and-forth to schedule the appointment, but all went well after that. would definitely recommend them. just wish they offered emergency plumbing services.

The job was done well and I am completely satisfied. I got a same day appointment and the team arrived well within the promised arrival time range. The job was quickly and neatly completed. Ken and his assistant were both very pleasant to deal with.

Great!! Turned out it was the coop’s responsibility to deal with the pipes in the walls. Alex was wonderful, he patiently and clearly explained what to problems were and how they must be dealt with. Alex from Big Apple is the ONLY plumber I’ll call. Ever.
