Called because water in boiler too high and heat not coming up. At first was told they would be out first thing next morning,but called about 10 minutes later and said they could be at house in 1/2 hour as they just finished another job. Ken Jr and John came within in 1/2 hr and Ken told me drain valve clogged and he cleared valve and cleaned burners and boiler. Ken Jr checked out after he was done and everything OK.

Job took 2 days total. First day Chris Gambino of Every Pound Counts Inc. and two of his men came for the removal.of the old units and oil tank. I had covered a good amount of area myself , but they covered more of floor and some walls to protect against damage and dirt. They were careful and efficient. 2nd day Big Apple Plumbing father and son and another man came to install the new gas boiler and hot water heater. They worked quickly and the job was completed nicely.

I've actually had Ken here three times now and I'm really happy with the work they've done. Great communication with Carol in the office too. First they fixed our furnace. Then I had them instal ducting for a dryer. Then they replaced a cracked pipe and flushed our drains which were creating a lake in our basement. They also snaked a slow drain in our tenant's apartment. When I had a question about whether or not that was working any better they came first thing the next day and had another look at it. I'm really impressed with these guys having been screwed around by other plumbers for weeks. I gave them a B for punctuality because they did miss one of our appointment windows. But the reschedule went fine. Definitely use them again.

I called at 7:50 am. A wonderful woman answered, she was so pleasant and heplful The guys came in no time at all. Diagnosed and fixed the problem. Lifted huge radiators like they were feathers. Took care of an additional crack encountered. These guys love what they do. It truly shows They are my plumbers permanently for every house I own.

First called at about 10:15 am. Ken Jr. and Joe arrived by about 1pm and were done by about 3pm. They worked quickly and neatly, and made efforts to keep the area clean. Final cost was what was initially quoted. No complaints.

We have been trying to convert from oil to gas for almost 10 years. We have not been able to find someone we felt comfortable with. National Grid sent us a solicitation for the conversion. they recommended several plumbers. we met with three including big apple. we went with big apple not just for price but for the level of comfort that we felt from the first moment we met with Ken. These guys are highly experienced and skilled. Took them 2 days to complete the conversion and discard the oil tank. They were courteous, respectful and neat. They treated our home with genuine care. as an added bonus and for just a few dollars they connected our baseboard heat in the basement. The old contractor left us hanging years ago. I recommend them and would use them again.

Our old warhorse of a gas boiler was declared unusable (and a possible carbon monoxide risk) just as the weather was starting to get cold. Additionally, our water heater was overdue for replacement. As we have two very elderly people in the house, a quick job was essential. The folks from Big Apple came over and gave us an estimate the same day we called, and actually began work a few days before the earliest projected start date we were given. Kenny and his crew were friendly thorough, and clearly answered any and all questions. Installation and cleanup was done in a little over a day, all is working beautifully, and since we got Energy Star equipment that's far more efficient than the old units they replaced, we stand to save money on our heating bill, as well as qualifying for a rebate and tax credits. Could not be happier with the work!

During the process a leak was discovered in one of the old pipes and they repaired it without adding to the total cost of the job. New pipes were laid in the basement and 1st floor apartment. Kenny and his men did everything in a professional manner. They came on time prepared to do a major job and did it well. The piping work is beautiful. We are very pleased with the work. We highly recommend Apple Plumbing to anyone who needs a plumber with a "can do" spirit.

Excellent. I first contacted Big Apple for an estimate along with Karl Plumbing, Sideris, Sears, Hepco and Village. Ken Jr. came over and gave me an estimate for the removal of the old boiler from about 1910 and to install a new boiler. He was on time and very courteous. He explained the entire job and mentioned the rebate that Con Ed is offering. After carefully reviewing all the estimates we decided to go with Big Apple. Their price was lower than the other companies we considered which ranged from $6,800. to $12,000 and we liked the professionalism of Ken Jr. I called Ken Jr. and told him we would like to schedule the work. He came over and measured each radiator in the house and set a date to do the work. We gave him a small deposit check and signed a contract. On Oct. 10th Ken Jr and Ken Sr came and removed the old boiler and installed a new Crown BSI 135 boiler. I wanted the boiler positioned closer to our chimney which was no problem for them. They did a great job and took care not to damage our basement floor or steps. I feel they went over and above a standard installation and took care of little details that others would have ignored. My husband was very impressed with their work ethic and skill. I would definately use them again and recommend them without hesitation.

Ken jr did an outstanding job. He removed and installed a new steam boiler and water heater in basement. He arrived as promised and did not stop until the entire project was completed. He took precautions before he started to insure the entire area was kept clean going as far as using a carpet runner on the walkway leading into the basement The finish job was perfect and you can tell he takes pride in his work. He explained all the details of the new equipment before he left and the entire area was left spotless

I found Big Apple Plumbing & Heating to be a professional company that takes pride in their company. When I called Big Apple Plumbing & Heating (from Middle Village) it was one of four estimates that I received. Their price was in the mid range of the four prices, but what sold me was the professional demeanor of Ken Jr. & Angel when they arrived, on time, to give me the estimate. Ken Jr. explained in detail what they were going to do & how long it was going to take. On the first day of the job I met Ken Sr. & realized where Ken Jr. got his professionalism from. They placed covering on the floor and, considering it is a very messy job, left the basement, boiler room & oil tank area neat & clean. They finished the job on time and even did a side job of snaking out a kitchen drain pipe that was acting up. I am a very fussy consumer who wants what I pay for & feel that I got more than what I paid for with Big Apple Plumbing & Heating. I will definitely call them for all my future heating & plumbing issues in the future & have already recommended Big Apple Plumbing & Heating to my friends.

We had an emergency in our bathroom and we used them. It is a family run company. They were very pricey, but they were thorough and good. The thing we did not like about them was the price, we thought that they could have charged a lot less. My husband thinks that if we had done it before Sandy hit we probably would have paid less, but the problem is when you have plumbing done in the house you do not look for somebody who is cheap you want somebody who is thorough and does a good job and unfortunately they do not go hand in hand a lot of times. They were very nice. They did not take breaks. They were just basically three guys. It is a father and son business. They were very thorough and they knew what they were doing. They would let us know if they were running late, that was good. They were very professional.

Great my house is old so plumbing is also old and needs special care I have been using big apple for over 35 years and always receive the same standard of service over three generations of plumbers. Not only are they professional and knowledgable but they also have others working with them who have the same level of professionalism.

We had a leak and couldn't figure out the issue so we called Big Apple. They were on vacation when I contacted them but responded promptly with help and scheduled the first appointment they had the morning they returned. Ken, Jr. and Angel came during the first half of the 1-hour window. They were extremely nice, professional and thorough. Once we determined that it was not a plumbing issue, Jr. and Angel continued to see if they could figure out the exact source of the leak by inspecting the roof and helping us pinpoint exactly where it was. Although we did not need them for a plumbing issue this time, we will be sure to call them in the future.

Big Apple were very professional from the moment I met them...they gave me a fair estimate on what the total job would cost and the duration of time and days. The were knowledgeable about what they were doing and gave me the confidence that I didn't have to there every minute to ensure that progress was being made on the job. I was further impressed with how they dealt with my neighbors, very polite and respectful and communicates very well about the process that was going on. Also, it is worth noting that every didn't go totally according to plan, it's an old house with terrible water pipes that prior plumbers totally botched connections on. Big Apple stayed longer and worked on fixing the leaks that came up about 4/5 that had nothing to do with their work, I was very grateful for their patience and willingness to leave me with no headaches. Big Apple also identified another issue with a bathroom toilet one the first floor level, that would have progressively gotten worst if left unattended. It is because of how they dealt with me thorough the first job that I immediate hired for the second project that got fixed two days later. I have nothing but great reviews for this company. I would recommend an use them again, no questions. Two thumps up!

Ken Jr, and Angel showed up early and got to the heart of the issue and ran the proposed repair past me. I concurred. The tenant had not maintained the home and the working conditions for the plumbers were not good. Nevertheless they were not deterred and performed the repair to my complete satisfaction at a very reasonable cost. Further they both were very personable and courteous and it was a pleasure to do business with them and the company which is owned by Ken, Sr.

They two man crew arrived exactly at the time of the appointment. The upstairs drains took longer than they expected but the job was completed to my satisfaction. The downstairs sink and toilet where expertly cleared. The toilet now flushes the way it should. They flushed the toilet at least 6 times to make sure the job was good.The price was more than the job that was done as per the estimate, but since the upstairs job took so much time we figured it was worth it. I definetely will clarify the work to be done next time on the phone with the price breakdown for each item.Overall it was a positive experience.
