Description of Work: Power replaced our roof, facia, flashing and gutters. Service was excellent and did a great job. The roof replacement was done in one day, and gutters were replaced the following day. We would definitely do business with Power again in the future.

We never want a customer walking away from their first impression with the company feeling as you do and we understand your concern about the discrepancy in price for the quotes you received. However, in our 24 years of business and with over 275,000 installations completed, we've never positioned ourselves as the cheapest option - but we've always delivered one of the best experiences in the industry. We believe that $8,000, $10,000, $12,000 are all significant amounts of money. But for the scope of the work you requested, installing a project for that price is going to leave you dissatisfied with the quality of the product and the level of service and communication received. We've seen this exact scenario play out hundreds of times. Due to the significant amount of the project, the homeowners are forced to keep the inferior product - often times incorrectly installed - which often times results in a very expensive learning experience. On the day of the appointment, I received a phone call from the rep who without identifying himself, stated "I just want to check to see if tonight is still good?". I asked who was calling and he then identified himself. The representative was prompt however, once inside my home his behavior was erratic. He was sweating profusely despite the fact that my A/C was on 67, came without a pen or a tape measure and asked for my assistance in measuring the roof. Highly unprofessional behavior. He made a statement about not playing games with the homeowner and became irritable when I replied that a "first visit discount" was very much a game. The appointment was for 7:30 pm and I was told by the person who called the day before that the rep would give me an estimate and be on his way, which would take about 30 minutes. At 8:15, I still did not have my estimate and was becoming uncomfortable with the rep and his behavior. He asked to get into my attic (which is in my bedroom) and I said no, I was not comfortable with that. At 8:15, I began telling the rep that I needed to end the appointment. He became irritable once again and asked me, "what did you think-that I was just going to come in here and give you an estimate, and leave right away?". I was speechless and considered calling the police. Not wanting to irritate him further, I allowed him to finish. He did not leave my home until 8:40. I was rather shaken by the entire appointment. The next day I contacted the company to report the incident, with the hope that another homeowner would not have to experience an incident like this. The regional manager of NJ did promptly get back to me. Upon hearing my story, he said "so basically, he made you uncomfortable?" as if I were the one with the problem. He then asked (completely inappropriate for this conversation) "Did the rep get into your attic?". At this point I realized this conversation was falling on deaf ears. At the end, he gave me the obligatory "I am sorry you had this experience...", but it certainly lacked any sincerity and I am quite certain this company will continue with its current practices. Oh, and did I mention the quote? It was $22,000. My parents had their roof done a few years ago and it was $6,000 by a top rated Angie's list member. Their home is much larger than mine. I would not recommend having anything to do with this company.
Description of Work: I was first contacted by Power HRG with representatives knocking on my door, stating they were in the area completing a neighbor's roof. I did not learn about Power HRG through Angie's list, which I should have evaluated first!

I'd first like to address the price discrepancy between quotes you received. The warranty Power offers for our Timberline Ultra HD shingle is the 'System Plus' warranty - a warranty we're able to offer because we only utilize GAF products throughout the installation of a complete roofing system. This warranty lasts for 50 years, is transferable to the next homeowner, and covers all costs involved in a potential replacement - removal, labor, and materials. In addition to a significantly longer warranty, our guarantee extends to the entirety of the roof - do you have an issue with the underlayment? The flashing? The ridge vents? We'll replace it for free. The warranty you received as a part of your roof will not cover the entirety of the roof - only shingles. In order for the warranties of the shingles to be valid, you need to use other GAF components within the roofing system - we utilize GAF Weather Watch and Water Shield, GAF Deck Armor, GAF Pro Start Starter Strip, GAF Cobra Ridge Vents and GAF TimberTex cap shingles, which meaning every aspect of your roof is covered with a premium roofing product. If your roof does not consist of these products, there's a good chance your warranty is already voided. In addition to all of this, Power has been awarded Master Elite certification by GAF - their highest installation training certification - and we've recently received "The Gold Circle" Award from the NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association) and the Consumer Protection Excellent Award from GAF for never cutting corners or compromising the quality of our product in order to offer a lower price. We understand our product isn't for everyone - premium products typically are not - but If you want to purchase a roof that you will never have to worry about or invest another dime into - our roofing system is the route you want to choose, hands down. Power does not compromise or cut corners in relation to its quality - when you choose Power, you choose peace of mind. In relation to the pricing structure, the reason we're able to offer such a steep discount on the first visit is simply a matter of efficiencies. We visit hundreds of customers everyday. By offering our customers a steep discount for an agreement that evening, we effectively eliminate costs from the potential project. It is simply more cost-effective for us to come to an agreement on cost if our customers are ready to move forward. And if we can come to an agreement, we push those cost savings right on to the customer for their trust in our products and team. At the same time, we realize asking customers to make a commitment on a large project in one evening is not something everyone can do. Therefore, we believe we offer other cost-effective options that allow you to consider Power while you schedule additional estimates are sit on the quote until you are ready down the line. We are extremely confident in our products, warranties and level of service and while we are transparent that we are not the cheapest game in town, we feel our customers will ultimately choose quality over the lowest bid. The products offered were excellent. The best ratings in the market on efficiency. (Jeff) The sales person explained all the features and the benefits of the products offered. We were very impressed with the energy, noise and security efficiencies of the new products. The installation was placed 3-4 weeks after the sales meeting. The crew showed up on time and took care of all the aspects of the installation professionally. Marc was patient, professional and paid attention to the smallest details of work. I would definitely recommend the product and the company to anyone looking to perform an upgrade on their windows or doors.

The estimate went well after sitting down with the agent to discuss prices I was given an original price of 25,000 dollars but told if I acted immediately they would be able to do a deal and bring the price to 20,000. And then again it could go as low as 18,000 if I locked it in right away. While the representative was professional and very knowledgeable about his product the price was far out of the realm of all of the other roofers who had given estimates using virtually the same products and nowhere near that price even after adding in any difference in material costs. They were almost twice as much as the roofer I used , after calculating the extras
