+ -1 moreJan came and gave a price and answered all our questions. She was very knowledgable. She gave us addresses to go and see work Precision had done. The crew came as scheduled and were pleasant and professional. They did the job exactly as I wanted. They left the yard very clean. It took them two days to complete. They worked long and hard to complete the job. Precision's price was the highest I received but I believe they do the best work around.
Description of Work: Precision took down and removed a chain link fence and installed approximately 280' of 6' PVC fence. sections facing street are two tone with lattice top. They also installed about 30' of picket PVC fence between adjacent property.

+ -1 moreA lot of companies do not want to do small jobs. I was very appreciative that they helped us, especially since we called them on the phone. We haven't had anyone out to the house yet because we are temporarily putting the job on hold. I felt that the estimates they gave us seemed reasonable.

+ -1 moreI had received 5 estimates to do the job of putting a railing on my concrete porch and a gate at the opening of my backyard. Out of the 5 companies 4 of them said they could not do the job because they were scared to drill into my 3ft high patio for fear of cracking it. Precision Fence came in and said they could do it with no problems. I asked if they were sure because the other companies did not want to do the work for fear of cracking my porch. He assured me he was great at his job and it wouldn't be a problem. They gave me a two week time frame to come do the job. We were looking to get the job done in that time frame because we were in the process of getting a dog and needed the gate. It took them 3 weeks to show after numerous calls by us. That was the first issue. The second issue was the cracking of my porch. They did the job and I have to be honest it looked really good. I was very excited until I saw that they broke off a chunk of my porch when they were drilling. Instead of telling me that they did this they just placed the piece back into its place and finished the job. I saw this the next day and told him. His answer was the patio wasn't in good shape in the first place but I reminded him that he assured me this wouldn't be an issue and that he said he had done this many times before with no issues. I called repeatedly to have them come back and fix it but they kept ducking my calls until finally one of them came by the house to look at it. He assured me someone would come by in a week or so to fix the issue but that was 2 months ago. As of today it still has not been fixed. I really delayed in writing this because I just didn't want to believe that they really weren't coming back to fix their mistake. As I mentioned already they did a nice job with the railing and fence but once they got paid they really didn't care about fixing any issues tht occurred and that is the part that irks me the most. I will never use this company again because they broke my trust and I will definitely not refer them to any of my friends that are looking for a fence company. They just cant be trusted to keep their word.
Description of Work: I hired Precision to put a railing on my back porch that is raised about 3 foot off the ground. I also had them put a gate at about a 10 ft opening in the entrance of the back yard.

+ -1 moreThe company installed a PVC fence for us. When we contacted them, they immediately followed up with helpful information, options and choices. They came to our home to measure and provide an estimate when they said they would, and they installed on time and on budget. Their estimate was also right on target. There was one delay due to part of the materials not being in when expected, but the company kept us regularly informed by phone and we only waited an additional few days. The employees were very professional. They finished the job in one day (as they said they would) and they made sure we were happy with what they were doing as they worked. They were also meticulous--keeping our yard clean and ensuring they cleaned up everything before they left. We were very happy with them and we love our new fence. This company does what they say they'll do--with quality and professionalism, and for the price and timeframe they give you--a real treat these days!!

+ -1 morePrice was comparable to other quotes and installed the fencing in one morning. There was a remaining section of fence that I initially asked them not to take to cover a gap found in the fence but asked them in the end to take it. I had dragged the single piece of stockade to the truck to help them out yet the installer still gave me an attitude simply because they had to pick it up and toss it on the truck along with the other dozen pieces of fencing. Overall, pleased with the work and would use them again.
Description of Work: Installed 100' of vinyl fence in my yard and hauled away existing fencing.

Description of Work: We called this company for an estimate to install/replace fence in our yard. roughly 350 feet of fence. Plus the possible addition of a gate, the lowering of another fence/gate improperly installed by previous owner. I was going to add on another fenced area for a garden to the estimate. The first problem was the guy showed up late. Not a problem, he left a message saying he had to go to office to drop something off. My opinion is, promptness with customers is first. Drop off things later. To me thats a sign of professionalism and how you will do the job. The rep cam, measured then said he would email me a quote that night. I found this weird beccuase he was the 4th estimate we requested and all the others were able to do the calculations on the spot. Its not rocket science. Needless to say, I never heard from him. I never recieved a follow up phone call. I left a message once, to inquire as to the estimate and never recieved a return call to date. I can only assume this job wasnt big enough for them or that they are just a lousy buiness and unprofessional. Either way, I would never usethem nor could I ever recomend them to anyone else. Maybe they do great work. I'll never know because they obviously dont need the business or they dont consider my business worthwhile. In the end, I will be using one of the other companies that showed up on time, brought brochures for their product, gave a detailed estimate and followed up with us as to any questions we may have had. In this economy, it still amazes me companies can afford to be so flippant with potential customers. Email a quote later? Sorry to interupt your busy day. Guesse you had more important things to do! UPDATE 8/11/12 The salesperson called and left a message claiming he did in fact email me. First, his first contact came almost 6 weeks after I made my review and longer than that after he was supposed to give me an estimate. That says a lot right there. He leaves out that I also called their office and never recieved a return call either. I also checked my emails, spam included, from the date he came up to about 2 days ago. No email from him. Regardless of whether he sent an email or not they never bothered to follow up with a phone call to even see if I recieved the email. I assume my business wasnt worth their time. ( the other 4 companies who gave estimates in person, that day, all called a few days later to follow up and ask if I had any questions, problems etc). If not doing an estimate in person, as 4 other companies did, then allegedly sending out an email and never following up is how they do business, then I am happy I did not choose them to do the work. To offer an excuse it was hot out as the reason you couldnt write up an estimate is a poor excuse. It was July in new York. Thats part of the job for a fence company that does almost all of its business during warmer weather. The 4 other reps who came that day all had no problems taking 5 minutes to write up an estimate. The fact I had just purchased the home is also irrelevant. Bottom line, I had excellent work done by another company who I will recomend to others. You lost my business and will never get it again in the future. People can do what they want with my review, but the companies response itself says it emailed me, never mentions following up and offers poor excuses. if thats a risk you want to take, then by all means, use this company. Just make sure its not too hot out.

+ -1 morePrecision Fence - not a good experience. Unbelievable!!! Three weeks ago, we visited the showroom and made an appointment for the following Friday. The young man (Mike) showed up on time and was very helpful and we thought we had the right company to do the job. Mike promised that he would email me the estimate later that day (a Friday). When I didn't get the estimate by Tuesday, I called and left a message. No reply. The next time I called I asked for the manager or owner. No - the receptionist would not pass me through to anyone and assured me again she would get my message to Mike. Last Friday I called for the 4th time and told the receptionist this was my last call. She still refused to pass me through to someone in the office and assured me my phone call would be returned. We still have not received any email estimate and no return call. I am putting this on Angie's list because maybe the owner doesn't know what is going on. It is hard to believe that this business is on the "list" let alone rated an "A", but that won't last if this is the way they conduct business.

Description of Work: Very punctual and good professional installation crew. Not a high-pressure sell, which I appreiated. Very open, invited me to see there ward. Flexible payment options. Was an aesthetic problem with first installation but they figured out the problem and came back to fix as promised. Fence looks great.

+ 0 moreIf I tell you the story of start to finish I will be here forever, I shopped and shopped and shopped, I had narrowed it down to two companies and although Precision was not the least expensive they did have the BEST reputation any where I looked Angies List, BBB and even reviewing the blogs on the internet I did go with Precision because of my sales person Janice she was GREAT, no pressure very informative gave me the pros of what I wanted to do and the cons she did not try and hide anything, she was very knowledgeable in her products and absolutely no pressure from her. Upon signing of the contract she did not drop the ball either (like most sales people do) she kept me informed up until the day of my install. Oh and the two men who did the install was also wonderful, I had a grade on both sides of my property and they asked me questions to what I would like to do go straight across or stager, they did not just look at the drawing and install. I advised them I am not in there business I left it up to them they are the professionals not me and I am glad I did what a GREAT job I love driving up to my house its beautiful and I have yet to have anyone who comes to my house say a bad word about the fence everyone loves it If I could use them for all of my projects at my home I would !! Use them they are GREAT!! I live in Lake Grove you can come by and see the workmanship its like no other

+ 0 moreThe price was around $2400 or something like that I guess. The guy who came was on time and he was awesome. He did an awesome job. My husband was so pleased. Then he even helped my husband bring in a lift chair for my father-in-law because he was coming home from a nursing home rehab. So he helped him with that. He just did a really fantastic job. My husband is actually having them come back to give us an estimate on some fencing and a gate. They did a great job and they definitely went above and beyond with helping out with the chair. They were honestly like that. My husband would also say the same thing about them and he would recommend them a hundred percent. We will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: We used Precision Fence Co. They did work at my father-in-law’s house on the 8th of October. They put in a handicap ramp up to the back door where the patio is.

+ -1 moreJan was wonderful. I have a small dog, so I needed to ensure the fence would be flush to the ground not level on top. She made sure this was noted clearly on my paperwork. She also recommended adding filler pieces where my property wasn't level to ensure flush to the ground. We discussed best solutions to installing new gate on side of property where oil tank is located - this entrance is used all the time by my gardener and I wanted to be sure the gate wouldn't be scratched. I had a few delays with my installation date due to inclement weather but on the actual day the workers showed up on time and were very courteous. The foreman asked several questions prior to starting the work, making sure we were on the same page. The demo of my old fence & installation of the new fence took the entire day.
Description of Work: Replaced 6ft cedar fence & chain link fence with 6ft PVC fence around property. Replaced chain link gate with PVC gate and installed new PVC gate.

+ -1 moreOther than these problems, the quality was good:1) They stepped on my plants in the process of working killing a few of them.2) They didn't fill all holes left when the removed old wooden posts.3) They dumped left over dirt behind trees in my back yard. 4) The gates fell out of alignment 3 different times. The gates wouldn't close. Each time it took them at least 3 weeks to come back to re-align the gates.

+ 0 moreVery satisfied! Can't say enough about our satisfaction with the experience from start to finish. Mike was fantastic in the office and at the time of on-site estimate helping us with ideas, and even a custom piece of fence they had never made before. Tom the crew foreman was highly competent, easy to work with, and extremely interested in making sure each part of the job was checked out by me before they started it. Tom, with his team of two installers were true professionals, polite, and the hardest working men I've ever seen on a job. They arrived at 9:30 am and left about 8:30 pm... hardly took a break in all that time. And it was hot! At the end they cleaned up everything... you would never know our driveway had been a construction site for a day. To top it off, the price was very reasonable...not cheap, but not excessive. We paid for quality and received it in materials, labor, and installation precision. I don't believe in shopping by price alone. The cheapest job can be the most expensive if it doesn't perform well. Mike is now working with us to custom craft PVC porch columns to replace the wooden ones we have that are rotting. They are a special style unavailable in PVC, and he is figuring a custom way to recreate them in PVC, as well as install a PVC handrail. In a recession, when money is tight and house values are falling, it is a BIG decision to engage in home improvement. There just isn't room for error...a wrong decision, a bad job, can make a big hole in your bank account! We used Angie's List to find Precision Fence and it paid off. We got a great buying experience and a beautiful, solidly installed fence that has greatly enhanced the curb appeal of our property. We're very happy and recommend Precision Fence with the highest confidence!
Description of Work: 4 foot lattice-top white PVC fence along the length of the driveway...custom designed lattice "swoop" connecting 4 foot fence to 6 foot PVC solid privacy fence along the side of the house... additional fencing done to create a utility area for trash cans and enclose a patio area for grill... 2 PVC lattice-top gates installed on either side of house (one required drilling into the sidewalk to set the gate post solidly ... Spruce stockade along property line in wooded backyard...Locust post and rail (with gate) enclosing the back of the wooded yard.

+ 0 moreJan the salesperson was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain to me differences in fencing and showed me samples. I had questions during the process of getting estimates from other companies, and Jan always returned the call promptly and answered my questions. The installers did a great job, Tom and his crew worked hard - I never saw them stop working. They worked until it was almost dark and returned the next morning to complete the final touches on the job. They cleaned up completely, there was no left over debris from either the tear down or installation. Jan called several days later to speak to me about the fence - I told her that I was VERY SATISFIED and HAPPY. That follow up phone call shows how the company cares about their clients and the product and quality of the fencing and work performed. The fence looks great, I recommend highly the Precision Fence Company.

+ 0 moreExcellently! Called for an estimate & was quoted a tentative estimate of $800 over the phone & made an appointment for an in person estimate the following week! Jan (terrific gal) was there promptly for the scheduled appointment! She took all the measurements & measurements for a possible future job & went over all the products available! Estimate was $825, which included hauling away the old fencing & gate! Very nice, very professional! Jan said it would be 1-2 weeks for the installation to take place! The following Monday, Precision Fence set up the work to be done the following Weds. LESS THAN 1 WEEK! Rained the day of the appointment, was immediately scheduled for 9- 10 AM the next day! Workers arrived at 9AM sharp, went over the work as I wanted it done & were finished within 3 hours. Checked with me throughout the installation, were professional, cleaned the site completely. I would recommend them without reservation for any fencing job! My larger job, approx. $4000 will go to them without getting another estimate!!!!
