I purchased a new home and the security system needed an upgrade. So I turned to Angieslist.com and glad I did. If you want to avoid those large security companies and false promises and instead want to deal directly with a small business owner and a company that is professional, responsive, knowledgeable, and punctual ...call Standguard.

First visit went well. Hank was personable, thorough and upfront with quote. He followed up while we got several other quotes. We decided to go with Standguard. Staff is nice and helpful. Each person has different skill set. Patient with explaining how to use the technology which is very user friendly. Very happy with results!

Company was fantastic to work with. The owner came out to view our home layout and explain the different options available to us. They were very competitive on pricing. Installation went smoothly and the system has continue to function flawlessly for about year.

This was a was a fantastic process start to finish. Great communication and the job was completed quickly and efficiently. The features area all really easy to use and we especially appreciate the option to use the iPhone App to control our new security system. From our initial meeting all the way through the install everything went well. All those I meet and interfaced with were very friendly and knowledgeable. The job was performed without any issues and they left our home as clean as they found it. I would highly recommend this company.

We had an old wired alarm system on our house that we wanted to update. Upon calling Hank, he was quick to respond and came to our house the same day, despite being in the area earlier that day, made the 40 minute trip to come back in the same day. He spent a bit of time assessing the system and coming up with an initial plan of attack and a very competitive rate (when compared to Slomins, ADT, Vivent and Front point). Once everything was agreed, Hank knew how important getting our new system up and running was to us so he set a date (just 3 days later!) to do the installation. This was highly appreciated. The team arrived on time and was very professional and very careful to explain their plans. Unfortunately, due to the age of the system (and frankly a messy job done originally), we had to change the plan. The team immediately called me to discuss before doing any of the work and gave me the opportunity to think it over (rather than just start ripping things out and then leave me in a position where I HAD to say yes). Hank called me later in the day to discuss a change of plan and new pricing (which was still extremely competitive considering we were redoing the entire system (42 openings, multiple smoke detectors and motion sensors, multiple keypads). After comparison shopping over a weekend, I called Hank back to give the go ahead. Again, knowing that it was important for us to get the system running, he immediately scheduled his team to come in the NEXT DAY! When they arrived, they were once again extremely professional, careful, neat and engaging. They were happy to spend the time to explain everything to us and discuss the best locations for certain sensors (etc.). To sum it up, we highly recommend Stand Guard and would 100% use them again. Even the monitoring service they use is great - reasonably priced and extremely responsive (we set the alarm off each of the first two days and they immediately called (unlike some others we've had in the past)).

The Standguard Security team did an excellent job. They were able to offer the latest technology for the alarm system - wireless, mobile, etc. - at a competitive price (both upfront installation and monthly charges). Hank, Chris and team have been very responsive in terms of service - quick to respond, spent time walking through the system, fixing minor bugs, etc. Very pleased thus far.

BETTER THAN WE EVEN EXPECTED. We had a very old home security system that we often had problems with -- as it was over 20 years old. Each time we called our alarm guy we had to wait days for him to come to remedy the problem. THUS, WE MY HUSBAND AND I DECIDED WE WOULD LOOK INTO POSSIBLY GETTING A WHOLE NEW UPDATED HOME SECURITY SYSTEM WITH ANOTHER COMPANY THAT COULD RESPOND TO ANY PROBLEMS RIGHT AWAY. WE RESEARCHED SECURITY COMPANIES FROM ANGIES LIST, AND WHEN I FOUND STANDGUARD SECURITY, EVERYTHING I READ FROM OTHER REVIEW JUST CONVINCED ME THEY WERE THE ONES. THUS, WE CALLED THEM, AND THEY CAME THE NEXT DAY, AND GAVE US A GREAT PRICE FOR A BRAND NEW AND "STATE OF THE ART" VERY UPDATED HOME SECURITY SYSTEM. BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I ALSO REALLY LOVED THE PERSONALITIES OF THE PEOPLE WE SPOKE TO FROM THE COMPANY, AND KNEW THIS WAS THE COMPANY FOR US. WE TOLD THEM WE WANTED THEM TO INSTALL THE SYSTEM THEY TOLD US ABOUT, AND THEY ACTUALLY WERE ABLE TO INSTALL IT THAT DAY -- WHICH WAS GREAT, as our old security system was on the fritz. THE NEW SYSTEM IS GREAT -- SO MODERN, WITH SO MANY NEW THINGS THAT THE OLD SYSTEM DID NOT HAVE -- WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, AND WE ABSOLUTELY PICKED THE RIGHT COMPANY AND THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO DO IT FOR US. I WILL RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO EVERYONE. THEY ARE THE BEST, AND THEY ARE SO SWEET AND SO EASY TO DEAL WITH. THEY ALSO ARE ALWAYS THERE TO ANSWER ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS. THEIR PRICE WAS VERY FAIR, THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB; AND THEY WERE A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. I was extremely happy with Hank the owner of Standguard Security Inc. I called Hank early in the day for information about an alarm system and he promptly came to my house that same day in the evening for an estimate and other options that he presented to me for my needs. I called him back and we set a time for the installation of a new system that was free ( just needed to sign up for a monitoring service). The day of installation Hank showed up with his tech guy Chris and promptly started to get to work. Chris the tech guy / installer was great and made sure everything was working correctly and answered all of my questions before leaving. They both were professional and I am very happy with the whole process.

Work was done well and as scheduled. Company is easy to work with.

From the first time I contacted Hank, I was confident that I was going to be satisfied with the level of service. I found him on Angie's List, and not only did he respond immediately, he was at my home the next day to preview the job in question. He was professional and knowledgeable. He insisted that the only right way to do complete this job was to be here during the install. Several of Hank's employees remained at my home for the entirety of time it took to install the new windows (over three days) in order to ensure that the wires were all reinstalled properly. Upon completion of the reinstall, Hank took all necessary steps to connect my home to the new alarm monitoring service. Throughout the course of this job, Hank never requested payment until he knew that the job was done, and we were satisfied. I cannot speak highly enough of Hank and his team. Right from the beginning, they have been an absolute pleasure to work with, and I will confidently recommend Standguard to anyone who inquires. Standguard was extremely thorough, courteous and professional. They evaluated my existing system, identified issues in contact points in doors and windows around the house and in fire detection components. They then corrected all of the issues, installing new components as necessary, and upgraded my main unit and control panels. They also installed and setup the iBridge module to allow us remote access to the alarm system and enable other home automation features. They walked me through all of the features of the new system and verified with me that all of the contact points were working properly. Everything went smoothly and I am very happy with the system. The owner Hank Hauer was involved and followed the progress of the installation to ensure everything was complete and that we were happy with everything. I would highly recommend Standguard.

It went very well. The service was prompt and efficient and done with a smile!

I originally had ADT for over 3 years and was getting 8 windows changed, I called them to get an estimate of how much it would cost to have them come out and reattach all the sensors back to the windows being replaced. They wanted over $400. I then started looking for a new company and checked Angies List. Standguard stood out in the ratings and was a local company. I contacted them and Hank came out to give an estimate. My only charge was going to be for a wireless hookup so it doesn't use the phone line. I agreed to go with them and they showed up on time to do the work. They needed a code to override the system so they could switch the system over to them. The codes they had and the ones I had didn't work. I even called ADT and they weren't helpful, so they had to install an entirely new system for less than what ADT wanted to reattach the 8 windows. The workers were all very professional, friendly and courteous. They took the time to explain what they were doing and even show my wife how to use the system. The amount of work they did for the price I paid was extremely reasonable. I am happy I made the switch and would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Everything went very well. All the employees at the company are extremely knowledgeable and professional and very nice. They did everything perfectly and cleaned up after they were done. When I asked to change or adjust something it was never an issue. They were also very good at explaining everything in the process. I am definitely happy I picked Standguard.

Contacted Hank from Standguard Security based on the positive reviews from Angies List. Hank came to our home as scheduled and did a thorough inspection of the layout of the house. He also asked what we were interested in as far as home security. Hank was very friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. He made a suggestion for a security system based on the layout of the house and our needs. He explained everything that we would need and showed us the placement of the hardware. We were very pleased with Hank's ideas and price. We decided then that Standguard Security was the company to go with. The system was installed when scheduled and has been working great since. Hank even contacted us a few days later to check up and to verify that all emergency contact information was complete and accurate. We are extremely pleased with Hank and his company. The cost of service was for all equipment installed and one year of central station monitoring.

The problem was identified and fixed quickly and professionally for a reasonable price.
