Michael is a real find. He is professional, punctual, fairly priced, responsive and a fine painter with an excellent eye for color.

Michael was very professional and punctual and we are happy with the paint job. He will be back to do the other rooms in apartment soon.

I have a very smll powder room that I wanted wallpapered in a big, bold pattern. Michael was responsive, helpful with measurements, punctual, and unbelievably skilled. It is very hard to do big palm fronds in a small space. He matched each from between walls so it looks like one enormous piece of print. The work is flawless.

Michael is a true professional. I contacted him about wallpaper removal/wallpaper hanging for our trade show booth and he gave me a quote the very same day. It's imperative that our wallpaper is hung properly as it generates sales for our company. It looked impeccable. Michael did an amazing job at an incredible price. He was punctual and showed up exactly at 8 am as requested. We have several trade shows a year in NYC and I will continue to book him in the future!

It very well for me, more difficult for him. The wall paper was a bit difficult to scrape off in some areas. It had been up for about 23 years. Under it was damage to plaster from water that we hadn't seen. It really should have been repaired and skim coated but that would have required a different job and more hassles with insurance for the building. So Michael managed to find small sections of mesh that he fitted together and plastered over. It came out pretty well. The bedrooms look good. The living room ceiling was matched well so you can't see the crack. The hallway and molding are excellent. The bedroom with the small area to be painted is good. We had to move the furniture away from the walls into the center of the rooms but he covered everything. It took about 10 days, coming in about 10 and being kicked out at 5 by the building super.

My excellent impression of Michael started with our first contact. When he came to give me an estimate, he was clear and articulate about the job, and what he needed me to do in advance of the wallpapering day. He arrived on time, had everything he needed with him. The small space was a disadvantage, but he worked neatly and efficiently. He is an experienced professional. The paper was fragile, not pre-pasted, and a 24 inch match. His work is perfection! It is aligned, and symmetric, there are no glue spots of the surface. Even after he finished, he checked carefully to be certain that it met his standards. It took him less than 3 hours, the price was fair. This man has an old world work ethic. He loves his craft, and takes pride in doing it well. I would recommend him without reservation...! ( I am actually thinking about another wallpapering project BECAUSE I know about him)

Michael was very professional and honest from our initial contact all the way through completing the job. He was very responsive and answered all our questions in timely manner. After we received the wallpaper Michael came to our house to evaluate the project and confirm the initial quote he gave us and he was clear upfront about his approach. When he came by for the job, Michael worked non stop until the job was done. He also informed us that some of the delivered wallpaper had wrinkled edges and that he will do whatever he can to smooth that out- and he did. Also all the seems of the wallpaper are smooth and unnoticeable. Michael did a great job and we couldn't be happier- Thank you Michael!

Michael was punctual, professional, neat, worked quickly, and did an excellent job. I would definitely hire him again.

The job that Michael had to do was tedious and challenging. He first removed all the old wallpaper, which did not come off easily. Every time you tried to remove a section, just the top layer would come off - the bottom part would stick on the wall and have to be scraped off. Underneath, the walls were in poor condition, and Michael had to sand them down and, in some areas, apply plaster. Eventually, the walls were smooth and even. He then painted the ceiling, doors, windows and radiator coverings. Michael then began the task of applying the new wallpaper, and that job came out beautifully. Because we were so satisfied, we then asked Michael to paint other areas of the apartment, such as window sills, doors, and radiator coverings. At all times he was agreeable, personable, and pleasant. We would highly recommend him; he is a true professional.

I contacted Michael about wallpapering a wall funning from hallway to living room including frame around entry. He came the next day to give me an estimate. I showed him the sample paper which is grasscloth. Michael offered help to clarify amount needed, his estimate was reasonable. I ordered the paper and contacted him when it arrive. He scheduled 2 days for the job, was prompt and pleasant. His work is meticulous and he peformed additional work to correct a flaw in the paper itself. I am thrilled with the results and could not recommend him more highly.

The results were perfect!! We could not be happier. The paint jobs are extremely professional. When we returned home, our apartment was immaculate. What's most exciting, though, is the wallpaper. It transformed the hallway. It was hung masterfully--you can't see a single seam. He used it to hide ugly aspects of one wall, which was driving me nuts but I didn't think there was much I could do. And he figured out which parts of a crazy corner should get wallpaper and which should get paint. Michael has an amazing eye that comes from a lot of experience, and we are now so proud of our apartment. We also thought the price was perfect for the jobs. Really fair.

Michael was very professional and did an excellent job. We didn't have much extra wallpaper for waste, and he made it work with what we had. The wallpaper installation is beautiful and Michael clearly takes pride in his work. I am a decorator and this job was for a client. Michael Mahoney did an outstanding job of repairing and painting badly peeling doors, windows and the insides of closets.. He was precise and cleaned up beautifully afterwards. I will use his talents and services again.

.After getting a few quotes, we were fortunate to have Michael Mahoney arrive to give an estimate to repair cracks in bathroom ceiling walls-paint and then wallpaper a small bathroom. He is prompt,courteous,and reliable.His emails are always returned in a days time or less. He really is a skilled worker who takes pride in his work.-meticulous and always made sure things were clean at end of day.Michael made sure that everything was ALWAYS covered properly and is most considerate of the fact that he is working in someones HOME.. His quote was for labor-all materials such as paint,paper and paste,plastic drop cloths are additional but to be expected-Brushes,rollers etc are supplied.. Michael is a wonderful find and we love the work-The paper chosen was a silkscreen pattern with many cuts and tricky repeat patterns-he probably could have finished the job with paper on rolls but brought this to our attention that doing so would not look as neat and precise so he recommended. we order another roll-No problem and much appreciated - Michael wants his customers to appreciate the finished product and is quite diligent and pleasant to work with. Michael and I went back and forth over the holidays about a wallpaper job in a half bath in my apartment. I was waiting for the wallpaper to arrive before he could start. And then when it got here, he was backed up on another project that was going long and since I was in a hurry, he referred me to someone else who did a great job. So though I can't vouch for his work, I will say that he is a great communicator and gives a high level of customer service.

Working with Michael was a pleasure. He is extremely professional and pays attention to the tiniest details. From the first phone call, he responded immediately and we set a date for him to review the rooms. My apartment hadn't been painted in some time and it really needed refreshing. As a senior editor for a national decorating magazine, I am quite particular about my colors and the workmanship. Michael understood instantly what I wanted. He gave me a reasonable estimate and we set a date for the work. He called to say he would be 1/2 hour late due to the weather. However, the job was completed on time and he transformed my 1940's kitchen into a current room that is functional and beautiful and the living room is exactly what I wanted. I have already recommended him to my friends.

Michael is a true professional. He handled all the requirements with my building without any intervention on my part and received the appropriate permissions before beginning work. My apartment is circa 1955 with all the original trim, molding and not exactly plumb walls so I made it clear that I didn't expect perfection but there were some things that just really bugged me. Painted over chunks of plaster, layers of paint that formed an additional edge on corners scrapes on some of the baseboard are what I discussed with Michael. Having seen other subscriber comments, I understood when Michael asked me to indicate as best I could the areas where I saw flaws to ensure we were on the same page and, as I mentioned above, he was happy to accommodate me if I noticed something after the work started. Michael and his assistant completed the job - living room, bedroom and dining area - in the specified time and very close to budget. The supplies, which were an add-on to the went over a bit but I chose an expensive paint.

Great. He was very thorough. It was a tricky space to work on and he was meticulous.

Michael was quick to respond to my initial inquiry for help, and came right over to give an estimate. He was able to start & complete the work a few weeks after that. He was very pleasant and we trusted him completely in our space. He was also able to complete the work very close to the time frame he'd spec'ed, and within $150 of the budget he'd given us up front. This was all a plus. When I found out he expected the work ? on 3 old rooms, two with badly damaged plaster ? to take 5 days, I was surprised he could finish so quickly. We gave him feedback through the week, on areas we thought were done too quickly, or checked to see if he was going to do things that appeared were not being done. It seemed we were able to communicate and we all were on the same page. In the end, the ceilings and walls (for the most part) were good, but the trim and moulding continues to surprise me. At first I noticed large chunks of joint compound that had been dropped on baseboards and just painted over. Then I was noticing whole areas that hadn't gotten any paint at all (areas with dirt from before, or chips in the paint that still existed). I also started to find areas that had been primed but not given a high-gloss top coat. Half the doors were painted with a roller with a high nap for uneven surface so they now have a texture they didn't before. He also had this practice of applying joint compound (used as spackle on the moulding) but not sanding it afterwards, leaving a very sloppy texture to things. I wanted to give Michael a good review, but I keep finding things that upset me. I let him know by email that we weren't happy with the trim, and he didn't reply. Update in response to the "Provider Response" on Oct 29: I appreciate Michael's response here, and I agree, we should have been more clear about what we both expected the work to entail. I hired him to paint the three spaces. I said a full skim coat was not required, and I understood the texture to the walls was going to remain. He has since contacted me via email and we have discussed our difference in opinion about this project, in particular about the trim & mouldings.

I'm so glad I called Michael! He pre-inspected the job and his estimates for materials were spot on. As he was explaining how he would complete the job, we could really tell how amazingly detail oriented he is. The final result shows - he is really an artist, every inch is perfect. He is also a pleasure to deal with, always available, punctual and accommodating. I'm running out of adjectives here but the bottom line is: I highly recommend him!!!

Michael responded to inquiries quickly, charged what I think was a reasonable amount, arrived on time, took care to keep work area clean and did not leave until he was sure that the paper dried without buckling. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or use him again.

Everything went well until we received the estimate. The provider returned the call promptly. I wanted faux painting in my kitchen and he brought another person to give me an estimate. They were both very nice and professional. They both seemed knowledgeable. However, I felt that the estimate they provided was twice the amount and we decided to contract another company.
