Michael J Mahoney

They were excellent. He and his assistant came on time and worked and cleaned up. He helped us select the best type of paint to use for each space. I would use Michael J. Mahoney again and I do plan to use hime to do some wallpapering in the future.

We had an excellent experience with Michael. He promptly reviewed the job at our apartment, and followed through perfectly. He removed old grass cloth wallpaper, conditioned the walls, and primed/painted the walls and ceiling for us. We would absolutely hire him again!

The quality of the work was outstanding. The wallpapering was very difficult because the building had settled so the walls were uneven. Nevertheless, Michael matched the extremely detailed wallpaper patterns. Michael was reliable, good-natured and worked late to ensure the project was completed so other construction could be performed according to timelines. His prices were very competitive, about half of what other highly rated professionals on Angie's List quoted. He also introduced me to an excellent contractor as well as a decorative painter. I highly recommend him.

Besides being 2 nice guys Mike and Steve are considerate, fair and honest businessmen. I hired them to paint my living/dining room, Kitchen and Bathroom. From start to finish both were responsive and attentive to my request, from dealing with my management for insurance purposes, to securing supplies, making recommendations for best application and providing additional spot treatments when requested and even some that weren’t. Only con which I think another review mentioned is all furniture items weren’t returned to original positions but the cleanup wasn’t a huge issue. I would use them again!

Mike did an excellent job overall, was incredibly responsive in communication, was careful in cleaning up at the end of each day, and was thorough in making sure we were fully satisfied with his work. He was patient while jumping through hoops to gain approval from the building, and he supplied all documentation required in a timely manner. We will definitely be using Mike again for future projects after he exceeded our expectations on this project!

It went very well. Michael and Steve came when they said they would, did a good job and their price was very reasonable. They finished right on time. They could maybe have done a better job cleaning up, but it wasn't a big deal.

Working with Michael and his partner John was great. They were always punctual, professional and respectful. The work was done quickly and well and they even finished it faster than they had initially estimated! We're very happy with the work and will definitely work with them again in the future.

We chose Michael from the Angie's List listing based on the reviews and because he lived nearby. We cannot offer enough positive praise about how well our experience went with Michael - from our first inquiry about his services, to the estimate, to the meeting concerning our painting color choices, to the daily work (he said they would start on Thursday and take 4 days which it did), to the cleanliness of the apartment after each day. Beyond all of the agreed upon tasks and how well they were carried out, Michael noted that our newly repaired floor had some fill the color of which was too light for the floor. He offered to bring some tint to tamp it down a bit. To us that said that Michael took ownership of the entire appearance of the apartment. And, oh yes, the music in the apartment while they painted was great.

Michael and his associate, Steve Bakur were excellent to work with - very professional and considerate. When the first round of plastering and painting of one wall started to flake they found a special primer that sealed the problem areas and replastered and repainted the problem wall. The result is a beautiful and carefully done job in both rooms. I was especially happy that they removed paint on 2 mirrored doors that had been left from our last paint job without being asked. Our furniture is extremely heavy but they carefully moved and replaced it for us. All in all an excellent job and I would be happy to use them again next time we need a paint job.

Couldn’t be happier with the work that Mike and his associate Steve Bakur did in our apartment. The bathroom ceiling was literally falling down. In the dining room, living room and bedroom the ceilings were flaking badly. Mike’s estimate was reasonable, and much lower than others we received. But we had faith in the Angie’s reviews. We found Mike to be personable, thorough and professional. We could tell he had very high standards for his work. We hadn’t even asked him to address the moulding in the bathroom but that too was scraped, sanded and painted as part of the job. We are so pleased that we will be calling Mike back to attack our pre-war kitchen next.

Amazing! The cabinets look great. Michael was super responsive and came over a few days before to check out the job and advise on paint type. He then came over the course of a few days to prime and paint and was in communication the whole time. The final job is amazing and was incredibly affordable.

Michael's work exceeded our expectations. He did not rush the job, worked hard and took pride in his work. The clean up when the job was completed surprised us because there was very little for us to do afterwards. Everything was neat and clean. He is also personable and a very nice guy to boot. I have no hesitation on recommending Michael to anyone who needs his services.

Prep work was required, including plaster work to conceal some wiring that has been trenched into a wall. Michael redid this several times until we were both happy with the result. The workmanship was very good all around. He deserved, and received a very good tip particularly for his willingness and attention to detail..

Repainted kids bedroom and wallpapered the main wall. Extremely pleased with the final result and the overall experience. Worked over two days and was responsive and communicative. Requested numerous bids from other providers and Michael's pricing was inline with other bids. Worked performed at an UWS coop building. Michael had all necessary insurances and was able to turnaround a COI in less than 24 hours. Extremely please with the quality of the work - would hire again

I purchased graphic wallpaper to cover sliding closet doors. If the pattern was not perfectly matched it would have looked terrible. Michael was responsive and professional. In less time than he had predicted, he primed the doors and did a beautiful job. Would definitely recommend him for any wallpapering job.

Michael Mahoney did an excellent job all around. He arrived promptly, worked neatly & finished the job by cleaning up properly. He was not fast because the job was complex (lots of angles & turns) but he worked steadily & quietly until the job was finished. I would definitely hire him again.

I contacted Michael after reading the positive reviews on Angie's List. He was very prompt in setting up a time to come by to assess the job and provide a estimate. He did a very nice job painting the bedroom and closet. There were several holes in the walls from pictures and drapery that had to be filled and sanded. He also spackled a crack in the wall and ceiling where the building had settled. Everything looked smooth and fresh with no signs of the damage. I had just had my floors refinished so I was concerned about having someone come in to work and risk damage. Michael worked with care covering the floors making sure there was no issues. Overall, I am very happy with his work. He worked very quickly finishing in just a few days. The walls look great and I feel like I am in a new room.
